  • I never travel very early-I need time to gather myself in the am. I always board early which makes for less stress. I keep my meds with me. I arrive early to not worry.

  • While I don't have a gastro type autoimmune chronic illness but I do have several severe chronic illnesses that can cause gastro type symptoms. When I do travel I make sure to have my meds in their prescription bottles and as diabetes (insulin dependent) is one of my many illnesses, I keep a few insulin syringes (10) with my insulin vials and the rest gets tossed in my checked bag. I also carry a water bottle with Gatorade powder (I let TSA do their check on that because the glacial cherry flavor powder looks like the forbidden white substances powders), because of my chronic hypovolimea status (low blood volume due to low blood plasma/electrolytes always being off). And due to the chronic pain conditions that when sitting still can cause severe neck pain through the rest of my body I not only carry a good quality but adjustable cervical collar (human cone of shame as I call it) but I request wheelchair assistance for in the airports and an aisle chair to safely get me off the plane because of the muscle spasms I get from sitting still (I have to wear leg braces so moving around on a plane is near impossible for me).

    • These are all such great tips and suggestions! Love the Gatorade powder - lately I’ve been carrying some liquid IV packets in my bag so I can stay hydrated with minimal liquid consumption.

  • I really love your videos! Your classical music related videos help me in real life, and your Chronic Illness/IBD videos educate me more about the lifestyle and all the extra care chronically ill people have to take! I've even explained to others what IBD is...and it's all because of you!!! Love your videos so much, please keep them coming! ❤️ Lots of love, Diya

  • I have a variety of exotic and unusual chronic health issues and I live in terror of losing my exotic, unusual meds. I guards my meds like they were gold. My husband is just like, meh, we can get more if you lose them. I also learned a hard lesson about not having my meds, any meds at all, in their original bottles, don’t do it!

    • This is a great point! I've never had any issues traveling with my meds, but if I'm traveling abroad I would make sure to include prescription bottles.

  • I've had IN+BD 33 years and whenever I fly, usually in the morning, I do not eat breakfast and do not eat again until I get to my hotel. Just so I don't have to worry about rushing to the toilet. I just drink. I agree with the snacks though. I know what I can eat, so I bring them with me.

    • I can definitely relate! As a musician, when I'm flaring sometimes I have to skip meals before concerts just to make it through the performance!

  • Did the travel yoga mat fit in your carry-on? If so, what brand do you have??

    @AubreySalokaN@AubreySalokaN2 жыл бұрын
    • Depending on the carry on I think it could fit! It is a little on the heavy side though. This is the exact mat I have, it's not the best but it gets the job done! poshmark.com/listing/Anthropology-yoga-travel-mat-5f67b1ebbb593707a8c632ba?campaign_id=14129799359&ad_partner=google&gskid=pla-1395082920143&gcid=537106233074&ggid=130744509092&gdid=c&g_network=g&enable_guest_buy_flow=true&gclid=CjwKCAjw1JeJBhB9EiwAV612yxRFB5cnMkcwqL5wvxLIqOgLuOoooexGEkJoBm2cFSn-pQb2Y9hyNBoCa40QAvD_BwE

  • Flying on a plane for the first time in years. The stuff from here should help me a lot. I've been trying to figure out what I might need for my chronic pain, and to help my partner who does have some anxiety. Im glad this video found me :)
