The wait it over! After countless requests, we are excited to have Michael Sheen join Rob this week all the way from St. Lucia. They talk about Michael’s career journey, starting in Youth Theatres in Wales to starring in Hollywood films and West End & Broadway shows. They also chat about when Michael Sheen was duped into pranking Kate Beckinsale on the same day Rob was staying with him in LA for laser eye surgery!

  • As a Welsh person, I love how much welshier your accent gets when you talk to another Welsh person!

    • Yeah, because we put it on mostly. Matthew Rhys is from Cardiff and in this he sounds like me - the valleys. Sounds great though: fantastic actor, and cool guy. But that's affected. I have a theory that we all attemp to - and think that - we all sound like Richard Burton to the English et al. The deep dark voice of the green valleys and all that

    • Truth! I left Wrexham for the USA 30+ years ago and I still slip right back into it within 2 minutes when I go back. It’s truly the most lyrically pleasing accent.

    • This is very true. I lived in the west country in England and every time I came home the boys would tease me on how English I sounded so they guilted me into over Welshing. The other factor is alcohol. In England my English chummies loved to point out that after about 2 pints the Welshness would creep out

Geniuses of Welsh comedic banter: Brydon, Sheen and the (Rob: "I don't like the man"; Sheen:"Nobody does") hysterically funny but absent from this interview Matthew Rhys. In these gloomy days, you three glorious Welshman make the world a better place, and, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for it!!!!!!!!! • "... 'cause our parents went to church together." Small places! I'm of a similar age, a million miles away in Brisbane, but I could have a very similar conversation with a confused third person about how a friend and I hadn't known each other for our first 30 or 40 years, but that our mothers had gone to primary school together and were still corresponding (with real letters) 70 years on. And whilst I've often heard Michael promoting Wales or quoting Thomas or what have you, but he's never seemed *so* Welsh as in this interview. Rob, there's probably a Grant in that from Llywodraeth Cymru Arts, Sport & Culture!
