Did the s9 have one UI update on it? Because Samsung definitely did some updates in the camera in portrait mode, backlit type if pictures and also shutter speed.
This is why i love photographers doing camera review, they know what they are doing instead of tech youtuber talking about camera comparison. They know 30% of photography. I can relate to this video 100% since im a photographer too. ;D

@@declankelly2449 yes. Past 4 or 5x, the images will not look very good because the phone is just cropping past the 48mm telephoto.

The skin tone test surprised me! I think they made some serious improvements on skin tones this year. MUCH more neutral!

I still think the XS nails portrait mode, but other than that, the S10 looks amazing!
Pixel is the portrait mode king for me
Bwamo The Pixel has so many other dealbreakers built into it that it doesn’t matter how good the camera is, I could never actually consider it. It’s easily the ugliest smart phone you can buy, with the worst notch and an inexplicably large chin as well. It has no headphone jack, the screen is no where near as good as the S10 or XS, and the battery life ain’t great either. I also find stock Android to be vastly overrated as well...
@@MegaTechpc I couldn't agree more with stock android being overrated! I had the Nexus 4, and finding third party apps for everything was just a chore! When I came back to android after an iPhone, the S8 blew me away with how much useful features Samsung builds into their phones! Now I'm on an S10+ and loving it!

The first time I got my Samsung Galaxy s10 and tried everything on it I fell in love with my phone,and not only that I love the camera lenses.
Pros being a late S9+ adopter: better prices with all needed software fixes already available. Cons: Samsung releases a faster model with a more novel screen (shrug), larger battery (okay cool) and an overall better camera system with an ultrawide built in (OYE WAIT WHAT?!)
That's why you gotta upgrade every 2 years,that's when the major upgrades happen
@@alexjavi13ify I'm on my fourth smartphone, went from a Galaxy S (the first one) to an HTC M7 to a Moto Z Play before the S9+; I average around that many years between upgrades I'd say, and this is a pretty significant upgrade over my last mobile. I'm actually really happy with the camera quality (except for the slow shutter speeds on the stock camera), I'm just insanely jealous of it having a built-in super-wide lens, haha. Don't really mind missing out on all the other features as much.

@@reymitonovas3800 Thanks for the tip! I'm not quite so keen to upgrade though, I literally got this phone at the end of November last year so it's got a lot of mileage in it yet. Probably gonna hold out until the S12 comes out or whatever, and besides, I can always get a @moment lens for the same effect ;)
doesn't samsung give s9 users a lot of discount to upgrade to the s10? i use a pixel 2 and i really envy how samsung takes care of their users

You had to compare zoomed crops at the same scale to compare details. What you are doing is comparing built in LUTs , which do not matter as they come with software, not hardware. Also, is S10 struggling with telephoto lens in pro mode the same way as S9 ? Thanks.

I just ordered the S10 today and mainly it's to take photos and vids when I'm traveling around. I find the s10 has wayyyy more natural features when it comes to shots although the iphone XS is a great competitor but still didn't knock shots outta the park like the s10 did.

I recently got the S10 and I am amazed by the camera options and performance. However, there is one basic option that seems to be missing: when using the timer, the camera will only take 1 shot at the end of the countdown, while I was hoping it could take at least 3 shots. So I am still very puzzled about this since cheaper Samsung galaxy models do have this option...
Definitely getting the S10+ this weekend so all I need to get is a case to use with my moment lenses 🤘

good video.. Couple of questions please. From the 10.00-10.40 mark, was any lens added to the camera for the night shots? Also the video at the 10:54-11:00 mark was nice and clear then from the 11:00 mark was so grainy....reason?

Any idea WHY there is no pro manual ability fro video mode ? Only automatic settings in video. No way to have manual exposure, aperture etc in video!!!

The only camera comparison video i am hyped for. Also try Gcam for s10 , the pixel camera on your samsung device. One thing the samsung is till missing is the pro raw for telephoto and ultra wide lens.

Wow at the wide lens inbuilt on the S10 already! In this case then would you guys still recommend a the Moment Wide 18mm for it?
My 2c an questions. 1. Wow built in super wide is really wide, almost on superfish level. 2. What about 58mm on built in tele? How's the sharpness an vignetting? 3. In Live focus: it looks wider than S9. Can you zoom in out? What focal length is used?
