  • How do the tractors with LSW tires do in muck like that? Better, worse, same? I remember the 70’s and the guy we hired to combine for us with his IH 915. With the small tires on it that machine got stuck if you just sneezed on the ground. IH put tires on it the same size as on a 40hp tractor that weighed 1/5th as much. What were they thinking?

  • All these people saying why not wait until its dry!! It won't get drier! This is a salvage job, either try your best to cut it now, or leave it rot. Wet weather is not foreseen when the maize is planted, you have to make the best of a bad situation.

    • when the crop is ready for harvest, its usually not possible to wait for perfect weather to dry the lands out. The ground under the tall crop like maize wont dry that well anyways.

  • Never seen CORN being grown on such a watered soil, as a matter of fact, one of the advantages of this crop it's not being needy of as much irrigation as others......at least the one being grown in the USA. Maybe the Netherlands have another water intensive variety ? P.S: I'm not anywhere being a farmer, don't have a friggin clue as to grow anything, if I had plastic flowers in my place it would die too.

    • Not allowed on UK roads with double wheels. Would make more sense to buy a smaller lighter tractor & a slightly smaller tractor & that's it. Do more work rather than buy these machines that smaller ones used to do fine.

  • I honestly don´t understand why there are so many ignorant people in the comment section here??? First of all: Do you think those people in the video are deliberately destroying the soil and getting stuck in the field because they think it´s fun? If you are a farmer with some years of experience, you know that from time to time there are seasons that are - from a weather-related point of view - just terrible and very unusual. Either you have conditions like 2018 - where (in this area) it almost hasn´t rained since the month of May and all the crop is getting "burned" and dried away by the sun - and on the other side you have seasons like 2017 (the video), where it just continues to rain, and rain, and rain, and rain and rain. In 2017 it rained constantly in the spring, most of the summer and also into the fall. So what do you expect those people to do? To let the crop rot away in the field? Or at least try to save what can be saved, even if it means getting stuck a fuckload of times in the wet ground? Don´t write stupid comments if you don´t know the story behind the video.

    • Every farm is well equipped, EU gives you money for tractor but you are not allowed to grow what you want and sell it where you want. Eastern European farmers have tractors that costs more than their whole farm, but Germany and Brussels tells them what they can and cannot do with it. Its economical fascism, Germans are doing it again .....

    • you cant unhock a wagon like this. its a k80 Balljoint. If you unhock it in this state the support stand will sink in the ground until the drawbar touches the ground. And you can move the trailer without the tractor

    • propably drive over it with a cultivator 3-4 times until its a bit more smooth, then plow it and drive over it again a few times.

    • No choice. The entire 2017-season rained away here. It was a matter of letting the entire harvest go down the drain or at least try to save what could be saved. Why do you think they would else do this???
