200 Players Build A MASSIVE Civilization in Minecraft

In this video, I put 200 Minecraft players onto 4 islands, each its own civilization. Each player only had one life. Will there be democracy? Will dictators rise? Which nation will be triumphant? Find out now!
JOIN THE STATE DISCORD SERVER:
/ discord
More info:
I let players self-select into four different teams. Each of the four islands was its own biome-plains, desert, snow, jungle. The server was only up for one hour each day, typically from 7pm EST to 8pm EST. Players could use that hour to play on the server and do whatever they wanted: build, farm, mine, trade, go to war, etc. All of the nation building and interaction between nations was run entirely by the players-I just watched and occasionally encouraged players to take action to make the story more interesting. When players died, they were permanently kicked from the Minecraft server and could not rejoin.
Some of the visuals and audio in this video were recorded after the server ended and are not from the actual event. Additionally, some of the plot information in this video is inaccurate/incomplete for purposes of simplification and storytelling.

Rule 2: Without the Russian weather, one of the greatest natural military defence, (like RLcraft hypothermia effect & siberian force winter coat) it's just a snowy biome. Apart from housing the jungle nation after the civil war and a few deeds here and there, yeah he didn't do much else. • The real villain of this story was kumazaki here's why. Although solev was a dictator he wasn't evil, instead he genuinely cared for his people and all the executions he ordered were to ensure the safety of the snow island. Kumazaki on the other hand saw him as a tirent and made most of the world gang up on him and his people. So when he was executed the other factions believed his lies and went to war with solev and his people. In the end kumazaki got what he wanted but at the price of the lives of many good willed people and those who believed his lies. Also a few of the other villains here were: it'smagicmikey, guardian nova and ewaj. Edit Also itsmagicmikey has to have one of the worst strategic minds ever and did probably the worst thing he could have done. A smart approach would have been to either dig a tunnel underneath the volcano and come up in the middle of the city and catch them off guard, or they could have built a tower that was taller than the volcano and drop lava on them forcing 9209's people to evacuate and give up their defensive position.

    • Out of all the participants his personal storyline is the most pleasing with a complete drama arc, plus a rather well crafted ending by some chance. If this was a movie setting or a book, then his story is the only one which could feasibly pass the cut without needing any major reworking. I mean, Solev's fall and eventual demise are the second best personal storyline, but even that is too one-dimensional for a major character.

  • "Wooden Fence" is honestly such a badass name for a stone fortress. I know the jungle didn't win, but their city and their culture was the best by far. The defense of "Wooden Fence" looked like a valiant effort, but props to the United Sands for figuring out the way around it. Also, I love HopesBounty's flower shop success and Legacy's peaceful fishing parrot life lmao

  • After watching the 1000 player civilization video, it struck me how similar each island started out. The snow island quickly formed into a dictatorship based around complete orderliness to ensure survival. The plains had multiple calmer civilizations. The jungle was more chaotic, but it worked out ok. The desert quickly formed into two factions, one tyrannical and the other oligarchical. Lots of parallels to the 1000 player sim right there. Interesting, it seems like the environment strongly impacts the system of government even in Minecraft, so much so that across two separate experiments the new civilizations had remarkable similarities. Cool.

  • if I am being honest, I think solev was the real hero in this story, 1. he helped save smilechump and his entire village and they gave their lives as payment to solev for saving them 2. he fought to his end until accidently falling to his death 3. he saved his people from being ganged up on by the whole world until they really were ganged up on by most of the world
