hahaha
Bruh I knew I'd find a comment like this ahahaahah
Ya been away a while maybe you didn't hear , I don't shine shoes no more
Liam Chaplin your a funny guy....
"Where is Joe Pesci?!" "He's gone. We couldn't do nothin' about it."
Anthony J. wha-... what do you mean?

@@SHANELMUSIC Well... You know what I mean. He's gone! That's it.
@@Vanth0ny and that's that
Nice thread.
Rest in peace Ray Liotta. Your role in Goodfellas is forever cemented in cinema history. I will be having a Ray Liotta marathon in your honor. Rest in peace, legend.
We're going to miss him
UNLAWFUL ENTRY, 1992 Was Excellent. Ray Liotta Played a Cop.
@@johnhuber354 gonna have to check that one out. Thank you!
Watch Something Wild, a cult classic Narc, Blow, Identity, Heartbreakers, Sades of Blew, Identical, Copland, Unlawfull entry, Saints of Newark..........All great!! I heard Corina, Corina was good but did not appeal to me
I need to rewatch Copland. It's fantastic.
RIP Paul Sorvino (April 13, 1939 - July 25, 2022), aged 83 And RIP Ray Liotta (December 18, 1954 - May 26, 2022), aged 67 You both will be remembered as legends
Of doing this underrated movie
A "Goodfellas reunion" is NOT a reunion without Joe Pesci. Period.
Probably he was searching for his shine box
now go git yer shinebox!
THANK you! Jesus Christ ....
Details? What is the gist of their fight?
He made that movie. After he died the movie was not as good.
Ray looks like he still seeing helicopters!!
Lol. maybe he still remembering that heli's chase.
Better he's seeing helicopters instead of his old babysitter "Don't Yeah Yeah Me" Lois
😆😆😆
hahaha
Hahaha good laugh
Paul Sorvino played one of THE most realistic characters I've ever seen in this sort of movie! He nailed the silent, but powerful figure in such a believable way.
And he didn't have to move for nobody...
He might have moved slow, moved slow
Yes and no...he was a little too fatherly...the real Paulie wasn't anything close to being that nice..he was still good of course
@@robbie192 Yeah, and the real Tommy was 6'2". I just mean in general, seeing as none of us watching actually knew the real people they were portraying, Tony did an amazing job at this sort of character.
@@NickWright y..not trying to disagree..Sorvino was great...almost too likeable lol...where pesci deniro and Liotta characters really did terrible things...the guy that played Maurty...that guy was realistic!
Pesci wasn't there because he went to Florida to do a hit with Anthony.
Nope. He wasnt there cause he went up to detroit with Frank to make a hit on jimmy hoffa
Thats supposed to be Henry lol
Pesci died last week of Covid-19.

Comparing "Goodfellas" to "The Godfather" is like comparing apples to oranges. They're very different movies, and they're both incredibly well-crafted.
***** Thanks for clarifying that for me. I feel enlightened, thanks to your valuable insight.
***** You are sort of right in a way....Pauly was only a captain..he was not even a boss.
***** I always thought it was interesting that the boss of the family, Tony Ducks Corallo, was never mentioned in the movie.
Daniel Toma That analogy worked out perfectly. Godfather, oranges. lol
The Godfather was more of a romanticized version of the mafia
Lol at Deniro his laugh is legendary. That face every time he smiles you think someones getting whacked.
😂😂😂😂😂
“As far back as I can remember, I’d always wanted to be a gangster” RIP Ray, your work and your movies will live on forever. You are forever a Hollywood legend.
The best part about these interviews is that Robert De Niro always looks like he doesnt want to be there

He hates interviews. He rarely ever does them.

Paulie is such an underrated character. The death stare he gives Henry at the end of Goodfellas sends chills down my spine.
+FunnyVideoMaker77 I like him in The Firm. A small but memorable scene.
+FunnyVideoMaker77 Sorvino would likely never be considered a great actor, but yeah...he NAILED this role, and then some.
+Paul Johnson He was based on Paul Vario, actually. Nonetheless, very scary guys.
FunnyVideoMaker77 I saw a short video on Vario on YT recently...a very scary guy indeed.

+DukesideoftheMOON I didn't realise he was retired, thanks for the info. Wouldn't have been much of a stretch for him to spend a few hours paying homage to Goodfellas though. He was, for me at least, the iconic character of that movie.
With all the remarkable screen power of the men in this film, I think Lorraine Bracco often gets overlooked. In my opinion, her role was Oscar-worthy. A glowing, forever masterpiece.
I would agree with you their as well. Lorraine Bracco performance in Goodfellas gets overlooked.
At least the sopranos community appreciates her
True. She gave the best supporting actress performance of the 1990. So I agree. Brilliant work.
Well, she was oscarnominated so its a role that put her on the map,its just Liotta and especially Pesci steals the movie due to more memorable moments mixing violence with comedy.
@@christofferjenzen78 I glad to hear that she was at least nominated, I didn't know that. So many actors are overlooked at Oscar time, especially people like Peter O'Toole, criminally left out by the Academy. Jewish people call this phenomenon, "Passover."
The movie Goodfellas really got screwed that year at the Oscars. Best Mob movie ever produced and directed and didn't get the Best Picture award. It's criminal.
At least Pesci won. But your right it got screwed.
I agree.. hands down best Italian mob movie of all time.

How Scorsese didn't win an Oscar for this, I'll never understand.
That's insanity. To this day if it's ever on tv I turn it on. Not often I have seen a movie hundreds of times and don't get sick of it.
Ghost snapped it up that year.
@@controllerbrain It was “Dances with Wolves”.
Scorsese was in Hollywood probation
Because he’s not political & it was a very violent film
Ray Leotta GOT ROBBED. He DESERVED A OSCAR.
Ray Leotta got an oscar for another film, he wasn't in Goodfellas.

RIP Ray Liotta - an unexpected huge loss for Hollywood and the world around. He was a great actor who shone in his roles like the bright light of the sun on the still waters of a lake. He was a great human being who moved a lot. May he now be in a better place - my thoughts are with his loved ones.
Ray Liotta was one of the top actors, especially in GoodFellas. R.I.P. Ray.
The look on Ray's face, when Lorraine points out that he's playing footsie w/ her under the table, is definitely giggle-worthy.
He was checking if that would stimulate some luck with Lorraine. But, she called it out.
I don't blame him for trying! She is still a hottie!
I was looking to see if anybody caught that look on Ray's Face as he didn't seem happy whatsoever.. does anybody know if he was married or had a serious girlfriend at the time cuz I'll bet she wasn't too happy about that.
I don’t think so I think he acted serious to hide his playfulness LOL. Because if you look at 2:31, Lor and Ray look at each other and Lorraine is covering her mouth. I think maybe he did it during Paul’s part of the conversation and THEN she said it
2:27-2:31 you can see her giggle a bit
Everybody asks, "Where is Joe Pesci?" I ask, Where is Martin Scorsese?
Thank you!

Stefano Falotico the godfather is the best of americangangstermovie, sorry!

Not really everyone claims that but goodfellas was more realistic. No gangsters end up like Michael corleone they end up broke dead or in jail
Luca Palumbo i seen both Goodfellas was more American realistic of the times. The Godfather series was great for the 70's
The older Lorraine gets the more beautiful she becomes. And her voice is the epitome of sexiness.
Mind-blowing that Paul Sorvino felt that way initially about the character and then played it so brilliantly.
Ray Liotta looks like they just dug him up out of the ground for this interview

The guy who plays Paulie has barely aged!
And his real name is Paul. LOL. Father of Mira Sorvino.
that's because he's always looked old.
i think he died recently
That's because Paulie doesn't have to age for anybody.
@@Ori0n1975 hahaha.
The scene with Tommy's mother is my favorite too. How Scorsese set it up for his mother was DIABOLICAL: he didn't tell her about Batts being in the trunk the whole time.
Ray Liotta became even more menacing and scary like a real mob boss as he aged.
The Godfather was the best dramatic portrayal of the mob life! Goodfellas was the best realistic portrayal of the mob life...two of the best movies ever done!
FWIW, Coppola agreed to do Godfather on the basis, this would be metaphor for the development of American Capitalism. Goodfellas is a metaphor for itself.
..What about Lepke with Tony Curtis ....
Godfather 2 was better ask the Soprano's.

The fact that there are so many people in this comments section quoting lines from this movie attests to its endurance. It'll live forever as one of the best American films of the 20th century, alongside _Gone With the Wind_, _The Wizard of Oz_, _Casablanca_, _Citizen Kane_, _Rebel Without a Cause_, _Psycho_, _The Graduate_, _Star Wars_, _Rocky_, _Airplane!_, _E.T._, _Pulp Fiction_, _The Shawshank Redemption_ and _Forrest Gump_.

The first I was aware of Paul Sorvino was when he played a dad on the TV show, "We'll Get By". Goodfellas is one of the best movies of all time. Director Martin Scorsese led a stellar ensemble cast, four of which are featured here, and Joe pesci, who had a scheduling conflict.
