NEW YORK CITY l Walking in the Historic heavy Rainfall in Times Square, Midtown Manhattan, New York.
Filmed on September 1st around 9pm, 2021.
Hurricane Ida was the worst natural disaster to strike New York and New Jersey since 2012's Superstorm Sandy. The intense downpour caused flooding throughout the city, as well as the first flash flood emergency ever to be issued in New York City.
This video contains intense noises of wind, rain or siren, so please be careful about the volume when watching it putting on headphones or earphones.

    • I agree. I live here in nyc, I watch rain videos all the time and this one is EXCELLENT. Partially bc I know that area well, but it's the audio with great hi end and the care taken to show the rain on the ground. All the light from the signs really shows off the waves of rain, a problem in a lot of other videos. And I remember this storm, I walked around it up in Inwood north Manhattan all night. It just wouldn't stop. We just got the snowy version of this night last Friday.

With your creative mind..you are capturing the beauty of New York as well as 'Mother Nature'. The two are an awesome combination. You are a master film maker. Why did I say that? Your videos that you are making of New York are actually doing the talking for you by the rain that's falling down, the noise of the city buses, cars, and taxis driving by. The sounds of the fire trucks..or the red flashing lights of the ambulances. The water splashing in the streets..people walking along..not even realizing that they are being filmed. The sound of the subways below the streets. What makes your videos so awesome and amazing is that you don't even utter one word. Without a doubt..I'll be watching your other amazing videos. I may not comment on everyone..but will share and hit the like button on all of them. Just know that I will feel the same way about all of the videos that you make. The excellent camera that you're using, your attention to detail, and the many and different angles that you are capturing is just fascinating. Your film making is also romantic if my Lady and I are cuddled up on a couch watching this particular one of the rain drenching the streets of New York.     • @@itsmetoot I dont think you've ever gotten this type of rain before to be fair. This was historic. 3.15 inches in an hour. A record rain rate for NYC. California simply doesn't get rains from tropical systems which is just a different beast altogether on the east coast

    • @@WrasslinKing We get atmospheric rivers that can cause very heavy rainfall, especially near the mountains. For example, 26 inches of rain fell in a single day at Hoegee's Camp (very close to Los Angeles), which is the 4th highest 24-hour rainfall period in the country.
