  • We just bought and installed two of these. So far all our blinks have been a workhorse. Winters in ND are not kind to stuff outside and all of our outdoor blinks always work.

  • I just installed yesterday and so far I like it. The lights are very bright and the sensor picks up everything. This replaces a battery Blink I had in the front that is always eating batteries. I had to install a junction box on brick above the garage and run the wiring from the garage door opener. The drilling through the brick and fishing the wire were a chore as my masonry bits weren’t long enough but I got her done. I still need to seal it up.

  • Can the floodlight be run at night at a dimmed brightness and then when it detects motion it can switch to a brighter setting?

  • So if this is replacing a light that I turn on with a switch, will it still turn on when I flip the switch or only when there is motion outside? Thanks

  • I'm supporting my folks with an installation of the wired units and your detailed review / description is very helpful! One thing which I didn't see discussed was the silicone sealant application specified in the instructions. If you permanently installed the wired unit at the location shown in the video, how did you seal the unit against the electrical box?

    • Hi! Thanks for watching. Instead of using the silicone sealant I used duct sealing tape. (not to be confused with duct tape). The sealant would make the unit more waterproof but after yellow jackets ate through the sealant and built a massive hive inside my siding last year, I went with the heavy duty aluminum tape.

  • Why would running more than 4 cameras on two different modules be beneficial? Would it make the wireless cams faster? Thanks

    @Domerfly@Domerfly8 ай бұрын
    • Hi! Having 2 modules is good if you do not want all your footage in one module and I have found you do not want to overload the module if possible because it's still processing all the data over 2.4g.

    • @@TheFrenchGlow ah ok. Makes sense. Thanks for this info. Appreciate it. I’ll get another one. I’ve been getting the wireless cameras going offline. I wonder if having a second module close to the cameras will help this

  • I dont have an existing floodlight so would i be able to install it where my porch light is currently. (I hope i explained it right)

    @laladeville8984@laladeville898410 ай бұрын
    • Hi! You need wired power to power the light. Without power and an electrical box, you will not be be install the Floodlight. In this case, a battery powered Floodlight would be better. But you have to recharge the battery more frequently (sometimes every month if you have a high sensitivity level)

  • Does this unit take a micro SD card to store videos, if no, how does it store them without paying for a Blink plan?

    • I use a memory stick, low profile Samsung 256gb. Uses a standard usb size, so memory stick is what you want

  • When my house electric power is out, will my WiFi also be stopped? And wireless cameras are disconnected?

    @timothywong2038@timothywong20386 ай бұрын
    • hi, Yes if power goes out, the blink will shut off. No feed. 1 benefit of a battery powered cam but you would still need backup power for the router/cable modem.

  • It didn't come with the correct screws, which sucks to discover at the top of a ladder. They would screw in far enough to hold the bracket tight.

    • Hi! I protected mine using aluminum duct tape but you can waterseal your unit depending on how flush you can get your Floodlight with your house siding/brick/etc.
