Table Saw Jointer jig.
Step 1: Building the Table Saw Sled First things first, we'll construct a simple yet sturdy table saw sled. The sled acts as a platform that allows us to guide the wood accurately through the saw. We'll provide you with a step-by-step guide on assembling the sled, using commonly available materials.
Step 2: Board Attachment Next, we'll attach the board to the sled securely. We recommend positioning the board in a way that it slightly overhangs the edge of the sled. This setup ensures that the saw blade will cut precisely along the edge, resulting in a straight and even cut.
Step 3: Running the Sled Through the Saw Once the board is securely fixed to the sled, it's time to put our method to the test! We'll demonstrate how to carefully run the sled through the table saw, making sure to maintain a steady and controlled movement. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can achieve a perfectly straight edge on your board using this technique!
Milling large boards with Track Saw Jig
Ready to step up your woodworking game without the hassle of a track saw? In this detailed tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of building a simple and effective jig for cutting boards using 19mm exterior plywood. Say goodbye to the frustration of creating straight edges and dealing with excessive clamping!
The base of the jig measures 120cm by 40cm, providing a sturdy foundation for your projects. The 120cm by 15cm fence, securely screwed to the top, ensures precise and straight cuts every time. With the blade snug against the outer edge of the base plate and the circular saw base against the fence, you'll achieve professional results without the need for expensive equipment.
The best part? This jig can be assembled in just 30 minutes, saving you time and effort in your woodworking endeavors. We'll guide you step-by-step through the construction process, sharing valuable tips and tricks along the way.
The video doesn't stop at the build - we'll also demonstrate how to use the jig effectively, emphasizing key learnings for optimal results. Discover why the placement of support pieces is crucial, especially the two innermost supports, and what can happen if they're not positioned close to the cut line.
Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned woodworker, this DIY jig will become an essential tool in your workshop, providing accuracy and efficiency in your board cutting projects. • If you are screwing onto another board, there is no need for the runner, you can just run the straight board along the fence
