  • As a mom of two I always find it interesting how people will preach respect to other people's bodies and decisions, but will judge how a woman wants to birth their baby. Sending all the love and best wishes to your sweet family ❤️

    • Nobody cares, but it’s really healthier for the baby to be born normally and there’s a reason it comes to the birth canal. It takes all the fluids out of it. It gives it a hearty start in the world. But if you’re gonna be on KZhead telling people things you’re going to have people expressing their opinions. Hopefully she has a good delivery no matter how it is in a healthy baby.

  • I appreciate u being so open with us. I had a c-section in January. I was induced and in labor for 36 hrs only 6cm dilated. And the baby’s heart rate kept dropping so I told them let’s do a C-section. Best decision I made. It was super quick and baby was healthy. Definitely want to do another C-section if there’s a next time

  • Power to you for talking about this and thank you! I had my son when I was 18 and it was a 3 day labour with a second degree tare. I’ve never spoke of it as traumatic or an awful experience but when I look back at it, it was insane! It’s so important for parents to be and feel empowered to make the right choice not only for them and their safety but babies safety too. It’s so awful that we live in a world where people feel so entitled and in control of other peoples life. As if they know better than you and Josh, doctors and nurses and midwives and close family and friends. I started watching you guys when poppy was six months, it’s been so beautiful to watch you all grow and evolve. I wish you a happy, quick, easy and incredible birth for your perfect teenie boy! I wish for a quick and healthy recovery and for you all to just enjoy and soak in all there is to enjoy and soak in with having two babies at once 🥰 all the love and light in the world 🤍🙏🏻🤍

  • I can relate to these thoughts completely. Had an emergency c-section with my baby even though at the time thought it was the worst case scenario. But since I had no choise that was the way to go. Had a great experience, it was hard in the begining but still right after and now 1,5 years later looking back I think it was the best case for me. If I get pregnant again might have a scheduled one. I feel nervous about VBAc since I havent experienced it. Congrats about your new baby!

  • I am a birth doula and so people often expect me to be actively against c-sections and medication. But I wholeheartedly believe that there are times when a c-section is the best choice for a mom! As long as you feel comfortable with your choice that’s all that matters. You are still bringing life into the world and it’s still amazing and beautiful. Congratulations ❤

    • @@kaybeeeee9640 I did know that. I also believe that there are a million different things to consider when deciding what you are and are not okay with during your birth. There are many benefits to a vaginal delivery, that doesn't mean it's always the best option. It also doesn't mean that everyone HAS to want to take that path. I encourage doing your research and learning the benefits and risks of every option so that you can make an informed decision for yourself. Because everyone is different, they have a different situation, different needs, different values, etc. and I will never judge someone else's choice because I will never be able to tell what is best for them as well as they can. I am not them, it is not my birth, and so it's not my place to decide what's best. I would much rather a mom decide to have a c-section and leave the hospital happy, healthy, and bonding with her baby than to peer pressure a mom into having a vaginal delivery against her better judgement and end up with a mom who is traumatized, at higher risk of PPD/PPA, and feeling resentment towards her baby due to a difficult birth experience that could've been avoided.

    • @@kaybeeeee9640 I am well aware of the statistics and will happily share them with a mom who is interested. I understand that when c-section rates are low, maternal and infant mortality rates drop along with them. If I were to share my own personal opinion, I would advocate to let nature take its course. However like I said, that is my PERSONAL opinion, it's what I would choose for myself. But I am not going to push my personal values onto another person. Not my birth, not my place. My job is to support the birthing person in THEIR needs, wants, and values. Not to try and get them to adhere to mine.

  • My sister is a L&D nurse and she wanted to have C-Sections because she says healing is faster. However, when she went into labor- the doctor was the worst one of the group and she (nor the midwife) did NOT want him doing her c-section so the midwife and team kept trying to help my nephew come out. He was stuck. He finally cooperated - haha- and had a cone head. All that to say- make your own mind up about what is good for you and don't worry about the Karen's on here. You're so sweet and I wish you the BEST!!

  • I have negative views of a C-section because I had one natural birth and one c section and both deliveries were so different. My C-section experience was much more painful and such a difficult recovery. My core is shot after a C-section and I am having to do physical therapy to help with healing. I have learned that many woman never really receive the right recovery treatment after C-section. It leads to more pelvic floor issues. So many layers of muscles are cut through so it makes sense. I completely understand they are necessary in some cases and understand why you are choosing one. You do what you feel is best for you. Everyone’s birth story is different and a personal decision. All the best! ❤

    • Yeah but it’s not healthy u Cnt rlly only afford to have 3 section Cnt keep reopening a wound if it’s not an emergency, she did this c section again bcs she experienced it already she didn’t need to have one. With Poot she did bcs she wasn’t laying how a baby should lay when it’s time to come out but she literally did this for fun. She has 1-2 more c sections and after that the doctor will tell her no more bcs it can be life threatening. She messed up big especially cuz we know she wants to have a big family so idk I think she will have regrets but I also Cnt say much tht is her body I just hope she did her research and that she knows all this.

I feel it comes with it’s risks. It is a major surgery. When it comes down to it it is a personal decision and everyone who has has a baby before or is planning to definitely has their opinions, which you can’t argue with someone’s opinion or freedom to choose.

Like I said Poot was an emergency imagine she uses all her c section on her kids and when she rlly needs one she Cnt have one bcs of risk and has to get it done anyway, thts gonna mess with her especially cause once you on labor it’s already stressful enough. Fortunately in my case it worked I was able to have a vaginal birth. But I also recognize that it doesn't work for a lot of women and in some cases it cannot even be attempted because of the position of the baby, amount of amniotic fluids, umbilical cord etc. However you choose to deliver your baby is great as long as it's safe. So weird to be so super involved in and opinionated on how others deliver. You're doing great! Wish you and your family all the best 🙂❤️

Fast forward 8.5 years to my 2nd birth. Even though it was so long after they still offered a c-section. I also had placenta previa until right before she was ready to come. Recovery was a little harder in my 30s vs 20s but I also had my tubes tied while they were in there. I still moved our whole house during my 6 weeks maternity leave with a newborn, so I still consider it a win. Good luck, you got this!

So with the 2nd born, 11 years later, it was easy to just decide on another c section. The c section scar could tear & because that area was still very sensitive it was better for them to take out the old scar. It was better decision for me. The 2nd scar is not as sensitive so that in itself was a good choice for me. Do what is right for you emotionally & physically. All the best. Love from South Africa :)

I am having a third within the next week weeks (I’m 36 weeks) and we are doing a scheduled c-section because it has become clear that my body cannot do labor correctly and threatens the baby’s life. People judge decisions to flippantly but realistically this is your decision and going into my third, I know this is just what birth looks like for me and I’m at peace with that. It’s okay to feel different, it’s not okay for everyone to judge so harshly. You guys are so open about your life, if people have hate to spread, they can keep it moving.

  • I had a C section with my first after 55 hours of labor. My second I had a successful VBAC. The labor and delivery was much smoother with the VBAC but my recovery was actually sooo much harder which I was not expecting. Had a pelvic floor injury that made me on bed rest for months and retained placenta landing me in the ER after hemorrhaging at home. If I have a third, I’d consider a scheduled C section!

As advice, I can tell you: -DO NOT SLEEP AT LEAST 2 HOURS AFTER THE OPERATION, YOU WILL BE LEFT WITH HORRIBLE HEADACHES - to start walking as quickly as possible but never overexert yourself because I fainted walking down the hall because I didn't have the necessary strength yet. -Do not eat foods that can make you bloated because it will be difficult to go to the bathroom afterwards. drink as many liquids as possible, simple chicken or vegetable soups (carrot, potato...) excluded (peas, beans...) -do not lift weights for at least 6 weeks -rest as much as possible -you might be itchy during the operation but don't scratch yourself

  • So right about how birth plans can change in a second. I think it’s actually pretty smart to go for a c-section. A little less room for error of craziness in a way. I just had a baby five months ago and when I was in labor, I went to the hospital with my contractions were two minutes apart. They were excruciatingly painful, but I wasn’t dilating, even though my contractions went to less than a minute apart. so they gave me some medicine and sent me home telling me to go home and sleep for 8 to 10 hours and come back active labor. Except as soon as I left the hospital, I started dilating and I made the 25 minute drive home got in the tub for 10 minutes and then started to drive back because my water broke and it was black and green. On the way back to the hospital the contractions kept getting more painful and close together because I was fighting them because I had recognized them as pushing contractions. Eventually, I just went with it and I ended up giving birth on interstate 5 while my husband was driving. ❤

  • I chose to have a c-section instead of a vbac after my first was born and it was the best choice I could’ve made. With my first, I tried to have a vaginal delivery and after many hours of labor and hours of pushing, I had to have a C-section, the recovery from having my first baby was so traumatizing and horrible that when I got pregnant with my second (only 6 months post partum) I chose to have a scheduled C-section. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I could not imagine going through the same thing that I experienced with my first. Abbie, you made the choice that you felt was best for you and your baby. That’s all that matters!

There are records of presidents wives having 9 c sections! It’s not impossible! Good luck and maybe consider looking into a different obgyn

  • I’ve always been a person to not understand why doctors tell you to wait a good bit of time after having one baby, to get pregnant again. UNTIL … I got pregnant a year after my first. Only ended up making it to 26 weeks in November because my uterus ruptured from a window in my previous emergency C-section scar. My sons birth injuries were too severe and complicated, and he passed 2 days later. I’m really only speaking of it to spread awareness about the real realities of the-not so “rare” anymore-complication. So always try to give yourself the time you need to heal. During the second c-setion they discovered my uterus had ruptured but not much could have caused me a hemorragie. My baby glady was safe and he is now 10month old! Also I tried to birth naturally the second time bc people where saying to me to not have a csetion that i am not a real mother. Anyway. • I had to have a c section with our first because she was breech. We also tried having her moved and it didn't work. They couldn't get the epidural to work, so I got put under general anesthesia. I am so sad that I didn't get to see her when she was born. Since the epidural didn't work, I didn't have the pain controlled, so I was in terrible pain. It scared us!! Our youngest daughter I had wanted to try to do a vbac. She was such a big girl, and they told me that I couldn't go into regular labor. This time, I had a great anesthesiologist, and the epidural worked. So it was so much better the whole way around. She wasn't as big as they thought she was, though. So I totally don't blame you for wanting the same experience as with Poppy. I don't know why people would make comments on how you choose to have your baby. It's difficult and painful afterwards, just in different areas. Good luck with everything and I can't wait to see baby J.
