Actually, a scaffold is much for this type of work problem is he needs a proper plank...not 2x4's 😂

Line boring machinery that is too heavy or costly to move is a ‘no brainer’. This is done routinely by shipyard machinists. No matter the cost…it’s still cheap. Kudos to these guys!
So....all structual integrity is still compromised. That arm has no where near its factory standard of strengh anymore.

That was very satisfying to watch. And in lieu of a step ladder, that looks to be a small bit of scaffolding. Perhaps more stable and comfortable to use on uneven ground.

This is definitely one handy s.o.b. to have around. I did find it funny how he has all those nice expensive tools but no step-ladder. I guess you gotta try to save where you can.
Better without a step ladder because scaffold gives wider, more rigid platform; and has adjustable legs for uneven terrain. I would add some step plates or scaffold boards to make it more comfortable though.
Good work and to be honest it’s just designed machinery once trained on it really anyone can do it but still neat to see the engineering thought process on it.

A lot of these video show people working. It takes skill but one part of their work is missing. SAFTY! If he keeps welding without protection, he’s going to become blind. So many videos lack the safety. Would be impressive. If not the lack of safety.

In my honest opinion you will never need a repair like this. Just replace the bushing... but if you never grease your tools, this will happen. Own fault...
