  • Thank you for remembering Alyn. Found this on PetaPixel: Gifted astrophotographer, author, and educator Alyn Wallace tragically passed away last week at the young age of 34. Wallace, born in Wales, had been living in Istanbul, Turkey, where he passed away as a result of a severe infection that caused multiple organ failure. Alyn’s parents, Pauline and Ian, explain on an Instagram post announcing Alyn’s untimely passing that he had been dealing with a pre-existing condition that weakened his immune system. A recent gallbladder stone infection “spread rapidly,” and ultimately took Wallace’s life. Alyn Wallace, known for his brilliant KZhead channel, had most recently published a new video just a couple of weeks ago, which is about the same time as Alyn’s last Instagram post, seen below.

  • Lovely respects paid to Alyn Wallace. A personable talented gifted and knowledgeable young man who impacted many and will be missed. Much respect to you. I’ve seen tributes on other social media platforms but not on KZhead. Of all of the KZhead Photography community that I follow, you are the only person to make such a tribute on your channel. Kudos

  • Nice tribute to Alyn ♥. Never met him but followed his KZhead channel. He taught me so much. I was looking forward to meeting him in Kanab Utah this fall and learning oh so much more. I only recently bought his Lightroom Pre-sets for astrophotography. He was so talented. Way too young to loose such a talented person. He is missed.

  • Nice tribute to Alyn Adam. Deeply shocked to hear he's passed away and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. I also followed his KZhead channel and as well as enjoying his work in astrophotography, I felt proud to be inspired by a fellow Welshman during my photography journey. Well done for the video again Adam and fantastic images. I'm continuing to be highly influenced by you for landscape photography. Keep up the great work.

  • Very nice tribute to Alyn, Adam. I think the wonderful thing about Alyn was how he made something so vast as space seem attainable. His passion made us fall in love with it too. I remember in one of his videos he mentioned all the Starlink satellites being up in space and ruining the space-scape, if that’s a thing. Tonight I watched a Starlink launch and thought of him. Don’t think any of us will look up to the stars again and not think of Alyn. I hope he knew how well liked he was. 😌 - - - - Looks like a fantastic area. Beautiful photos and always. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hello Adam, Very nice tribute to Alyn. My wife and I were on that Antarctica cruise with you , Alyn, Nigel and James. One day were in a Zodiac with Alyn photographing whales. He was in front of me and my wife and asked how I was keeping my lens so dry. I told him I was using him as a shield. Vey nice photos.

  • It is interesting to see the photographic aesthetic evolving. I mean, that is what it looks like to me over these last few years. More photographers looking for some thing, some perspective, which has not yet been explored a great deal. Some nice images, Adam...as usual.

  • so sad about Alyn, i am off for a weeks stay in Elgol in three weeks, years ago, we used to travel the 550 miles in my 1968 Austin Healey Sprite, that would invariably fail with starter motor problems, luckily Elgol has plenty of down hill roads for bump starting. , and Great images

  • It's a tricky place that Elgol. On my last visit it was impossible to see the Cuillins due to poor visibility. Your patience and tenacity got your some very nice shots. Just to echo all the other comments about your thoughtful tribute to Alyn's life. To be honest, I was really hoping that you'd say something, and you did - so big respect to you Adam. What a terribly sad and irreplaceable loss. Only because you mention it in your video, you'll be aware now that Alyn's family has released a statement which included clarification on the cause.

  • Thanks for the video, Adam. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. As always you have brilliant shots in this video, I envy your talent in a very kind way. I'm a landscape photographer too (not as cool as you). There is a lot to see and photograph in the country where I live. If you ever find yourself in Serbia, I will be glad to show you the rare and untouched nature in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula. Sometimes I can't believe that I am the only person for miles around, and that at this very moment I am only a couple of hours flight away from the main European capitals. Congratulations again on the stunning shots: the ring stone is fantastic!

  • Cheers Adam, this is Sean in Atlanta. My condolences to you and your friends, family and associates on his passing. This is never an easy thing to deal with, especially when it is so sudden and unexpected. While I personally am not familiar with him, I will re-look at the video you spoke of, but know that my thoughts, prayers and wishes go out to you and anyone who is hurting because of this gentleman’s passing. I think we have reached the stage where life has ceased to give us as much as it is taking away… Sean
