A road trip special; all the way down to Land's End and then back to Hampshire in my 2012 Jaguar XKR-S. We drove just under 700 miles (a little over 1000km) to review the XK and decide whether it's the perfect road trip car, or if it's a little bit flawed as a result of the lowering, increased power and stiffening of damping and suspension. Spoiler alert - it's extremely thirsty!
As always thank you very much for watching, videos coming soon of the Apple CarPlay install and hopefully a track day will be imminent also.

31:15 Was the XKR-S a good road trip car?
Decent!
Great memories of visiting Looe and Polperro 35 yrs ago, it hasn't changed one bit by the looks of it !
Really enjoying the channel mate. Xkrs looks great. Tender to buy for this Jag is the CTEK 3300. Jag uses the same one and puts a jag decal on it but it’s the same thing. Soon as you park it trap it on ❤️❤️
Thanks! More content coming soon, just very busy with work at the moment.
This is what XKs are all about enjoy the car dont lay them up there not an investment for another 25 years make memories
Absolutely, bought it with a little over 25k miles on it; almost at 27k now in
Really enjoyed this video mate well done, i took my XFR around cornwall in july and i couldnt think of a better car to do it in, yes it was expensive and maybe a little big for some of the really tiny roads but for comfort and power it was perfect. i have the 8 speed box in my xfr and it was great for motorway travel. if your 6 speed is sluggish give it a good service by a zf gearbox specialist and ask if there are any software updates you need. my car has just ticked 60k so ive just had the gearbox serviced by E & E jag specialists in milton keynes, it wasnt sluggish or anything i just wanted it done for peace of mind. kudos for the music aswell...........had a nice 80's retro vibe to it. keep up the good work
Thanks! Yes it was almost perfect, apart from feeling a tad wide. Gearbox in Manual + Sport + Dynamic was great; it's only in regular 'drive' / dynamic off where I find it's a tad slow to shift.
Great road trip Chris, we were only on Porthcurno beach on Thursday!
Small world! Very nice, I hope you enjoyed it and didn't have to wrestle too much for beach space like everyone seemed to over the bank hol weekend!
@@TiffLangham No, thankfully it was much quieter.
Great video and stunning Jag. Will you upload about apple CarPlay?
Thanks! Yes I’m just putting together some more content and that will be included 👍🏼

@@TiffLangham you the man!!
Now turn around and drive the NC 500 !
We have plans for the NC500 in 2023, would be in a very different car though!
I have one in Italian racing red and I’m considering selling it. It has more than 120KM on it, most of which is daily use. The car is a sleeper now though.
Italian Racing Red is a great colour 👌🏼 if petrol was cheaper, I’d love to daily mine too!
I can never understand why XK owners are so into the mileage its a V8 Its not going to be economical if you want good MPG dont buy a V8
I'm really not too fussed - just while we were on a long road trip it seemed like something good to include in the video for prospective owners
