It is an AK style...an enlarged AK made by Saiga in Russia. I bought one and had it for years. Fitted a cheap red dot reticule on the inbuilt rail and introduced many people to clay target shooting. You really couldn't miss on a rising target from near dead behind...just cover the clay in the red circle and BANG...busted clay. New shooters got the hang of it really quickly... Shot rabbits, hares, ducks.... took 3 inch shells (gas adjust with a click 1 and 2 marked) Never had a failure to feed, fire or eject. $700 well spent back in 2007..

I am too broke to afford the Saiga. So I went with the JTS M12AK. $350 when I got mine brand new. Love it. Uses Remington chokes, same as an 870, so cheap and easy to get anywhere. And with an adjustable gas port, it'll shoot everything from slugs to light field loads just fine. Or you can close the gas port and make it essentially a straight pull bolt action, 12ga, Chinese built AK. Love it. 10/10, would recommend.

It has no full auto mode. The model that is commercially available is limited to semi. It can only be fired in a full auto state if modified.

Cheap pumps are infinitely more reliable than cheap semi’s
with shotguns you dont really need semi auto/ auto, you can shoot just as fast and precise with pump.

It is an AK style...an enlarged AK made by Saiga in Russia. I bought one and had it for years. Fitted a cheap red dot reticule on the inbuilt rail and introduced many people to clay target shooting. You really couldn't miss on a rising target from near dead behind...just cover the clay in the red circle and BANG...busted clay. New shooters got the hang of it really quickly... Shot rabbits, hares, ducks.... took 3 inch shells (gas adjust with a click 1 and 2 marked) Never had a failure to feed, fire or eject. $700 well spent back in 2007..

I went got hurting with a friend once. I had a Saiga, with a spare mag in each back pocket. He a .240. As the sun started to set, we heard the grunting and rustling of some wild pigs. He suddenly wanted to leave, fearing we’d stumble into the pigs after dark. I, on the other hand, knew a TRex wouldn’t stand a chance.

The only down side to almost all ak platforms is their lack of a last round bolt hold open. It really makes reloading a lot slower of a process if you haven't practiced much with them.

Love this shotgun so much, I got two. Much better platform than my AR style shotguns. Much more reliable and looser tolerances so it doesn't malfunction as easily or as often.
In Russia it's also very popular for hunting, self defense and sports. But Vepr-12 is better in my opinion. I own Saiga-20 and Vepr-12

I am too broke to afford the Saiga. So I went with the JTS M12AK. $350 when I got mine brand new. Love it. Uses Remington chokes, same as an 870, so cheap and easy to get anywhere. And with an adjustable gas port, it'll shoot everything from slugs to light field loads just fine. Or you can close the gas port and make it essentially a straight pull bolt action, 12ga, Chinese built AK. Love it. 10/10, would recommend.

I've got the MK12 and it's a beast. I've never heard anything good about Saigas.

@jimvines5589 too bad that I live in the pimple in the armpit of the Midwest, Illinois, and it's now illegal to own drum mags, even if just for a shotgun to waste shells.

It has no full auto mode. The model that is commercially available is limited to semi. It can only be fired in a full auto state if modified.
