I recently bought a little-used Bolton ZX45, which looks nearly identical to your mill. I don't have it running yet, but will when I have more time. I have other pressing activities. Also bought an ancient, Atlas lathe. Wish I had a more modern one, but will be looking into that in the future. Thanks for showing us how your repair was made. It was concise and without useless talking! Kudos!

From being a welder for 30 years, make absolutely sure you wear sleeves when Tig welding Aluminum. It will give you Sunburn much faster than welding Steel.
@steamfan71473 жыл бұрын
Wow, no shit?! Why is that? I'm guessing it's emitting more UV light than it does with steel but I wonder why that is. The conductivity of the metal being Tig welded?
@BengtRosini133 жыл бұрын
Huh, I never would have thought you could get sunburn from welding but it makes sense
@MrFlyingSquirl3 жыл бұрын
@@BengtRosini13 Reflectivity, pure Aluminum the base metal being welded is bright finished and highly reflective. So it reflects more light and also more UV. Welding jackets and gloves are very cheap insurance against flash burns and later possibilities of skin cancer.
@darinareyacrazyman15053 жыл бұрын
@@BengtRosini13 Like mentioned, it's highly reflective, as is stainless steel. The first time I welded Aluminum was with a Mig. I welded for about 30 minutes. These were not the made in China sold on eBay belts these were straight from the manufacturer. I just think that something has changed in the making of these belts. I used to be able to use a belt until there was nothing left of it. Now if I can get through one day I'm lucky. I wish I was like yourself when you need something you're able to make it yourself. Making the mount beefier comes with the risk of break the mill head assembly next time it is over stressed. It will be way harder to fix then. The break saved your mill from a worse fate. Would be safer to fix mount to be as strong as original to protect the mill head.

Auch, when the milling head droppen on that pallet xD Hope it didn't take any further damage from that drop. And then the belt grinder of course also broke its belt... some luck you have there :P Great video nonetheless :)
Your work very detail * I really enjoy watching your work excellent brain engineering
This is interesting as I have the same machine, different colour and name but made in the same factory. I'm hoping I can improve how accurate and rigid it is.
Congrats on the TIG welder my friend !! You will wonder how you went so long without one.
A great achievement; your boxes should always check loads👍👍👍👍👍

Greetings. Dobje.
Speechless brilliant
Fantastic idea
Отличная работа👍
great repair😁👍 one question though, if it was possible to take the broken piece off like you did why not get a new one, or another used one and do a video on replacing it? not complaining was a great video awesome repair that will outlast the entire machine 😁👍😁
Making the mount beefier comes with the risk of break the mill head assembly next time it is over stressed. It will be way harder to fix then. The break saved your mill from a worse fate. Would be safer to fix mount to be as strong as original to protect the mill head.
Parabéns pelo trabalho nota dez. muito 👍🏼👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Awesome workplace
