Nismo 370Z Makes THIS MUCH POWER With 2 MODS! * CAUTION LOUD *

Today I put the Nismo 370Z on the DYNO!
This was a 2 day event put on by Carolina Z Club! Occupy modern weekend events in partnership with Soho.
At SOHO Motorsports for a very cool Dyno Day event. This is my 2016 Nissan 370Z Nismo with the AAM Cold Air Intake and Resonated Short tails.
Very interesting to see how it compared to the wrapped 370Z. Long tube headers w/ catback on the standard Z put out a bit less power than my Nismo with intake w/ muffler delete.
From what I have seen, stock Nismo Z's have been putting down anything from 280-300 at the wheels. So very cool to see my car doing almost 315 with just the long tube intake and muffler delete.
Super smooth torque and HP curve!

    • Gabe Lohr These guys have a great reputation. Probably the best Nissan tuners in the country. They originally built that black TT Nismo I drove last year, and that car not only ran smooth back then, but obviously still running great to be going for 800!

  • Those are good gains for the two mods that you did. I had a Fast Intentions CBE, a Stillen G3 long tube CAI and an EcuTek tune done on a Dynojet chassis dyno at Specialty Z in their shop in Simi Valley, CA. We got 321 peak rwhp @ 7200 rpm and a uniform 15% increase in torque across the rev range. The car runs as if it had been given an extra cylinder and is so much more fun to drive, in addition to sounding very boss.

Go full bolt on with a Motordyne HR plenum, Fast Intentions Longtube headers, some test pipes (or HFC's) and the full AAM catback and tuned with Uprev and see what she does. Also I suggest a final drive swap to 4.083 gears. That's a mod you can definitely feel and suits the car perfectly.

    @GrayFox370@GrayFox3706 жыл бұрын
    • GrayFox370 fast intentions long tube headers are already taking the place of the test pipes/HFC, that's why they are called long tube. Buying a set of LTH and then testpipes would quite literally be a waste of $400 because you would not be able to install them. Z1 on the other hand makes short tubes that can be paired with HFC or test pipes.

That translates to about 300 to 313ish wheel horsepower on a roller Dyno like the Dyno Jet used in the video due to drivetrain losses. It requires that you be in 3rd gear and flat foot it at 2000 RPM's to redline. You stand to hit 96-98 MPH by the time you hit redline. Other than that, it's not difficult at all, as long as you follow the directions when flashing the ECU. That's the most risky part.

I'm currently at n/a 290whp and 2948 lbs with a full tank of gas and plans/ideas to further reduce weight and improve performance.

  • When you get a tune, are you going to increase the rev limiter to 8,000 rpm. The car shouldn't have an issue with that even with stock internals. You can get some good hp gains because you aren't loosing much power at high rpm

    • Don't forget the stock oil pump on the VQ37VHR goes out around 7.8k RPMS. Please don't be trying to give people advice on how to blow their engine lmao. That's also suprising about the balance issues with a over square setup.

    • Platinum soho did my tune and it left the shop with an 8200 RPM redline and I had stock intake and exhaust. Their choice, not something I even mentioned. Not sure how good or bad this really is. Curious that this car didn’t even rev to 7500 for the tune.

      @Mark2ube@Mark2ube6 жыл бұрын
    • Just do yourself a favor don't risk revving past 7.7k heads and oil pump cant handle it. If you really want to rev to at least 7.9 then upgrade oil pump with billet gears. Still not worth the small power increase. Soho is a good tuner too, shows you why they didn't rev past 7.5 because it's risky and doesn't make any noticeable power gains. Save up for forced induction that's where the real power is.

    • It's not all about power. This is really the last of the raw driving manual transmission sportscars. Name another car that actually drives like this. After filming over 500 car reviews on KZhead. There is no other N/A manual sportscar like this. FRS is way too slow to even have a chance. And it has 4 seats. This is just a good old school 2 seater. It's all about the fun twisty roads in a Z. People don't buy these for drag racing. Trust me, power isn't everything. And I own a 700 HP GTR

      @Mrhandyhitman@Mrhandyhitman2 жыл бұрын
    • Keep in mind bang for the bucks is also about the fun you get. You don't get much straight line speed for the money. But you get a ton of fun and raw driving. A GT mustang will give you more power for the money, but less overall fun because it's not even close to being this mechanical to drive or good in the turns. All depends on what you want your next car to do. Brand new this car is a ton for what it is! But I bought it used for $35k with 6k miles. And even today these still go for mid 30s to 40s even! So it's worth the money since they hold value.
