    • The characters are given certain traits from their voice actors. It's easy because, during these voice recordings, they watch the actors faces and incorporate their expressions/ quirks. If you look at other movies made by Disney animation and Pixar, you'll notice (especially in Wreck it Ralph and Frozen.)

    • The Japanese consonant that causes confusion as to whether it an L or an R is actually a combination of both vocal sounds, and it's almost the exact same sound as the Spanish R ("err-ay"), with the single tongue roll, that's why she had no problem pronouncing his name the Japanese way. I too found it odd that she was pronouncing it the Americanized way here.
