Before I had a sewing space in my home, I tied small bits of fabric to the handles of my sewing scissors so that no one would use them for anything else.
@@RussiaIsARiddle778 I have a small sewing box and always kept them in there in a safe place. I was lucky as the kids got older, they did not mess with them.
"How we wasted our time on partying, going to the cinema... Why would you do that if you could stretch fabric on an old vintage chair". You made me laugh here so hard - these were exactly our thoughts when we bought our old abandoned farm 😂 New hobbies, new skillset we all gonna master...
Yes so reminiscent of our lives. We have done several houses up over the years (no Chateau though) and the conversations goes along the lines of 'Friday, Saturday nights do you remember those? Dancing, eating out. Lazy Sunday mid mornings eating yum-cha with friends'. All gone, even if you wanted to go out you are too knackered. Enjoy the ride, your house is so beautiful.

You should definitely hold a historical fundraiser/ball once the chateau is finished. People could come dressed in period costumes from the 18th-century or 19th. It would be my dream to attend something like this. Unfortunately, Canada doesn't really have old chateau's, well, at least not near where I live.

As a owner of a upholstery shop here in US. Try to find a books on reupholstery. Always pul the back fabric down to frame . You need better scissors that hold up a good blade. We put a black dust cover on the bottom. You picked the hardest chairs to upholsterer. You did a great job .
