To those out there wondering, the NCAA doesn't have any ownership of the song in question, it's the corporate Viacom and Paramount networks--CBS, TBS, TNT and TruTV who own the rights to the song. Disney owns all the networks (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU) that aired every women's NCAA tournament game, they need to go and commision some acclaimed female songwriter to come up with a suitable song for Disney owned networks coverage of the women's tournament.
TBS/TruTV/TNT aren't Viacom/Paramount: they're Warner Bros. Discovery (though there was a period last year where it was at least rumored that some merger/acquisition activity involving WBD and PARA, so who knows what future media consolidation will bring).
No shining moment unless you pay for TBS. Remember when the game was free to watch on CBS?
Yep, greed abounds,
@@Dream244 l actually cried because l couldn't watch it.But l am okay
All good, we got illegal streams from Reddit 🤣
Yes. Used to be much better. I don't like the Final Four and title game on cable.
No one sings this some like Luther. After all these years, it still brings tears to my eyes
I did also like Teddy Pendergrass' version also during the 1990s.
Can't beat Luther Vandross singing! He could have sung a phone book back in the day (dating myself) and it would have sounded spectacular!
I love One Shining Moment. I’ll never win a national championship with any of my teams but I’ll always have this song to look back on my team’s hard work.
Needed this for women’s college basketball
Need to do it for women’ college basketball this year!
Also TEDDY PENDERGRASS performed ONE SHINING MOMENT!!!
Didn’t know that 🙂
I think his is the best version@@Dream244
It is very awesome
I DIDNT KNOW WHOM CREATED THIS SONG.LOVES THIS SONG&PLAYS IT AFTER EVERY MARCH MADDNESS ENDING.ITS GIVES ME HOPE.
I never miss it
Awesome…!
Isn't there a version sung by The late Teddy Pendergrass ?
Yes, his last version was in 1999. I think his version started in like 1993
Nothing in the women’s game last night?
One Shining Moment used to be amazing in the nineties. Now it is just overproduced and not as meaningful/impactful in my humble opinion. I didn't watch it last night, and didn't find myself missing it.
I'll skip this morning for awhile. Cornrows is back in town. Back to gma and the handsome Michael Strahan.
