This is a quick overview of how to remove, clean, and re-assemble your P trap (this is part of your drain under your sink). This may help in solving your slow draining issues, or you may be able to find your ring that accidently went down the drain.
Going to tackle the job this afternoon, but it might take the afternoon to clean out the cupboard first !!!🤣
😂
Thank you. Mine has been clogged for months and I’ve been too intimidated to fix it myself. Thank you for this video.
Wonderful news! I am glad that the video helped! Thank you for watching.
Holy shit a video on KZhead actually helped, instant sub 👍🏻

Worked like a charm. First time ever trying anything plumbing related by myself and I had no issues! A bit of a gross job but it's very nice to have it done

Thank you so much, I actually lost a small metal piece in my drain and I thought it was complicated. Only took a about 5 minutes and now have a cleaner drain.
That’s great news. I’m glad that the video helped. Thank you for watching.
Did it! It took longer to put it back together, I had trouble lining it up. But, finally got it. Thanks 😊
When you are putting it back together, be careful not to cross thread it. Don’t force it back together. Once you do this several times, it will get easier to put it back together.
That was my problem! I kept getting it crooked, it took a while to get one of them on straight. It helped to loosen the one I got put together first. Then get them both started before actually tightening. Shew!
Great job!!
It work great thanks
I’m glad that I could help!
Helped a lot, appreciate it
You are welcome!!
Thanks for making this video! Worked for me!

Thanks, it worked!👍👍💖
I’m always happy to hear that! Thank you for your feedback.
Very cool thanks for the video
You are very welcome, thank you for watching.
The cold side supply line at the bottom right of the video looked like it was leaking a small bead of water. Maybe it was a drip from putting the trap back, but wanted to point it out just in case.
Thank you. There were no leaks when I was done.
Since ‘righty righty, lefty loosey’ strategy doesn’t work w/ this kind of connection, was watching to see which way you were going to twist each one as mine are super stuck. Oh well.
Have you tried to use a wrench gently on the fitting nuts to loosen those nuts?
thank you
You are very welcome!
If i separate it the same, can I push debris stuck in the metal section out the bottom?
You should be able to push things through from the sink drain to the part of the p trap under the sink.
the white thing is stuck tho and i can’t get it off
Have you tried to use a large wrench or a monkey wrench?
Is this clogging what causes one side of the sink to spit up water if I use a garbage disposal on the other side? Thanns
It is a very good possibility, but the clog could be further down the drain pipe.
@@hustleandfun ty!
Instructions unclear, spatula too wide… 🤷♂️
“2 nuts you can loosen by hand” Lmao nope definitely not 🥴
Lol, you can carefully try to loosen it with a large wrench, if it is too tight.
Do you have to shut the water off first?
You do not, since you are not working on the faucet or waterlines, unless you are afraid of someone turning on the faucet while you are cleaning the P trap.
I can't loosen these white bits with bare hands. I need to call someone do it for me
Are you able to barrow a larger wrench that fit around the pipe?
Darn it the sink looks exactly like the one I have at home, but my clog is further back in the section past the trap😕
Once you have taken the p trap apart, you may be able to use a short snake to unclog the rest of your drain.
i did this and it still leaks... i even used the snake to clean out the pipe in the back..
Please make sure that the little plastic washer or seal is not damaged before putting it all together. Also, be careful to line up the connections so that they screw together easily that they aren’t cockeyed or cross thread.
This looks relatively simple, however I am an idiot who sleeps 4 hours a day, so let's see how long this takes me lmao.
You will do just fine. Remember not to force things when you are putting it back together. Just nice snd easy, so you don’t cross thread anything.
Without gloves?????
No gloves need, but you can always wear one if you prefer. 😊
But how do your know vip sink and
I’m sorry, could you please rephrase that.
It's called u bend
I can't tighten them up again smh
Try to twist it counter clockwise at first for s few turns. After that, carefully try to twist it clockwise, making sure that you don’t rethread the P trap.
Video doesn’t explain everything about a P-trap
The P trap is the part of the drain that has the bend in it, located under the sink at the lowest point, that’s why most of the debris collects at this point. You can “run” a paper towel or a rag through it to clean it out.
Aren’t you supposed to shut the water off first?
There is no need, since you are only working on the drains, not the running water.
You showed nothing! You did nothing! You just talked what to do!!!
