I’ve noticed most steel soul runs end to random enemies instead of bosses. It’s probably because everyone knows to prepare for watcher knights but nobody understands the terror of the pickaxe
The true final boss was pickaxe all along
I beat watcher knights and path of pain but died to marmu
Could be worse. Could’ve died to vengefly

Quin playing Hollow knight and botw are my absolute favorites. I think it's because the main characters in both can just so easily portray Quin's feral tiny goblin energy.

Ah, good old Quin Hollow Knight is back. Missed this so much.
Fun thing about the hornet boss theme, it has elements of both the Mantis Lords theme and the more standard Hollow Knight theme that's used pretty commonly throughout the game. Since she was the Pale King's daughter but was actually mainly raised by the weavers and mantises, the themes get melded together for her. I'm not sure if the weaver part of her background is really represented in the song but that's probably more because the only weaver-related music is pretty muted/spooky and wouldn't fit as well in a boss fight.
Where in the game does it say she was raised by the mantises? Pretty sure it was just the weavers, with the original idea of her also being raised by the Hive (hence the name hornet) since team cherry has an interview mentioning that hornet was originally supposed to be the “daughter of three queens”
@@Glassgord I don't remember the specific line, but I think hornet has one line mentioning her training with the mantises. Or maybe it's on a lore tablet. Honestly lore is really hard to pin down in this game but I'm sure I remember Mossbag going into it in one of his videos. Maybe "raised" isn't the right word, they trained her to fight though.

The best tip for steel soul is to do mawlek as soon as humanly possible so you don't have to worry about losing your entire run to it later

fun fact time! steel soul is usually made easier by the fact that death doesn't count in dream nail areas! However, this does not apply to the king's palace. Which I did not know. 20 hours gone. Please learn from my mistake.

The first steel soul run I did, I had all the dreamers and 7 masks and was ready to fight the hollow knight, but I wanted a nail upgrade. I went to get the pail ore on Hallownests crown. When I was there, I was at the end and a crystal fly thing shot it’s thing and I kept respawning on top of it until I was dead

I started playing this game a few months ago and beat Steel Soul plus 100% a few weeks back on my first try. I did a lot of practice beforehand and then went very slowly and cautiously getting a lot of nail and mask upgrades early. Now trying to practice the real speedrun route and it's kicking my butt (Watcher Knights with no upgrades).
Quin has an entrance to the backrooms I'm sure that adds value to that home right
