I found the weirdest thing just as I was about to go home! How did it end up on the Thames? A few months ago Si-Finds and I had a fabulous day out mudlarking. What fun we had! We both found some sparkly gold things, but are they actually Gold? And, we play pipe bingo which is rather fun. Guess who wins?! Not who you might think.
Thank you for watching and don't forget, if you would like to try mudlarking you need to have a permit from the Port of London Authority pla.co.uk
See you soon.
Love Nicola xx
Always a pleasure to mudlark with you mud buddy! 👍🏻🐾🧡
love when you two get together. mind you that doll lamp is the stuff of nightmares
I want to ask you guys a question, what do you do with your finds?
I get very exciting when you and Si are together. You guys have great chemistry together!
Loved the butterfly bowl. So was sweet to have given it to you. Happy Easter.
Thank you again my friend for another fascinating adventure. I have been in hospital for five months, and your videos have been a constant comfort for which I am vey grateful.
Get better soon Chris thinking of you. Hugs and wishes from london
I am as excited as you when you find every stem bowl and complete pipe. 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Well done for rescuing the photo albums. I too think it so sad that these photos are no longer with their families. Having done some family history research myself I know that having photos to put with the names is wonderful.
I agree I have gone back to 1400 on my husband’s side and the 1600 on my father’s side family is everything to me.
@@SherryRector Gosh that’s impressive. What documentation did you use to get so far back ?
😊

HAPPY EASTER! HAPPY SPRING! HAPPY MUDLARKING! HAPPY DAYS! 🐰🐤🌼
Don't forget Happy autumn! 😊
I love the way you include clips of ducks, geese, swans, and gulls. I always enjoy your videos. The history lessons are delightful and your materials and comfortable presentation before the camera keep bringing me back for more. I hope your Easter was happy!
Thank you Nina! ❤
Envious of the Chicago area Nicola fans who will get to meet up with you, thank you for the Easter special, sending you peace and love.
Hi Nicola, what a splendid toque! Loved the little dove ring, and as always, loved seeing you and one of your excellent videos. Your efforts in producing them are greatly appreciated. It's been 6 months since my heart attacks and stroke, I'm going to celebrate my progressive recovery by spending some time out in the sunshine, with my bonsai trees. Thanks for getting my day off to an inspiring start! Love and hugs from Vancouver Island ❤
Hello Pamela, I'm so glad that you are recovering well. yes, get outside in the sunshine and spoil yourself with a nice cake and tea whilst watching the world go by! Sending you love and hugs. Nicola
Easter blessings from Toronto. May you have a speedy & successful recovery! 🙌🏻
Speedy recovery. My husband just started dabbling in Bonsai. Pricey hobby it seems. 😀 Also on Vancouver Island. Beautiful day today.
happy easter from new zealand
hello grace and happy easter we love watching your mums adventures
That would be an amazing idea! Urban mudlarking with a deep dive into its history! Yes!yes yes! I’m here for it. ❤your videos and you are so precious.
Thank you ❤
i sometimes ask about things if they are really old or have a history i am interested in even if i don't buy them. it's just fun to hear about them. my mom once got me a 1950's doll from a guy who's wife used to own it before she passed away. he didn't know much other than the type of doll and what year it was made.
I’m all for the Urban mudlarking videos.
I always like when you two hang out together. Fun video
I think nicole finds the most incrdible things, but my favorite part is the history behind the finds.
That Dolls head lamp is the stuff of nightmares.!
I thought Dr. Who
I think the Baby-Head Lamp is incredible! :) Thank you for being such a Sharing person! The Butterfly Bowl is to Die for!
Nicola thank and thank Simon for this wonderful video. When the two of you work together you always find some great historic treasures. By showing them and explaining what they are and how they were used is very informative. I'm older than you, but I'm still learning new things every day, and with your help you provide a venue of expansive intelligence. Cheers!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it xx
No
Happy Easter! Good Luck in the Muck! You found a pipe congregation!
Enjoyed your finds and seeing your beautiful daughter Grace enjoying those Easter Eggs. ❤️
Great video, double the fun with you and Si! Thank you for making these videos, so very enjoyable for me! Take care. Cathy from Florida USA
I've been rescuing old albums for 20 years now Nicola! So glad to hear you did that. I find the families descendants on my ancestry account. I also add the photos on Find-A-Grave.
Brilliant! Thank you for doing that ❤
That's excellent! I want to do that. I think that is a wonderful thing to do.
i have a family member that collects them and records the history of the family in them then logs them in a room she has in her home like they are books. some people donate them to her and tell her everything they know about the family in the photos. she collects the ones from local families to keep up with the history. it was how i found out i was related to one of the first families to settle in my town i currently live in and that i have a really distant family member from way back then with the same last name as my friend's who's entire family is from this town. there's a chance i am very distantly related to himin some way which would mean my other friend who's his distant cousin could also be related to me in some way. rescuing old albums is why a lot of families find new family members they didn't know they had or could possibly have.
That doll head with the eyes all intact was amazing!
Fab video Nicola. So kind of Sci to give you That gorgeous bowl. I can imagine hyacinths in it. That doll ! Yes please research those pics, I totally understand why you want to research those stories. I have my grandparents pics of their time in Egypt in the 30's and they are fascinating! Grace is as beautiful as her mother, it's so good to spend time with our student children. Belated Happy Easter x
Well Nicola, I am not so sure about those doll heads! They scare me. I never had a doll growing up. It's funny because my two older sisters had dolls and clothes and their own carrying cases and once I, the third daughter came along, no more dolls. But I loved the clay pipes overload - that had me tickled pink along with your pottery shards! What a great day out! I loved seeing your daughter Grace. She is beautiful, just like your son! 🐥♥️🐤
They kind of Scare me too😂
Another dolls head phobic here! Never had dolls as a girl, preferred my teddies😆
i love dolls. my oldest one is from the 1950's and in really good condition considering the time since it was made.
Wow a plethera of pipes and stems😍😍😍 I love to see you and Si on outings together ❤❤❤. Well Hello Dolly🤩
Hi Nicola, That dolls head lamp is amazing! Hope you are having a beautiful Easter -see you soon! xx
A nice video this day with Si. Always a great mud larking duo! See you on the next, Nicola! 🇬🇧👍🙂🇺🇸
Yay the dynamic duo!
I think you just made every mudlark female faint with the dolls head complete with eyes.
Isn't it beautiful!
HAPPY EASTER! I love it when you go out with Si. My favorite thing was the dove ring. It was amazing. Have a great week.
Always fascinated by the pipes, seals, jewelry and bits & bobs that catch your eye -- and at the same time my eye is caught by the more industrial items (chains, tools, etc.) that you normally don't pick up. If I were there I could probably spend hours in a 6-foot by 6-foot square!!! And of course great to see you with Simon!
As a beader I'm always interested in your beads. I live in Boston, MA, USA. On🎉
@@sunnydavidson297 -- ??? My beads?
The lamp creeps me out just a wee bit.. but it sure is cool. Such a treat to see you with your daughter. 🕊️ ✌️
Happy Easter. Thank you for the lovely video with Si. He certainly found a pipe graveyard. I love your dolls head lamp. Cheers.
Thank you 🤗
The butterfly bowl. Beautiful and a very thoughtful gift❤
Happy Easter to you and your beautiful daughter. God bless all ❤
Same to you!
Your daughter is lovely!! You are much too young having children that have a little age on them! And I know you have a much older son. Such a lovely visit to the foreshore. Always love an episode when you and Si Finds collaborate. Oh, you're going to Chicago! I grew up near there and it is, for the most part, a lovely city. Wonderful museums. Fabulous restaurants, especially Italian. The lake is phenomenal and very cold. I never found bottles or other things in it, but I did find fossil remnants of coral, Petoskey stones, and circular remnants of crinoids we used to call wampum (it wasn't truly wampum). I did live across the street from an old home where the occupants threw their trash on the side of a hill. I had a good time sorting through that, but I think it was a bit dangerous, rusty tin cans and all. The woman who lived in the house would fuss at me if she caught me but I didn't care!
Thank you so much! You say all the right things:) ❤️
I absolutely adore old photographs. Just imagining the lives the people were living and what they were up to. Loved your dolls head and all you other finds. Thank you.
Hello, Happy Easter y'all... Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
Happy easter🐰and it's such a great Idea of urban mudlarking!!!Thanks for taking us with you to find your treasures at the Thames!!!

Of course! And thank you for your kind comments and for watching my videos. Happy Easter and big hugs to you ❤
Your doll lamp is very inventive. 🪆
Happy Easter!!! YES!!! URBAN MUDLARKING!! I enjoy a channel called Paper and Moose, and she does rescue many old photo albums and researches who they are and what they did. She especially loves WWII Era stories. She would love your creepy doll lamp, as she loves Halloween, clowns, and has a group of "Isle of Lost Toys" she can't leave behind at auctions! She(Renee ) could be your sister in spirit!! Stay well!!🥰🥰🥰
Yes I checked her channel its great! Thank you
Always good to see you with Simon. Cute ring. Love the tuque 😉

Happy Easter to you and your mud buddy Si. It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos and what the River Thames has in store for you.
Dolly head lamp is fun and creepifying.😻
Hi Nicola Happy Easter your looking Gorgeous Today and nice to see Si and your Daughter Grace, Your Urban Mudlarking is a great idea and i would like to see what you find also it is nice to have some history to go with your finds. I know Deptford well i used to live there until i was 8 yrs old then ventured east to Greenwich, Deptford high street was my favourite Saturday shopping day i went with my nan helped carry bags then Goddards Pie n Mash shop occasionally to Manzes Pie n Mash n Liquor Jellied eel's Those were the day's LOL .I look forward to your Urban Mudlarking video's i like Old things and the history behind them it's a never ending reality but i dont think in the next 100 yrs it will be as interesting as most things found then will be Plastic, Glass not as unusual lots of the same, Pottery is sort of the same Chugging out of factory's by the Thousands not as interesting, Nowadays as a lot of old pottery is by hand and designs painted on or crafted is so much more satisfying to hold and see craftsmanship of years gone by. Sorry for the book Nicola wishing you and your Daughter and Si a Happy Easter to you all take care God Bless. Gerry
Wonderful treasures on the foreshore! I like the pictures you have found it would be great for you to research and tell their story. Great dolls lamp, but it is a bit creepy.😮 Your daughter Grace is a very pretty young lady. Glad she came out to say hello 👋🏻. Happy Resurrection Day always remember he has Risen 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼. Hello from Philadelphia, Nicola. Hope you had a wonderful Easter visit with your daughter. Our Easter here was bright, sunny and cool. Now facing three stormy days. The butterfly bowl is lovely. Enjoy!!
Love the doll lamp And your daughter is very cute And sweet
Thank you Nicola for a great video on your recent finds. I would have loved doing that many many years ago. To see the River Thames again is a great memory of all those years ago. I left London in 1971 and have lived in Australia since then. If only we could start again, you😊 seem to have a great life, Thankyou once again Nicole and enjoy your time in Dorset.
The history of some of these things are so interesting, what a rich treasure trove you are looking in!
Have a great trip Nicola, Good also to see Grace. She is so pretty.
Thank you and happy Easter to you. I enjoyed the doll head, when she came out of the mud, I thought she looked angry with mud. And at the end when she got all clean and spooky-loved, she looked fulfilled at last.
Enjoyed as always. Happy Easter.
Thanks for a great video from my two favourite mudlarks.
Love your doll head lamp!

Oh and I loved the doll lamp❤
I’m always so sad when I see old photo albums for sale. My husband has put copies of ours on a hard drive and given them to family in case our albums get sold after our passing. I learn so much history from you and Si. Happy Easter.
Oooh yes, all them pipes! What a groovy pipe dream 😅😂❤❤ Like far out, sis! Keep on rockin' ❤
