Wanted to make a long gear train where all the gears visibly rotate. Using only Lego parts. Restriction: the first gear and the last gear must rotate at the same speed (gear ratio = 1:1). Enjoy!

I love how every once in a while the gears are like *”father... please... we can spin no longer...”* and the guy adds 1 row and speeds it up and they’re completely fine
I remember something like this, the robotics teacher worked with these things and asked us to do some group projects, it was in the eighth grade. I remember being with my friends, for some reason, imitating a pinscher.
Just because there’s almost no friction doesn’t mean a force is applied, whenever a gear is applied it puts a lot more weight that needs to be moved, by that applying a greater force for each individual gear, because of that with every gear in the mix it would need a greater force to pass the mechanical force onto the last gear, in a way, it’s like you were pushing a big block of ice across the pavement (starting off with 5 kg and adding 1 kg every second, Ice doesn’t melt), you almost have no friction applied in said object, since you are the constant push even if it would be easy at first, the weight would eventually overcome the strength being applied to it, bringing it to very little to being completely motionless.
When you need slower moving gears but don’t have different ratios. Torque: Fine, I’ll do it myself.
Before him, I didn’t know what torque was
Funnily enough at the end you can see they still move at the same speed
Well, he's not gaining torque, he's just losing angular speed over friction
Could you do it differently for less strain on the motor?
@@19grand not too much to do, trying with the least friction materials and reducing friction with oil, lightest materials and you will increase a little the efficiency, but we are talking that 1 gear has to drive the weight and momentum of 110 more, the power is there, but from the first till the last, youll have tremendous mechanical loss, converting all power to heat due friction, it wont be an oven and not even a noticeable heat, but its huge for the mechanism

“Welp, time to hook up the power drill.”
Took me a second to piece together what was happening, then it hit me square in the face. T = J*α, where J is the moment of inertia and α is angular acceleration. Moment of inertia is proportionate to mass. So the more mass you introduce, the greater the moment of inertia. But if the torque does not change, then the product of J and α must not change. So as J increases, α decreases by an equal factor, until eventually the acceleration due to the applied torque becomes negligible.
thats an impressive amount of cogs, and its working loadlessly, but makes me think mechanical computers (and computers in general) can do "thinking work" with no or little load!
