How to make a WW2 German helmet (M35 M40 M42)

2020 ж. 21 Сәу.
135 862 Рет қаралды

In this video i make a WW2 German helmet and i show you how to make it for yourself. For this project you will need cardboard, glue, newspaper, fabric, paint, and string.
When i did this project i put the hot glue marks of the outside making the surface a little bumpy also the size of the liner pads were too small.
WARNING this helmet will not protect you and is for display purposes only.

  • This is underrated, I collect original German helmets and this resembles an actual m35/ m40 all day, keep it up.

    • Want to hear something funny? Argentina made this time of helmet due the lack of equipment to stamp the steel. You can find them as (Casco aleman de cartón prensado, casco Velcro) they were used only for marches and paredes military events. After that during the Falkland war, the made them from aluminum, I got one of those aluminum ones.

    • I used a hot glue gun and for the fabric i used non stretch cotton. I would also say try to keep the glue marks on the inside as in the video you can see after paper mache you could still see the outlines from the hot glue.

  • What do you guys do to achieve a smooth finish? When I first tried to make one I used the paper mache, plaster coat but it still left it looking rough unlike a real one so I just gave it the sand + spray paint treatment like the US soldiers would their M1 helmets lol. I want mine to look smooth so I might use some bondo + filler spray paint by rustoleoum in the future.
