There's something about having the themes of motherhood, impregnation and forceful pregnancy of something so terrifying and foreigner to the own mother's body, packed in a horror sci Fi movie is just genius and all the more disturbing. I always found interesting the underlaying sexual themes of the alien franchise, makes it seem that other life forms are just as brutal and sexual as we are.

It sure is effective.Even if your a guy ya clech your teeth and stare wide eyed! Ridley still knows how to make us cringe with his horror\sci-fi style of movies. He never really created the GONDRA but sure perfected it beginning with ALIEN.This movie and CONVENT were great and gave the fans everything and more than expected yet some still complain it's not as good as ALIEN or ALIENS.They just want to see remakes of the same movies they remember. If so,there are plenty good fan made films on KZhead for them but as for one of the most iconic Directors of our time, who started the whole thing, has amazingly expanded and created two amazing prequels that get better every year I watch them

The sounds and visuals are obviously amazing. The pain she is going through. The surgury. The pacing. the tensity. The feeling of urgency. The beeping of the med pod. But its the machine thats what makes the scene amazing. The movie builds up the marvel of this med pod. Its an absolute technical powerhouse. Some team of geniuses with insane funding created this thing. Its a marvel of science and technological engineering. We dont know the full extent of its capabilities, we just know only 12 of them were created and that it is insanely technologically complex. It has custom capabilities that basically allow you to do whatever you want with it. And she decided to go in and get the alien baby cut out with the custom tailored surgury. Its soooo damn cool. And its sooo disgusting. And its sooo tense. The pacing. Its just thrilling. The sound of the machine beeping, the sense of urgency, the way it seems like its going to burst out of her belly at any moment, such an amazing scene. Oh and yea, the med pod is cool as fuck.

The back sleeping and side sleeping is true, it is all about veins and stuff. Basically as your baby gets bigger and gains more weight the pressure and weight of it can pinch one of the veins that runs through your back and cause pain as well as lessen the amount of nutrients that are being brought to the baby if you are lying on your back. Sleeping on your side, especially the left side, helps open the veins that bring nutrients to your baby, which is why sleeping on your left side is encouraged.

Next to Ripley, original Alien's movies, Dr. Shaw is a tough woman. She could not do regular anesthesia maybe a local but still to have a laser cut your stomach, extract a fetus and staple the incision. She is a very strong character. I busted my knee years ago and was sweating like a runaway slave when they took x-rays. It was so swollen that I didn't have much pain until the x-ray techs started moving me around. After surgery I had 22 staples and when they came to remove them that was painful.
I had a cancerous tumor removed that had eaten one third of my right collar bone. It had broken off. During surgery I woke up in the middle of it while they were hack away at my collar bone.
