I owned a 328i Coupe and I own 2 350Z the Z4 is definitely going to be my new project but I plan to swap the engine with a M4 and a single turbo, but for the meanwhile Joel I would believe I would enjoy the car where they stock 3.0 for a while thanks for showing me the performance on the car💪✊💯🔥
I got 147mph on the autobahn in my 2004 Z4. measured on the Torque app, through a ODB11 scanner, 146mph recorded on on GPS, 151 on the clock which I'm ignoring. I'm on151,200 miles and to be fair the engine feels like its on 20,000 miles. These cars are brilliant. I could have gone a bit faster but was cacking myself in case someone pulled out from the middle lane. When I was almost flat out I was overtaken by a Nissan GT-R who looked liked he was just cruising.
Well done again Joel.. to do those speeds in that car takes some very steady nerves.. sounded great through the gear changes too.. I'm so glad I bought my 2004 3.0i it sounds awesome.. all thanks to watching you made me purchase 👍 Keep em coming..

I had 160 out of my z4m yesterday on a country road , hit a slight corner at 140 which it took beautifully , these cars handle high speed so well and i had the roof down
German engineering for you, 17 year old car and does top speed without any issues. Great video
Great video. Just about a perfect day for it. Glad you survived Nordschlife. I’ve done it before in my old 328i . The camber changes and compression can’t be understood unless you’ve done it. Scary stuff 👍 Keep safe 👍💪

seriously contemplating getting a Z4. Z4 or Audi TT that's the question.... Nice upload mate. 150,000 and still going strong, nice one.
What's interesting to me is that even on the de-restricted autobahn you can't utilise all of the '230' bhp for a lot of the time due to traffic or bends, yet newer cars get more and more powerful with the average super saloon now producing in excess of 600 bhp. Makes you ask the question what can you do with all this power on public roads
You have to look for a new Autobahn in the easter part of the country. Nice smooth pavement. Early Sunday morning. No trucks. Some years ago I did 250plus with the facelift z4 automatic. Good performance considering it’s age and price. Been watching your videos for a couple months now and just picked up an 08 3.0
The 3.0 really pulls! Makes me want one. Crazy how fast it accelerated when it was going 120+mph. Managed to get my 2.2 up to 145mph mid lockdown and it struggled to get there even on a slightly downhill carriageway. Took almost 3 miles to reach the top speed.
I hit the end of my speedometer during lockdown on some B roads granted only 130 mph but still
@@deathcrashtest64 Your B roads must be nice, smooth and straight if you managed to hit 130. Here they're like rally stages. Either that or you have massive balls.

I did the same when i bought mine earlier this year in Germany on my way back to France. Stopped at 240km/h (237 on my phone GPS)! And a C63s passing by like a rocket 😂 Great video for Z4 lovers, as usual!

I like the way the germans have good barriers on the autobahns, when a tyre goes out at 150 the barriers will keep the car in the same road, well unless it flips over the central reservation or into some trees. Great video, stay safe out there mate

Burst tire can happen at anytime at speeds as low as 40mph. Having reputable and good quality tires will make it less likely. Just dont touch the brakes lol
Love your video i bought a 2004 BMW Z4 which has built in Navigation system which is quite old and only CD player.Can you advise how o upgrade it and what can be done so that i have USP port and some other new future.

Just when it getting light in the morning is usually best for a top speed run.Anything over 120/130 takes a real effort.

Impressive. On my 2.5i Z4 I'm got 22km/h but could have more just ran out of road. With your 3.0i, 250km/h is good with 156K miles on it.

My top gps speed in my Z4 coupe is 157mph but I’ve gone way off the end of the speedo on another occasion without the gps running. Was probably around 165mph and still had more to give. Was on the way to Ulm from Stuttgart

I’m currently looking at getting a z4 for myself. I also live in the uk and drive around 420 miles a week, and want a car with more power, and something that looks pretty cool in comparisons to what I’m currently driving, and for as low as £2k I’m pretty much sold😂
I officially declare you Autobahn proof. I have an open stretch just 5 minutes from where I live. The best.

I had this car and recently sold it for the 2nd gen 28i with the auto box and it is rapid. You should get one. We have the 70mph limit in the UK because auto makers used to test the top speed of cars down the M1 so the gov introduced the limit to stop them. I think that was in the 60s or 70s so our speed limits are based on car tech from 30 - 40 years ago. Silly really🙄
Very very interesting. My Z4 is itching to do this. I'm in Northern Wisconsin with some beautiful highway. However its 70 mph maximum.

There's a track day at Road America on October 5th Blane, you won't get to 155, but I've seen 135 going into turn 1

The quickest was 167 on a bike.. again private driveway y’onour😇 Edit: I’m constantly reminded I should have got the 650i V8 (I have an E63 630i sport) but, your N52/53 sounds so good.. properly singing👌🏼

With mine when i reach 200+km/h i know the car could give more but with all the wind noise and shit i feel like i'm about to take off ... and it kinda feels wrong ... rly wish there was something to do about the wind noise ... but i can't seem to find a way to make it perfectly closed up ... been playing with windows adjustment and all but ... nop.

It's a 3.0 so it comes with 231hp from factory, but it's at least 11 years old so it's probably a little less than that
No idea what it makes exactly as I haven’t had it on a Dyno, but I guess it’s still got a few!

How noisy is it with the convertible roof? If I push my Barchetta to its max speed (200km/h) it gets so noisy that you wouldn't be able to record a video like this. It starts whining at 80km/h already

I have a 2008 z4 and always wanted to try the top speed of it but we dont have a autobahn where i live and also at arround 220 kph i felt the car a lil bit unstable so i backed off.
You need a good set of tyres before you attempt such speed if not you may not be available to tell your experience!

You could easily have been that pilot you dreamed of.. Kamikaze that is. Mental and such trust in your high mileage, 16 year old beamer. There did not appear to be any wheel wobble whatsoever. Steady as a rock.

Any one here that fells the front loose after reaching 160Kms per hour? Very light front and it feels that is not going straight, always correcting the steering, and it’s not at good feeling at all! I see you there relaxed, I can’t do a turn even on a higway past 180Kms. Car checked at BMW dealer, no problems at all. What the hell could it be?

Hey thanks for making this video, I really enjoyed several them today before I got to this one just now. I just agreed to purchase my neighbors 2005 z4 2.5i with 110,000 for 3.7k just tonight, let me know what you think. I live in Arizona and the car has had 2 owners. My neighbor has 4 kids going into Christmas 2020 here and needs it gone so I obliged to help him. Needs some window motor work and roof motor work but other than that and some minor cosmetics it is a nice ride. Do you think that is too much or fair considering? Anyway, you inspired me, check out my cheesy game movies on my channel if ur into it. Thanks again and for the record you drive pretty good and Im jealous I cant wait to visit the autobahn.
