    • @Dartgame 340 great point. Safety culture is cancer. Fucking live a little bit. I go overboard all the time for fun, just to go on a little swim 50 miles off the coast of Hatteras. Nice warm water out there in the Gulf Stream. The only thing that kinda scares me are the pilot whales that come outta nowhere or the odd blue or hammer head sharks. To be fair, i was a life guard in nags head for most of my twenties and I still surf almost daily. I’d consider myself an excellent swimmer with vast knowledge of the ocean in general.

      @smelltheglove2038@smelltheglove20382 жыл бұрын
    • @Dartgame 340 true the last 2 years here has gone down the toilet . But when you have pulled a few drowning people out of the water you’ll have a lot more respect for the ocean , Mother Nature doesn’t care how rich you are or how many 350hp outboards you have everyone drowns all the same kids just go down a bit quicker . The last person I rescued took me 1 1/2 hours to get in lucky I had a 7’6” mini mal not a short board or I may not have got him in

    • Part of the problem is that they drop 200k plus on a boat and then go with the absolute cheapest block of foam around your neck lifejackets on the market; for $50 to $75 you can get a decent watersports lifejacket that has minimal impact on your movement.

And I'll add that I'm neither a Republican or Democrat. But I'll go to my grave wondering why so many people idolize Donald Trump. Do we want a dictator in this country? Do folks know what Fascism is? Do you really want that in this country? And why do people vote against their own interests? The "Lets go Brandon" flags......so disrespectful. He's not the best, I agree. But man, he is trying to help this country. Ok. I'm done.

    • I just don't understand why people care so much about politicians to fly flags - especially 3 years from a presidential election. I have better things to do with my life than to promote my political views 24/7. And the people voting against interests thing is simple. If you think someone is voting against their own interests, then you don't know what their interests are. In many cases, having the the other guy lose is much more important to a voter than having themselves succeed. In that voter's mind, it's a perfectly logical decision.
