Scott - solid tips for getting started with your beard Trimming your sideburns, and cutting in a neck line shows some effort as you are growing out your beard - it also shows that you are being intentional about growing your beard out, and will help mitigate some of the awkward phases - you aren't just "not shaving" you're taking the next step of growing your beard

push through the dreaded awkward stage, its worth it..thankfully i was able to wear my face mask whenever i went out to hide it lol...now im past that stage and my beard looks dope

Any tips for someone with a mustache that is growing? I have had my beard for over a year now. my mustache I have always trimmed down short but now I am letting it grow long but it is growing in all different directions very awkward
I'm kinda lucky my beard does not seem to go through an awkward stage, there is the itchy stage for the first week of growth and then it's like "poof" I got a beard now. And it just gets thicker from there. I do need to look into wax or something for my mustache though. I usually just trim it but I might try to let it grow this year and just tame it to go around the mouth. Been letting my hair grow too, I've always had a short haircut and decided to try something new.
I am currently in the awkward stage but I am trusting the process

That's a lot of grooming. Looks nice and tidy. Myself I'm growing out to a 6 month natural beard. I use oil and I comb and that's it. 2 months it looked pretty awful but I keep going cause it's the 6 month beard I want. Patience is key . Yes you can do clean ups but not necessary. Get to the desired length then your ready to do the shaping just like a hedge. But each to their own. I respect your dedication.

Im into a month. Lot of guys says it itches them. It doesnt me. It stabs me. It feels like like a cactus hugging my face. I condition. Beard oil it. It still stabbing after the oil. The conditioner seems to be more effective in softening it but because it so uncomfortable its hard to put up with this stage untill it grows long enough to stop. Please help.
I've been growing mine out for around 2 months now. It's looking a bit... meh. To be fair, it's looking quite full but not the length I want yet - Something similar to you - but I'm struggling with those wild hairs that just spring up every which way even with product and blow drying them straight. Worst still is the stache! I'm going for the full stache like you good sir, problem is I feel like I need to trim it because of food woes etc, plus I feel like I constantly have my hands in my face trying to re-position hairs that fall down on my lip., which is both annoying and makes me look like I have a nervous tick. So my question is Scott, how long did you grow that stache for and how did you go about keeping it trim whilst growing it? Inspiring as always!
To get to that stage it usually takes me about 3 months. Everything is going to get into your mustache its up to you to protect it from those elements. Keep growing stone its a true struggle but a great reward!!!
I'm not to the 2 month stage yet..I've been shaving my neck line up to my jaw line but have not been for a couple of weeks now...I will press on with it.

I am a 30 year old male, I have white hair just under my bottom lip and the hair on my lower lip is very week, is there any advise to make the white hairs change to black?.
So I’ve been growing a chin beard for about six months and it’s about 6-8 inches long. I’ve cut down to bare skin on my cheeks. I want to grow a full beard. Should I cut my chin beard off and grow everything out uniformly/together for a better look or is there a way to do this without having to chop off what I currently have?
