Why is the contact with Apple ID email required?
I’m guessing because Apple ID email saves wifi passwords
Cool. Could you also make a QR code version of this? So the settings can be shared with anybody on any platform with any phone? Thanks!
One of the most underrated iOS features!
Yeah right it shoulve had qr code sharing like android now u can't share passwords to android
Yeah underrated because you have to do all this crap
Password Wi-Fi wi-Fi share share
Pls give option to generate qr code.
This is a great feature. However, the requirement for your friend’s Apple ID email address saved in your contact pretty much kills its practicality, IMO. Asking your friend for his/her Apple ID is just awkward.
yeah I had no idea about that, no wonder it doesn't work so often.
I absolutely agree. I was thinking how weird that would be especially if you have a lot people come over.
@@Rivs5117 best to make a guest if WiFi on your router.
Yeah, as now there is Name drop in 17, they could add something to share easily.
"Hey bro, what's your Apple ID email?" "Why?" "So you can connect to my wifi" "what"
This feature should be more simplify. 🙂
Very complicated 👎
Why is the contact Apple ID email is required?
I’ve used this feature often for years now but it seems to always be a hit or miss. Is it essential that both phones have Apple ID emails saved to the others contact? I feel like this requirement would really limit the usability of the feature
Thanks for posting your question about Wi-Fi password sharing setup. We’re happy to assist. To answer your question, yes, you would need to make sure both you and the other user have each other’s email addresses saved in Contacts. If you’re finding Wi-Fi password sharing is not consistently working for you, be sure to review the setup requirements in the “Before you begin” section: s.apple.com/dE0i6n8H5H Reach out to us here if you find it’s still not working consistently: apple.co/GetSupport
It should be cool to have the QR version to share the wifi like in Android
Seriously have to do this much for a wifi. I have both apple and redmi phones. In redmi just tap share, it shows qr code, scan the code and you are connected.
Honestly one of my favourite features in iOS. I use it all the time.
lmao who has their friend's apple id email saved on contacts
Lots of times I forget about this, and i go into my notes app, find the WiFi password, tell the person letter by letter, then it says “Share wifi password?” I’m like, seriously. I could have skipped all those steps. Thanks apple 😃
This is so helpful, I never knew about this!
I literally use this feature all the time to connect and MacBook and iPhone to the internet. One of the things I like about Apple
It literally sucks. On android you can go to your wifi settings it give you a qr code that anyone can scan to autmatically connect to your wifi. Its 5x faster to do and it doesnt have any restriction
It's so simple in Android
apple please, can you do this easier? like airdrop my password or something ?
We’re happy to help. You can send us your feedback about this feature here: apple.co/Feedback If you need more help contact our support team here: apple.co/GetSupport
LOL how can it be that nobody's talking about the Wi-Fi names? They're hilarious!
Why this feature on Android is SOOOO simple to use?
Omg, this so much more steps than Android... simplify it!
No one talking abt the wifi names?
The time you add someone’s contact and iCloud mail in your phone before WiFi share. One can connect WiFi directly 😃
Apple makes this so hard when on huawei you just click on wifi and scan the QR code
It takes long time than typing.
this is more hard than just giving the acutal password Why apple
it is not Practical to use this feature (saving the contact and apple ID)
Wow that looks so easy!
It is much simpler and better on Android, just by scanning the QR
I'd just tell him the password instead of going through all of this😂
A simple QR code scan would have sufficed
Is a good idea BUT just change it like in Android, is a QR code and everything is OK, simple like this.
hey Support, i’d like to suggest a QR code reading for wifi password, just like Android, it’ll be so much easier to share wifi password =)
This was very helpful!
I was gifted an IPad last year and I was overdue a new phone so I saved up and made the switch to Apple. This feature really got me 💗.
"Have your friends Apple ID" is misleading, i connected to my friends wifi the same as in the video and i only have his numbers which are linked to his apple id and it worked. As long as you and your friend can communicate on iMessage or Facetime then i think it should work out
Ok, so we don’t have to have the email on the contact info? Because that is such a stupid step and I’d rather just give people my WI-FI password at that point.
That was awesome! Thanks
WE LITERALLY TRIED EVERYTHING and nothing had worked but this video MANNNNEEEEE work we was getting stressed tf out over here and this video help us sooooo MUCHHHHH!!! Appreciate it smmm
not working for me either and I've gone through the steps. It has worked in the past automatically between the same two devices. How do we troubleshoot?
Hey there, we’d love to help. Do they still have the Wi-Fi network’s old settings saved since you last shared it? They may need to forget the network before you can share it to them again. We also recommend ensuring both devices are running the latest version of software available by following the steps here: s.apple.com/dE0z4U7G7g If you have any further questions, please reach out to us here: apple.co/GetSupport
Supimpa! This is how we express our awe in Brazil. 🤩
Man i know this feature since iOS 11 It’s so handy
why not have the wifi password in the settings saved?
Can u do this on older iphones
One of the best features apple has ever done and I’m not kidding
Remove the necessity to need the other persons email address and this will be far more useful
Why do I like videos like this
Does it work if they use android?
I love the names of all the different wifi networks
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️🥰
this feature can work even better - let's send confirmation email to another user, and after he will confirm he needs password we can share it after we get notification about successfull confirmation!😃
Best so far😍😍
can you do this with more than 1 device? like to connect more device with yours

goated feature
“U have to have both of your iCloud email addresses saved on both of your contacts” well i think its faster to just give the password and enter it on the settings lol Update: thanks for the likes lol! Merry Christmas!
Wow thanks so much I was stressed about not knowing how to do it but when I watched it it really helped cos I had my hotspot on
Finally I understand how this works...I never knew the conditions...
Thanks mate worked your amazing
This helped me. Thanks.
Thanks for the help
Everyone is telling this feature is good and handy. Like, you guys know qr is way easier, fast and reliable so are you guys making fun of iphone by telling its handy or what huh??😆😆
This is the best feature ever. So smart, so convenient!
lol no, android has a feature that lets you scan a qr code so that any phone can connect to the wifi, even iphone, and this is much less of a hassle rather than asking for your friend to have both their phone number and email in your phone lol
On Android I can share QR code, How can I do that on Iphone?
Those wifi names tho.. 😂
OMG THANK YOU YOU SAVED MY LIFE ILY
The first time this worked between my wife and my iPhones, it was jaw dropping. I was not even aware of this feature and this looked super-natural 😂.
Meanwhile android: where is the qr code!?
it would make much more sense if i can simply airdrop wifi password

Thank u soo much ❤️🔥
THANK YOU IT WORKED
Does it work from iPhone-> iPad or vice versa?
Hey there. That’s a great question and we’d love to help. Yes, you can share your Wi-Fi password from your iPhone to your iPad, and vice versa. For any other questions, contact us here: apple.co/GetSupport
If Apple provide wifi hotspot sharing that will be a great feature. I recently switched to iPhone and lack of this feature is very inconvenient for me, second the hotspot sharing is only limited to 3 devices which at least need to be minimum 5.
Thank you Cuz it worked❤
