  • Thank you! I just switched to a new tray and there's suddenly a gap around the sides of my back two molars on the right. The previous tray fit perfectly so I was very worried. There's no buttons on those teeth so I'm not sure how they're going to extrude to fill that space, but given the angle they're at that seems the most likely reason for the gap. I see my provider in 6 days, so I'm going to keep wearing them and bring up any concerns if I still have them when I go in. You saved me from being panicked all night until I could call the doctor's office in the morning.

  • Thank you! I’m a little confused by my bottom front teeth not tracking well. They snap into place and fit my molars great, but haven’t been fitting my bottom front 4 teeth for a month now. I went to my ortho and he just did IPR on my bottom teeth as he said they didn’t have enough room to move up (extrude), but after a week in a new tray since then, my teeth are still haloing on those 4. The bottom 4 are definitely extruding but at different rates. Now I have one bottom tooth that’s higher than the other 3, and 2 of them (my incisors) are barely moving up. I started using chewies but haven’t had much success with them. I asked my ortho if I should call if they continue to halo but he said it wasn’t a big deal if it was just those 4. I feel like his strategy is to keep going since everything else is great and maybe fix those that aren’t tracking with refinements later? I’m not sure.

    @kellievanellie@kellievanellie2 жыл бұрын
    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with others. It sounds like you have figured out your ortho’s strategy. It’s not uncommon to need additional aligners to refine the case. Good luck with your treatment.

  • Your advices are always on point. I have a question about my aligners. I am on my 3rd pair. I am already wearing it for 3 weeks already and also doing my chewie exercise. All of my teeth are tracking but only one of my tooth (front tooth on the left) weirdly there is still a halo about 0.5mm space left. Is this fine? Can i change into my next pair?

    @comeMent@comeMent2 жыл бұрын
    • 0.5 mm is very small and the space may be needed as part of your plan. The best thing to do is to take a picture and email it to your treating provider for their advice. Only he/she has your treatment information.

  • Hello and Happy New Year! Your videos are so informative, thank you for such good service. I'm 54, with some nice size gaps, 3 missing teeth ( one on each side of my top row and one on the bottom left back) my Invisalign provider has me switching out my trays every 4 days. Also I just started ( I'm on day 6). I was told if I did traditional braces it would take 18 months by another dentist. My current Invisalign provider is saying 6 months to complete treatment ( about 50 trays). I did not suggest this pace but I was surprised and excited when she told me the plan. She is not my regular dentist just my Invisalign provider. Also I'm leaving the country for the first 2 1/2 months of treatment ( they gave me 38 trays), I will not meet with her in person from tray 1-38. Does this make sense to you? I was told by other dentist that I would have to check in for the first month weekly. If it does do you have any tips for such a long tray run?

  • When I wear my aligner, there's a tooth that is not totally fit with the aligner, I think this is because that tooth is not as tall as the other teeth around it, and only that tooth and there is no attachments on it, is that okay??

  • First of all, greetings! I wish you a good day. As someone who has undergone an orthodontic examination, I would like to ask a question because some of the things my doctor told me are not clear in my mind. For my slightly overbite and crooked teeth, I asked my doctor whether a veneer/zirconium treatment or traditional orthodontic treatment would be appropriate. He stated that the results of both treatments would be similar and effective, but that the classical orthodontic treatment would be more beneficial for general facial aesthetics by changing the "jaw posture" more optimally. Frankly, I was a little confused at that moment, but I did not have the opportunity to ask additional questions. What exactly do you think is the situation my doctor is talking about here, how traditional orthodontics improve the jaw posture more effective than the veneers/zirconium teeths ? Thank you in advance.

    @KB-jm1cr@KB-jm1cr2 жыл бұрын
    • Without an in person examination, it would be hard to say. Perhaps you need some bite correction that orthodontic treatment can improve. Reach out to your dental provider for clarification.

  • Hello Doctor, I have a question 🤔 Can you choose to do both and have the Hawly retainer for the day and the invisible comfortable retainer for the night? And would you suggest that I do braces again, because it's been 10 years since my braces were off and since I last had my retainer(mainly because they got ran over)and I have felt the effects of my teeth moving, intensely.

    @magicelfyonanisle3354@magicelfyonanisle33542 жыл бұрын
    • Most people just stick with one type of retainer. As far as retreat, it varies on an individual basis. You can get a consultation with an orthodontist to see what your options are.

  • Can not tracking properly cause a wiggly tooth ? I have no cavity on the tooth but notice it is moving more than others. I haven’t been wearing my aligners enough

    @OlympianVenus@OlympianVenus Жыл бұрын
  • This explains more. I'm on tray 17, been wearing it 10 days now. I can't get my upper lateral incisor to come down at all. It's seated properly with the attachment in it's hole and all my other teeth are seated properly so would using a chewie not be pushing it up into the gum and not down? The tooth aches from always chewing there. Incredibly frustrating process, kinda wish I didn't start braces 🙈

    @michellemurray4197@michellemurray4197 Жыл бұрын
    • Great observation. Chewing on the lateral engages/fully seats the aligner and helps with lateral extrusion. If the attachment is fully engaged, then it’s likely the neighboring teeth that are not intruding. Chewing (intrusion forces) on the adjacent teeth may help. Talk to your treating provider for their input as only they have access to your plan. Good luck.

  • I have a teeth in the molar they need to close, the tech forgot to put the attachments. After my 2 months visit from one day of attachment, I complain to my Ortho It does no attachment, she said it’s OK but i am wearing for 1 year the that molar move sideways and tilted because its not tight and it causing problems its bite my checks i put wax on it. But then I just continue wearing, during my refinements the tech forget to put the attachment again, i told her there is an attachment for that she said its ok, I talk to my Ortho she said did you put the attachment on the one molar? No. You have to put that on that is causing her problems, so she put the attachment. Ortho said make sure that is tight. From 53 trays, refinements 39 trays.

    • Sorry to hear that you didn't get the answers you were looking for. I don't do any teledentistry consultations. My recommendation is that you request to schedule a treatment consult with your orthodontist to get some clarification. One thing I tell my own patients is that ultimately, it really doesn't matter how the teeth look in aligners, only how the teeth look at the end. Oftentimes, experienced orthodontist will program overcorrection into aligners to get the ideal finish, which can result in "halos." Good luck.

  • Hi Melissa! I'm on tray 9. I used to wear my aligner for 7 days but I've always needed an extra 3 days- so my orthodontist changed my days to 10 days per aligner. My orthodontist has provided me with an app called, Dental Monitoring- so I scan my teeth on the app and they let me know if I can move on or not to the next aligner. I've been needing to wear this particular aligner 9 for a long time... today is day 16 wearing it, and I scan again on Dental Monitoring in 6 days to see if I can move on or not- my orthodontist said it's needs more work on my lower. For me, top is perfect and all of my lower are perfect except for one teeth, one of my bottom canine. Do you think it will move into place? I've been using chewies and I've worn this tray for a while and it seems to still have a gap, in my eyes. Sorry for the long paragraph but feedback will really help! Love your videos so so much :)

    • No need to wait 30 min to brush. These desist go over board with stuff and can never make up their mind. People throughout the world use tools as tools and not cosmetic devices and their teeth are fine. According to some dentist be careful even breathing or that might mess your teeth. Also, you can eat with your Invisilign, especially if you're trays are short term. Just take thn off after eating and clean them, and clean with water and then you can brush your teeth later

  • Another tip… before you start, pick a doctor who gives a sh*t like this lady. I have learned more from her than the dentist, not orthodontist (bad choice) that I am doing this with. I was given 5 aligned and told absolutely Nothing and sent on my way. As soon as my Invisalign treatment is up (already paid in full. Also a bad choice I made) I will be changing doctors. This guy is going to lose out on about 30k in further work I need to get done just because I certainly would never trust him again to work WITH me instead of just ignore my questions and concerns.
