A compilation of most rare, unorthodox and unique throws I could find captured on camera. Skill, athleticism, creativity you'll find everything in this video, so I hope you will like it and leave a thumbs up. Enjoy some brilliant Judo and have a nice day!

I like that in some clips even the guys getting thrown are like "what?" really cool
in some of them, I think even the guys throwing think that...
@@richardgodivala4680 "Holy shit that worked"
Like what?
Judo is the real deal. When I was 7 I was being bullied. I took two courses and threw the bully over my shoulder flat on his back breathless. The art of surprise IS Judo. Using your own opponents wait to send him to the group hard.
@rileykim7890get canker sores
And then u wake up at home dreaming
@@lolpatrol3434falling out of breath on the back was certainly unpleasant.
A great story.!
I guess spelling course wasn’t one of them
Judo is such a beautiful sport! All of these techniques are just brilliant! I love seeing judo performed by people who truly know all the ins and outs.
When you see the throw at 1:18 in slo-mo you can see the look of confusion on the guy's face 😂 "I threw him, why am I on the bottom?"
I wouldn't even know how to describe this other than he did a cartwheel.
Brilliant!
0:52 the funniest throw ever
Yup 0_0
Hey, it worked.
A lot of them were funny
"So long, gay Bowser"
@@shiggidydig Haha! Good reference!
Bring back leg grabs! So much variation. I loved the uchimata leg grab haha that was SWEET! EDIT: oh and the counter at 5:45 is exceptional
Single and double leg takedowns should be added. Scoring needs to take back at least the yuko and no more penalties. After 5 minutes if its 0-0 the judges should award the fight to the most dangerous/active fighter.
At least allow for gripping below the belt with one arm. You would get back great techniques like kata guruma and sukui nage, without single and double legs (morote gari), if that is what they have an issue with.
@@red8884 I hate the idea of judges selecting a winner. I wonder if going to an overtime that uses paralympic rules would work, with competitors starting with a grip on each others gi?
Damn i haven't done judo for over 25 years i didn't know leg grabs had been removed now. Some of my favourite moves involved leg grabs and my best defense move to date was when i managed to cartwheel out of someone trying to throw me with a leg grab similar to 1:18 except i only avoided being thrown, this guy done incredible to spin it round so that he got the throw, amazing
@@dglesterhardunkichud7860 like in EBI and other grappling orgs. Start in a position like back mount or armbar. Escape or sub
The combined knowledge of leverage and center of gravity, combined with the flexibility, strength and speed of an experienced Judo practitioner, plus the knowledge that your opponent is nothing more than an 80kg weight that you can toss around however you want if you can get their feet off the ground, makes for some devastatingly amazing artistic dances. Great compilation! Please, keep 'em coming.❤❤❤
The helicopter spin to a top finish was awesome and the Asian mid toss got the opponent to reverse the flip all looking like a 69 cartwheel
also their balance is incredible
Are all those unconventional unorthodox throws allowed in judo?
But it sucks when you realize the guys and gals scoring the points in these matches find themselves with their back taken in a regular fight half the time. Oh judo.
Un grand maître vous explique tout mais c'est beaucoup plus simple, c'est du Judo !!!
As Judo was my first martial art (nearly 52 years ago) I always have a fondness for it, and some of those throws were pure artistry. Mind you at least a couple were pure 'I WILL WIN' guts and determination :)
Agreed. I learned Judo in England in the 70s where it was taught as a SPORT. When my parents moved to the U.S., I found that it is taught more as a combat technique - in keeping with the "American Spirit!" lol
Judo was also my first martial art, started studying in 1971 at age 11. Still love it and am amazed by some of these throws that show mastery of control. I was in the USJA.
Was initially going to choose karate for my youngest but I'm thinking to start with Judo first. When they develop and become stronger, move them on to karate or mma
@@junglevixen5705 Great choice. Wish I'd done Judo as a child.
I'm intrigued!
Hey Chadi!
Hello, this is Chadi...
@@qrcode4718 hello chadi . I love your fantastic videos. Cheers from America!
Judo is basically all one thing. Grab the gi, or "judogi" and twist hahaha
Hello, this is chadi! 😀
judo is more complex than I thought so many variations and combinations
4:08 is hilarious. Instead of just take his back and choke him, pick him up, turn him over, and drop him.
The look on the face of the ref made my day :-)
Wow, some of them had me "WTF!?" Excellent video, as always!
Thank you, Max!
No, this is Judo, not the World Taekwondo Federation. Smh...
Many of these could be described as existing in that wonderful space between immense skill and a little fortune.
7:20 Trademark furiko tomoe nage ("pendulum" tomoe nage) by Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki. That is when he won his World title in 1981. The follow-up on the ground was also a ne waza masterclass.
I trained with Kashiwzaki when he came to UK for 6 months to coach our National team. Threw everybody even though had been retired from comps for years.
The skill, control, and athleticism shown in these matches is amazing. What an awesome sport. To think any normal street thug messing with any of these dudes is simply a game over scenario. Thanks for sharing.
I could watch this shit all day. I love throws! Loved them when I was an amateur wrestler. I had an “unorthodox” throw that I made up. No one knew it, so I had high percentage success with it.
Да, ваш успех и сейчас многим не даёт покоя... А кто вы?
@@user-sw4hh2st4x sorry man. I don’t understand your language…..
Make a vid of it then that would be sick and show how to do it
I can't give this enough thumbs up. Awesome video! Also, the music really conveys an energy that fits the intensity of the competition. Well done.
Whoever put this video together did a amazing job. Anyone who hates on Judo needs to watch this
Thank you for watching!
Judo is amazing man. High level Judokas are like magicians
Sad that judo is far less popular than jiu jitsu when it's better in almost every way.
@@feelsman7837 nah, its really only like that in the USA, even in brazil Judo is more popular
@@ysakoko you're right, I meant it more along the lines of bjj being a lot more commercial nowadays
@@feelsman7837 on one side that makes me sad because judo remains obscure for people who mainly consumed social media... on the other side, the bad apples then go to other sports... lol
@@vittocrazi good point
Absolutely brilliant, couldn’t believe what I was seeing favorite at 1:25
if judo and capoeira had a son
I remember seeing the throw at 7:00 in an old book about Cornish wrestling. It claimed it was a unique throw in that style. Cool to see it actually popping up in judo in a match. Goes to show that these techniques are universal.
Judo after all is wrestling in pyjamas.
@@vonjuez654 Very droll, Cornish is a form of jacket wrestling too, which is why I made the comparison and I think Uzbekistan has its own forms of belt/jacket wrestling. It interests me that around the world there are different style that start off with similar sets of parameters and you see the same techniques develop. In the UK (where I'm from) there are a whole range of traditional wrestling styles that are fairly esoteric in their rule sets but are nevertheless similar to styles from Asia and Europe. I don't really have much of a point I just enjoy seeing it.
@@michaelcromwell3814 Georgian(country, not the US state) folk wrestling is really awesome too, I also enjoy Bokh (mongolian)
It is considered a variation of uki-otoshi in judo.
Thanks, will have a look at it. We have a decent sized Mongolian community in Manchester and there have quite a few senior and juniors at the judo club I'm a member of. One lad who is a second Dan will occasionally come up to me and get into the belt wrestling grip and challenge me. It's fun though I mostly lose.
This was incredibly sick video my friend. Love your music selections on this and the Costa video. Judo getting some love!
Judo is pure art 🙌
Love when he picks the opponent up and swing him around!
An amazing compilation and the music makes it all the better 💪🏾
4:56 was God tier!!!
One of the most exiting judo videos!
Glad you liked it!
Whenever I watch judo comps I just see a bunch of grip fighting. I love seeing stuff like this.
I love watching Judo at this level. No matter your skill or understanding you will always be surprised. I've been asked if I thought Judo actually worked. I always respond "Do you watch the Olympics? Imagine you aren't an Olympic level Judo player, imagine he is..."
This compilation is amazing.
Power, speed. balance, weight center, pivot point, rhythm and harmony. A True art of all martial arts. Judo.
It's the clever trips and counter trips that are really impressive to me. Sweeping the support leg makes for a spectacular move, so simple and precise with not much force, beautiful.
This is an incredible compilation of devastating techniques that showcase the extraordinary level of skill of the world's top Judokas.
2:40 Insane throw. How did he pull that one out!
the most impressive one, clearly a masterpiece
Arm and back grab the blue was trying to get up. Really good timing and technique by white to help his mate.
It does look like a version of one ground technique
1:24 It is interesting seeing Choi Min ho get beat going for the throw he won olympic gold with Also Lee Won hee's bit dang mae chigi never gets old
Who is winner?
Although most of them was insight of how f..king strong these guys are, I loved the sneaky ashi waza adaptations. 4:56 is my favorite. Thank You for the great content!
Thank you for watching!
The more I watch combat sports, the more I respect the raw athleticism , technique and knowledge required to actually compete. Insane.

Thank you so much for this amazing video!
Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU FOR POSTING!
I practiced Judo in my youth up to becoming a brown belt and yes , the title of the video is fitting “up to the hilt” , because practically all of the throws were rare and unorthodox. I see titles in martial arts videos sometimes that understate or overstate the content of them ; not in this case
I'm not even halfway through and this is FREAKIN AMAZING!!!
Some great tips for self-defense. Thanks for making this video!
So much fun to watch! Exciting!
Great video. I don't know the sport but still found this fascinating. Excellent compilation!
The excellent foot work and use of leverage is impressive in these clips.
Awesome highlights mate! I wonder if some overtakeings were still in action or actually getting up after being grounded. Nevertheless great stuff. Question: can you make a hl about olympic final ippons from 1992 until now?
Thank you, yeah that's an idea I had for a long time, so hopefully at some point in future I'll be able to make it.
This video was fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Really good editing. Thank-you.
Thanks!
Awesome highlights thanks for the upload.
Thanks for watching!
2018 was an amazing year for judo ;)
Similar to 4:16 sometimes in practice just from a regular standard standing grip i would gator roll towards my sleve grip and opponent would fly
Appreciate the heavy music used as a Metalhead, badass video recently got interested in martial arts Judo especially 🙏💯🖤
That helicopter throw at 52 seconds 😳
That was loads of fun to watch, great throws!
Cracking music to to with that compilation too 🤙 Oss!
Some are the classic and beautiful ippon ❤️❤️😍😍 but others are even hard to understand how that happened and how that was possible 🤯🤯
It's just so satisfying to watch.
Grappling exchange #2 has to be one of my favorites in this whole vid
All brilliance in motion
Wow! Judo is beautiful.
Damn Judo has changed. I was very much into Judo 40 years ago. Back then it was about redirecting your opponents strength. This is starting to look a lot like wrestling. These men are so powerful and they use it.
You're correct but this is at a championship level and the bar has been raised so many times...
A lot of these throws came from the opponent overstepping / losing their position or balance, allowing the attacker to achieve the position where the throw was possible. That said, I think Judo has always had a bit more of the 'brute-strength' element than e.g. Aikido or Jujitsu (the other two 'redirect your opponents strength' style arts I'm semi-familiar with). Mind you, I admit my knowledge / experience with Judo is only ~25-30 years, and the early years are a bit hazy due to youth... so it may have been different way back when :D)
These are Olympic and world class competitors, so athleticism is definitely required. Casual club judo is still fun and a great martial art to get kids involved.
@@truetranny They probably shouldn't have let you drive a car or go outside in inclement weather. Too many risks. Did you dislike going to classes and maybe didn't take the breakfalls seriously, or was there poor instruction?
@@truetranny Oh, FFS. A holy roller. Satan: myth. Jesus: executed troublemaking preacher, maybe. Super powers and divinity: myths. Maybe if you pray enough your back will feel better. Were your parents religious, or did you pick that up later?

"Next level" is an understatement.
Man, had I not gotten injured and become a paraplegic at 17, I could have seen myself getting into judo. Such a neat and beautiful martial art.

Some sacrifice throws. Some pretty textbook sweeps. Most of them are "I'm halfway through this their and it's not working... GO SIDEWAYS!!!"
that windmill triple spin throw is awesome

Wow, that's a great set.
Spectacular!
Judo is amazing & deserves respect !!!
Beautiful choice of music
i have never seen a video with this many hard judo scrambles back to back
1:24 and 2:40 Now that’s some impressive moves!
My absolute favorite track off of SFV. Pairs excellently with the throws =]
Well, I used to view Judo as something that not that appealing in terms of a martial art. I used to do tae kwon do when i was a teenager back in early 90s.. But boy.. this video proofed me wrong. These take down techniques.. the slam.. it is so technically gorgeous! I do like punches and kicks, dont get me wrong.. but seeing this video, judo has some grace to it. Wished I knew this back when I was a teenager. With respect, Rudy

What I love when you hone any skill enough is when you managed to improvise whithin that skill purely on instinct in a way that you would not be able to if you had the time to think about it. I did Judo for 15 years and I had a very unique style only centered on arm lock to the point where I always knew instinclively where my openent elbow where and how to move to start putting pressure on them, purely on instinct and whithout being limited by defined techniques (I know I should have practiced Ju Jutsu, but it was not an option at the tme ^^) But compared to some of these throws where you see them start something then litterraly FEEL, with their back and experience, the position of their oppenent and their center of gravity. Then adjust their posture midthrow to shake the balance of their oppenent and orient the throw. The amount of accumulated experience is mindblowing.
0:51 "Wanna fly boyo" "What?" *Spinny shxt intensifies*
