USCGC Munro received national acclaim and international attention for a dramatic interception and boarding of a drug smuggling semi-submersible in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. On June 17, 2019, Munro and PACTACLET crewmembers, in coordination with the deployed HITRON asset intercepted and boarded the drug laden semi-submersible. Munro and PACTACLET crewmembers leapt onto the moving sub in order to gain positive control of the vessel and safely remove the crew. This boarding resulted in the confiscation of 17,000 pounds of cocaine, totaling $232 million, and the detention of five suspected smugglers. The CGC Munro returned from a three-month deployment on July 11, during which they offloaded contraband from 14 drug seizures totaling 39,000 pounds of cocaine and 933 pounds of marijuana, with a combined worth of $569 million.

  • Munro means Mont Ross. The Munro's (monroe's) were given a Fiefdom within the Earldom of Ross, separated in two parts, the mountains flanking Easter Ross.

    • @@abcdefgabcdefg11 No Possibility about it, the Man's name was Munro, and Munro's only come from one place Easter Ross (eastern half of Ross-shire/Ross County), they Historically lived on the Mountains Flanking the Heart Land of Ross, infact the Old Heart and Blood of the Highlands! For their Devote Loyalty to the Race of the Priest (the Great Clan Ross) their Lands were turned into a Fiefdom split in two parts. Ross' were the War Masters of Scotland, and Munro's gained our Favor by Crushing a Rebellion in Ross before the Ross' (all way at War), even heard it happened! Munro's were Warriors! And there name means Mount Ross because they lived in the Mountains flanking the Heart Land of Ross (the 1st Earldom of Scotland, the Earldom of Ross). Ross at first was just a Peninsula, Ross meaning Promontory, and than got extended as a name to the ingeneral area from sea to sea. Munro's as in there name Mount Ross predates Ross' and our name, Ross' come from Wester Ross and took over Easter Ross, and it was the War Master, Chief of the Great Clan Ross, the 4th Earl of Ross which was 1st to take on the Surname Ross, a Pedigree, and he is my progenitor like most modern western Ross'. Now briefly during the age of The Laird of the Isles/ The Earl of Ross they were known as Monrosses.

    • @@abcdefgabcdefg11 Most Mount Rose's are renamed Mount Ross's, easily displayed in what was Moray, just South East on the Border to Ross and now part of Ross County. But they'll have a Fort Mount Rose (or something like that) in lands the Ross' use to Rule , and pretend it was Fort Rose or some shit! Its just awful how you try to wipe us from History the very best you all can!

    @cjeppinga@cjeppinga3 жыл бұрын
    • The sub? It can't. It's only semi submersible. The majority of the vessel is underwater but they can't dive under like a true submarine, they rely on the fact that the majority of the vessel is hidden under water to conceal it as its underway.

    • @@dennied7826 thank you, I guess that makes sense.

      @cjeppinga@cjeppinga3 жыл бұрын
    • @@cjeppinga The authorities in south America have caught a few true submarines but it seems to be super rare due to the cost, I guess the cartels decided that these were "good enough" considering they can load them a few tonnes of blow and according the coast guards probably optimistic numbers they catch 11% of them. (How they came to this number is anyone's guess) so thats a pretty high success rate.
