I think her appeal comes from how multifaceted she is as a character. The music, and the message, in the final scene... So wholesome. Reminiscent of the Sims URBZ era from my childhood. Grew up under the jaded Gen-X'ers saying "Don't be a hero, kid"... Seems many are inclined not to listen to them... And I'm here for it.

Shinji Mikami (Who worked on RE1 and RE4) worked on this game and you can really feel all the cheesy fun RE4 moments put into this game which i'm glad as him and his team are keeping that tone alive and well, where other games (mainly RE remakes) have taken the serious tone.

There honestly aren’t enough releases this generation that have really made me think of buying a new system, but the style of Hi-Fi Rush might just be enough for me to consider picking up an Xbox series X

Kinda sad that not a lot of people are talking about Roger Craig Smith’s performance as Kale. Korsica def stole the show, but Kale gives me Prince Charming (Shrek) vibes and I ended up loving his character more that I imagined.
Kale is a great villain. He's entertaining without going so overboard that he stops feeling like an actual person.
Recognized him immediately. He's great. Amazing you can hear Roger himself, but not Sonic or Mirage in his performance here.

I think her appeal comes from how multifaceted she is as a character. She's strong and vulnerable, prideful and humble, serious and silly, pragmatic and idealistic, zealous and reasonable, loyal and rebellious, determined and doubtful, cool and hotheaded, cunning and reckless, tough and tender. She's a beautifully real and flawed hero in a sci-fi fantasy, just like Chai.
It also doesn't hurt that she's a tomboy with a Scottish accent.

God damn why is this game so awesome? The characters, sense of humor, references, overall story had no right being this good. Not to mention the gameplay, the graphics, the soundtrack...

This game could have had an absolutely mid, inconsequential story and the gameplay and artstyle would've carried it into a lot of people's top10 2023 lists anyway. Instead, it's funny, it's charming, the voice acting is 10/10, and the whole thing has a big, beating heart that makes you care. I love it to bits.
