  • As a former iPhone user the Pixel 8 Pro is now my second Pixel phone. Both Android and iOS have their plusses and minuses, but I am definitely Team Pixel now. Thank you for your honest review

  • I'm glad that you like your pixel, but I got to say as a pixel user everything about messaging. You're not going to be affected by the iPhone people will because that's how Apple wants to play it. You can still send messages. You can voice type a heck of a lot better and more accurately on a pixel. Also, if you speak somebody's name, let's say if you have 2 Clarks in your contact but one is spelled with the k. It will know the difference when your voice texting to each of them. Also, you can react to messages with any emoji that you want to unlike on the iPhone and you can schedule messages. So if you need to text say for example your mom tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. you can schedule that text message to go out at 2:00 p.m. Tomorrow or anytime that you want. Curious to see what your long-term review will be once you've used it longer and more of the assistant features such as call screen, searching with your voice, and smart notifications in calendar

    • OMG! I used those features on my LG G5, so I was happy to see that it was on my Pixel. You don't have to disturb people if it's late or you don't want to forget something. I love the voice texting as well, it really comes in handy when you can't physically type. And I must say that the Pixel has the best auto correct feature that I've ever experienced on a phone.

      @ObilityX@ObilityX7 ай бұрын
    • Also… Green vs Blue Bubble was never initially about Android vs iMessage. People just made it that false narrative. Blue equals, “End to End Encrypted Message” and Green equals, “Not End to End Encrypted Message”. Which is the reason someone on an iPhone, texting another iPhone can disable iMessage on one of those devices and the bubbles then turn Green.

    • @@GyasiLinje lol if I'm being honest, you do get the iMessage experience. The only difference is you don't have it from your phone to an iPhone because Apple doesn't allow it, but literally all other functions of iMessage, read receipts, typing indicator and even reactions you have and I would argue that reactions are better on pixels because you can react with any emoji that you want

  • Great video! I’ve been an iPhone user since the iPhone 4. I preordered the iPhone 15 Pro Max this year and I had to face it this time: Apple has run out of ideas and the mute button now being an action button was just not enough any more. Used it for 3 weeks and I saw absolutely no difference after my 12 Pro Max. I’ve been craving for something new and innovative for a while so I sold my iPhone 15 Pro Max and ordered the Google Pixel 8 Pro. Never used android before. Excited to receive it tomorrow!

    • I find it so funny when iPhone users get "bored" of iPhone so then they proceed to downgrade to an inferior phone out of boredom of having the most advanced smartphone in the world lmao. Yeah Apple updates in iterations because it is already the most advanced smartphone in the world. So the display for example, they made almost no improvement to it this year because no other smartphone had caught up. The pixel is the first to come close to the same brightness levels as LAST YEAR's iPhone 14 Pro.

  • I switched from the iPhone XS to the Pixel 4 and I never looked back. So much so that I got invited to the Pixel Superfan community for how I dove in and shared my experience enjoying the Pixel experience. Now I have the Pixel 8 Pro too. The biggest challenges after switching? Peer-pressure. My friends and family wanted me to switch back *ONLY* because of iMessage. Besides that, I found that Android, especially on Pixel, actually fits my lifestyle in a more useful way.

  • I started out an android user. The first one was the G1 (Dream) by HTC. It released just a little over a year after the 1st iphone. I always liked doing something different from what everyone else does. Plus, iphone was an AT&T exclusive back then and they had crazy stipulations (credit etc) to get their service. T-mobile introduced the first android exclusively with their network. It wasn't until the iphone 7 that I ventured into the world of iOS and remained until the iPhone 13 pro max which I just upgraded to go back to android with the pixel 8 pro. Just kept feeling this yearning to come back home, and while everyone else I know has iOS, I got tired of that being the only reason I didn't have what I prefer.

It only happened maybe a once or twice a month so not too bad/often. I had no issues with the swiping personally. As far as Android, I love it. One thing I like is if you want a totally different feel the next time you upgrade, you just get a different manufacturer than last time (Samsung, Sony, Motorola, One Plus etc) and have a different experience, different design language etc, while still having the foundational android experience. iPhones are awesome for what they are, but for me there's just never any excitement to a new device when you finally upgrade after the first few hours to 24 hours when you realize you just literally have the exact same device with slightly altered outside casing.

What did it was the lovely sale that Best Buy had, which was $250.00 off of $899.99, and it was unlocked. The pickings are very slim now with phones, so it was between the iPhone & the Pixel. I never had interest the iPhone and Samsung phones, and I refuse to pay $1000.00 for any phone, and when I saw the Pixel 7 Pro I knew it would be my next phone because it really looks good. I'm loving my pixel and am looking forward to learning more about it. With nice and helpful updates, I can see me replacing it with another one in 5 or 6 years. • Welcome to the pixel family! One thing I will say about social media is that whether you are in messages or any social media or anything where the keyboard is, you can voice type in the voice. Typing is super smooth and then you can also call out what type of emoji you want instead of going into the emoji keyboard and typing it. So if you wanted to use crying laughing emoji and you say that it will show 😂 I had to separate the words so it wouldn't do that lol it. Also, the social media experience is pretty smooth. I will say the 3 apps that actually take advantage of the pixel camera is Snapchat, Instagram and ex? Although I will say for snapchat for it to actually take advantage of that capability. Just make sure you click a little moon button that will enable the low light mode and use the pixels capabilities which is handy at night. But you can also use it during the daytime if you want to. Not to mention for social media. If you do have snapchat and you activate the QuickTap feature that is in our settings, you can open up Snapchat while your phone is still locked

I hated using third party apps like WhatsApp to send photos, videos to my friends. Social media app wise, I primarily use instagram and found the quality of videos taken on IG were not on par with iPhone (this is a developer issue though not Google’s). All of my accessories are all Apple (iPad, AirPod Max, AirPod Pro’s) so the loss of some features like continuity, auto-pausing audio when you remove the headphones, were minor impacts for quality of life but are nice features to have on the day-to-day. Keyboard typing on the P8 Pro was great. No complains there, and I really loved the personalization of the phone. It’s definitely the one thing I miss back on iPhone.

  • i think apple and android have alot more in common that what people really think. as an avid apple user for years, i switched to the flip 5 about 2 months ago and it was a much easier transition that it has been in the past, especially with the cost of the phone being nearly 45% less than a new pro model. the eco systems work well and the fact i run an m1 macbook pro as my personal computer, it still intergrates well. i just wish down the track they could get the apple watch to work with android and i'd be happy.

  • Watched some of your videos. Doesn't it feel like there's so many things we could do, where we are torn in so many directions. I wonder if this tech is just making us more hungry for more, but the time we have for this life, just isn't enough for all of it.

  • I really like pixel phones as a iPhone user. The problem I have for not switching is Apple Pay, tags and Apple Watch. I know Google is hot on Apples heels for ecosystem, but they for me just simply are not there yet. Pixel watch 2 was a solid upgrade, but the whole Fitbit thing is a bit messy for me personally. Gpay isn’t bad, but it’s just simply not as good as Apple Pay. And things like precision finding compared to things like Tile, chipolo ect is lacking. As for RCS…. I mean it’s not really a problem as everyone I personally know uses WhatsApp anyway. I don’t use iMessage that much. I think if Google made some decent tags, and a 44/45mm version of the pixel watch, I really would consider it legitimately. Apple does many things well, but let’s face it. It really sucks in other ways. Not like you can watch content full screen without a big distraction at the edge. At least on pixel it’s just camera and not nearly as intrusive.

  • Messaging on an Android now is very similar to an iPhone. If it's Android to Android you'll get all the advanced features like you would with iPhone to iPhone with iMessage. So this iMessage thing is very played out with people thinking iPhones only experience "green bubbles" but Android messaging is downgraded texting an iPhone user

    @netxgen509@netxgen5097 ай бұрын
    • That's very true and that's honestly Apple's biggest thing is iMessage like I would put money on the fact that if I message was removed and Apple uses were able to have RCS 40% generous and 60% being over ambitious of iPhone users which switch to a pixel because that's the one thing locking iPhone users in and they know that

  • To be honest I have been team pixel for a while. I went from apple to Samsung years ago after the iPhone 5. But then I tried the pixel 3 and wow. I feel like Samsung gives too many options but pixel is just the right merge between Samsung and Apple. If you test out a samsung. What are your thoughts?

    • I use the OnePlus 11, and I've been with OnePlus since the 3T. I must admit that I love open-ended use and loads of options, and Oneplus offers that without bloat ware. But for those who want a clean and easy experience while still having the option to customize, the Pixel is a solid bet!
