0:00 Introduction: The best natural remedy for ADD/ADHD
1:13 The benefits of vitamin B3
2:27 Vitamin B3 for ADD or ADHD symptoms
3:20 Niacinamide supplements
In this video, we’re going to talk about some fascinating data from the research of Dr. William Kaufman, M.D. He found that niacinamide in high doses is an effective remedy for ADD (attention deficit disorder) or ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Vitamin B3 is the precursor for NAD, which helps your cells extract energy from food. When you eat, the NAD molecule helps take the electrons from your food and turn them into ATP for energy.
Vitamin B3 helps your nerve cells get more energy. It may help decrease hyperactivity and increase focus at the same time!
Nutrient deficiencies can cause the brain and nervous system to become hyperexcited. Niacinamide is a water-soluble version of vitamin B3 that can help energize your neurons and effectively mitigate ADD or ADHD symptoms.
Because niacinamide is water-soluble, it doesn’t stay in the body long. This means you should take about 250 mg six to eight times per day. This can also be effective for ADD or ADHD in children.
It’s also important to clean up your diet to help with the symptoms of ADD or ADHD. Niacinamide supplements cannot replace a healthy diet. Always check with your doctor before stopping your medications.

Then I stack that with N-Acetyl-L Tyrosine, Lions Mane and L-theanine . There’s a few more things in my stack but those are the key ingredients, hope this helps!

  • WOW! I’m 67 and was finally diagnosed with adhd about 4 yrs ago. I was prescribed aderall but recently found it was elevating my BP to dangerous levels. I knew that could be the result but not until it was taken at the dr’s office did I realized how much it elevated my BP. So, now I’ll try this. Decades of living with adhd and it could have been as simple as taking B3; 250mg 6-8 X daily. My granddaughter takes it as well and as a collegiate swimmer she can’t take it during swim season, they burn in excess of 1,000 calories in one practice and during season they have 2-3 practices a day. It does diminish your appetite greatly. Next time 8 go to the grocery store guess what I’m buying?! Thank you for sharing this. Sending to my daughter.

  • Dr. Berg thank you for all your knowledge!how does a vitamin b complex plus compare to just the B3 as niacinamide? Pure encapsulations has a b complex plus with 108mg of B3 (niacinamide) along with Thiamin-100mg, Riboflavin-12.7mg, Vitamin B6-16.7, Folate-667 mcg, Vitamin B12 400 mcg, Biotin-400 mcg, Pantothenic acid-100mg. Or is the vitamin B3 by itself better suited to treating ADHD?

  • So many things can cause adhd symptoms: 1) Improper sleep (sleep apnea issues). 2) Primitive reflexes that have not been integrated. There are simple exercises that can help with this. 3) Nutritional deficiencies. 4) Processed food, preservatives (they're in so much stuff, and not always labeled...like peanut butter and nut butters, butter, dried fruits) and food dyes. Avoid fluoride water (city water usually has flouride). Leaky gut has a connection with ADHD as well.

The problem i have is eating a healthy diet, if im feeling down and have no motivation most of the time I'm gonna opt for the junk food as i literally don't have the energy, patience or focus to be able to buy healthy food and cook a healthy meal. Or even clean the kitchen enough to be able to cook at all!

We associate the disorder with a lot of the male systems of the H the hyperactivity and in females the H is not as common as is the inability to finish things. Dexedrine is effective but I have anxiety taking it lol I would love to try a natural treatment option. Thank you!
