    • We've had some fairly close racing the past few years with not overly big time gaps at the end of 3 weeks. Even if there was undetected doping (microdosing?) it was still leaving a fairly open field with some uncertainty as to who would win. This is one person who is far and above any other rider around. How? I can quite understand the scepticism given the last person to dominate this race the same way was L.A. That said, Ineos are being tacticaly poor in counteracting Pogacar.

Or were the slightly heavier riders better shelted from the harsh conditions (Nils Polit and Jonas Rutsch both stuck with the GC group and only droppend when Thomas starting pacing really hard, something we do not usually see).

The term was originally used for those mountain roads where cars were not expected to be able to pass. The HC climb is the most difficult type of climb in a race.

Also, you guys seem to forget the impact of bad weather on many riders' performances. Only few can perform well in the rain, especially on back to back mountain stages after this hard classics stage of 249km , so that's one reason for these seemingly crazy gaps.

Same goes for top level amateurs, esp. runners and cyclists. I just think, that the performances we have seen are not out of this world and are not enough to make me believe there is a "new juice" that, for example, Pogacar and Bahrain, are using that the other teams and riders are not. Maybe they are, but Pog's performance at Col de Romme is not a good example for a obviously "juiced" one. It wouldn't be a surprise if Bahrain and/or Pogacar get caught, but the same goes for ANY pro. The mentality is the same as ever, otherwise they wouldn't ingest huge loads of Salbutamol because of their "asthma". For example.
