I'm proud to be a Jamaican descendant(on my father's side) & my father & my mother was a fan of both Bob & Ziggy Marley however, my father from Southside Jamaica Queens, New York.   • I was at his estate 9 miles in Jamaica on a tour in November last year. I’m 45 yrs old and this was by far my happiest moment I never anticipated in my life. His music means so much to me, I touched his “ on my single bed” sat on the rock he wrote his songs and then touched his grave. This was nothing I anticipated, if you love Bob you need to go to 9 miles and please don’t watch his tour it on KZhead, go there for a surprise of a lifetime. I can’t wait to see his movie. He was a real Legend.

  • Imagine, big big NFL star wey just born de odder day can pay homage to BOB and all now BOB can't get national Hero in Jamaica. Rihanna just born de odder day and Ms. Motley gave her national hero status. Jamaica Jamaica. 😕 Yes it's my country, I was born there and spent most of my life there but sometimes I get so frustrated. Every year they honor the same set of politicians yet can't give BOB his proper recognition. Me fed up!

Unnu listen the music and still don't get it. He doesn't need government approval to be a Hero. Bob is a bigger "hero" in the eyes of the nation than Sam Sharpe and Nanny, which is a bit sad honestly, and yet the reality. So no one needs paper validation, especially not from people literally PAID and determined to keep Jamaica a divided, poverty stricken, 3rd world nation. It's 2024 and we still have communities without roads, plumbing, and ppl still a rig current fi charge dem phone. Stop expecting our Government to give a fxck about anything progressive or sensible. It will never happen. All they do is posture. Bob is literally more than a cash cow for them they'll never honor him in sincerity.

Our government simply doesn't respect the arts (music, film, dancing, crafting, painting, etc.) They use the negative to dismiss the positive and throw the whole thing away. Instead of promoting positive art over negative.
