But we clearly see since his election that his governement is a right wing one. Usually when a candidate announces himself to be at the Center of the political chest, he is on fact a right wing candidate. Trump does not learn from his mistakes, he has risen the National Debt exponentially, and he has zero morals. He is not even loyal to his own family, he talks about his youngest child as if he isn't his, plus all of his older children grew up in boarding schools. To go on, how many bankruptcies has this man had? The answer is a lot, and ultimately when these wealthy people use loopholes to get out of paying their debt, or to avoid repaying their loans the debt often insured by the FDIC, that debt then trickles down and the lower classes end up paying for it. Its welfare for the Rich! He is no great mind of business or of anything else, nothing but a spoiled child born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Seriously, wakeup. Anyone except Trump 2020.

What this means is that if a country (let's say Canada) does not spend to that 2%, the US does not have to make up for the difference because there is no broad NATO defense budget. No country pays into a pot of money for NATO (see page 15 of the document below). Also, NATO members have been increasing their defense spending since 2014 when Russia invaded Crimea under Obama's administration. If you are going to give credit to Trump for increased defense spending of NATO members, you also have to give credit to Obama, who saw the start of this increased defense spending.
