  • This is a great video! I started training at 39 with AA...the most senior trainee in my class was 67! I flew for 21 years and retired 3 years ago after USAir came in and basically dismantled what was left of the AA brand. With it went AA scheduling/work rules that made me go from loving my job to dreading it. At that point it was no longer something I enjoyed- The last straw for me was being pushed back onto a rotating RSRV system after being off for years. I miss the job I had, not the one I left... That being said, if you have a passion for this industry and are healthy , age is not a barrier. Better to go for it and know vs never trying and always wondering 🙂

I'm employed full time so I get paid whether I'm flying or not, including ground school, and only have 7x reserve days a month. I'm based in Brisbane, Queensland (which is near where I live) , so all of my flights are Brisbane return. If we need to pax anywhere, it's organised by the airline during scheduled work hours and we're paid for that too plus any allowances etc. Hope you come to Australia soon! I had a group video interview with one of the "big 3", got my no thank you. I have a face to face in a couple of weeks with another of the "big 3". I have considered applying for one of the "low cost" carriers, but the Glassdoor reviews are terrible, however - I live in Dallas and they will be hiring and opening a Dallas base next year. If your airline opens their apps, it would be one of my top choices. My daughter who is 25 is also going through the process too.

Age is just a number one job that does not discriminate against age is the airline industry. Whether you're 40 50 60 1070 it's not a big deal it's actually good we rely on people that are mature if you're in shaving can handle it it's good at 45 years old today is just a kid he blowing good shape these days some look better than young people in their twenties he doesn't matter it's just a number okay whoever is older and reading this don't be discouraged with your 50 or 60 40 or even 70 apply apply apply they will like you also women getting more attractive with age.

    • Sorry for my typos I'm talking into my phone I didn't realize it was that bad but as I said the older the better and this is coming from the inside older people are more reliable as opposed to younger people that might not know they want life it might have a boyfriend School other things when you work for airline that airline pretty much owns you and they want your undivided attention takes a dedicated person to be a flight attendant years ago would have been the end thing to hire pretty blonde bombshells but today after realizing the turnover rate and people being sent home from training we see a higher number of people that succeed that are in your 40s and 50s our oldest flight attendant is 85 years old so don't be discouraged. An older women especially get more attractive with age this whole thing about Young pretty flight attendants that's all a optical illusion true beauty is inside true beauty is a woman getting older a man becoming more distinguished looking both inside and out I'm sorry for the weird text I am using I am typing talking into my phone good luck everyone

  • I'm only watching half of this tonight as it's sort of late and this old one will need to be in bed before long. Maybe you will be addressing it. I think that if an older person - say 50s or 60s - a person who may not be in the position as long in order to see some of these dividends. They might go into it with different goals in mind other than huge salaries and or even set - not-on-reserve - schedules due to reserve years. Probably things like fulfilling a dream or a chance to do a little traveling would come into play more. That's the trouble with you young people. Good night...

I asked for 3 weeks unpaid days off to go to FA training but they denied it😒Schools end on June but the training starts next month😒What are your recommendations? It is worth the risk? I’m a single mother of a 21 years old daughter.

    • Well, that's a lot to consider. Would they give you your job back? Have you considered asking the airline if they would defer until a later date? I've heard some do that. I mean if it is a dream...will you regret not trying now? What if you don't get another offer for awhile? I would consider how you feel about all of these questions in your decision. Training is A LOT but you can absolutely DO IT! Let me know what you decide!!

Third I hope it's a great/has been a great birthday and will be a great year. Four FYI I have a tendency to go back and edit until it says as best as I can exactly what I wanted to say. Don't know how that shows up on your end. Till next time

    @TOBEYTOO32@TOBEYTOO322 жыл бұрын
    • There is not a 'limit' so to speak. But, you owe the company for whatever they have to pull. So if I get a trip pulled for the commuter clause they can add a trip to my board if needed, or you offer days off to pick up something. I've heard varying stories about how this plays out. I've used it twice but for reserve and was usually able to get there on the next day. I'm not sure why I never vlogged about it. 🤷‍♀️

When I started in the mid 70's we were still called Airline Stewards and Stewardesses a much classier name for the Occupation than Flight Attendants ( sounds like someone who cleans the Lavs). • You can't even spell flight attendant. What's a "fight attendant," a MMA ring girl? 😂 Get over yourself. They aren't bored, just experienced. What do you consider "good service?" You sound like you want a 20-year-old ego-stroking girl to serve your chicken or beef. Get a gf and let us do our job...which is SAFETY and unfortunately at times, first aid and dealing with inflight emergencies.

  • Hi! New subscriber here. Airplanes have always fascinated me but I had never thought about that i could actually WORK on one until one of my brothers went through training a few years ago to become an airline mechanic. So I started looking at the FA career about the time this pandemic hit. I quickly learned that I have too much debt to make it on a beginner FA salary. Long story short, I’ll be 42 this summer. In early 2000’s I have put in over 13 years of EMS experience and I truly miss working with people one on one. So until that FA career door opens, it’s full throttle to becoming debt free so I can enjoy my retirement career without financial stress.
