  • You got me at "Show me your friends and I'll show you your future." Brought back a lot of memories. If you take your life seriously, you will see a permanent improvement. I began regularly making intentional steps at 38 and remained consistent. The $100k was the hardest lol. I currently have over $4 million in my retirement account at the age of 51.

It's not only about having money to invest, but you also need to be knowledgeable, persistent, and have strong hands to back it up.

  • I'm a multi-millionaire...by no means a billionaire though. People have asked me what my keys to success are and I say, "the greatest advantage I had was having no advantage at all". The problem with this generation is they believe they are entitled to everything, and very few have a clue as to what a hard days work is. I was not born into poverty but we were by no means rich....not even middle class. Everything I wore came from hand-me-downs and thrift stores. I grew up on a small farm and I was exposed to hard work at a very young age. Before school began every morning I had more chores to do than most kids today have in a year. Up before dawn to collect the eggs, feed the animals, water the animals, collect firewood, chop firewood, start the fire in the house, etc. This was "before" school even started. Nothing was given to me...everything was earned. If I wanted money I had to earn it. I developed an entrepreneurial spirit at a very young age, too. I walked for miles collecting .05 bottles that I'd turn in for money, I grew vegetables in the garden and sold them, etc. If you have nothing, and you have dreams of having something...you figure out how to get it....and once you get it don't spend it. Spend less than you make and learn how to make your money work for you. Those were the secrets to my success.

    • Actually no. That was a collection of bullshit with no substance as to how you earned a dime. Thank you modern republican for your double speak, but I still believe in truth and logical correspondence over madness and am therefore a democrat.

      @chrisnoecker5287@chrisnoecker5287 Жыл бұрын
    • @@chrisnoecker5287 No substance, huh? If you say so. I presume what you're looking for is a step-by-step playbook of every decision I've made good & bad over the last 25 years. A "Tell All" book that you can follow to get rich, huh? There are countless books and videos out there if that's what you're looking for. That said, I could tell you how to start and run a business...but you won't because I can tell immediately that you have no work ethic and it would fail. I could tell you what investments to make...but you can't because you don't have the capital to do so. Instead, what you want is for someone to unilaterally give you millions. I would suggest your best bet is to play the lottery. What I did give you were basic concepts on what helped get me to where I am today. You can take it or leave it. I could care less if you follow my advice because my principles have served me well enough to see my 2021 W2's with approx 1.75M in gross earnings. I've ran into people like you my entire life and people like you are always the same...angry at those that have worked hard and EARNED what they have. You want what they have, but you don't want to work for it. If you can't have it...then nobody should have it...or perhaps redistribute everything so everyone has the same. Your "Democrat" mantra, right. You're probably in your 20's or 30's and like most of your generation you feel entitled and you believe that life owes you something. Let me tell you something...life owes you nothing but death in the end. It's guaranteed to all of us...rich and poor alike. Sadly, people like you will always live a less than mediocre life and will in all likelihood be dead broke throughout your life...always in debt and always envious and angry of those that have more than you. Nonetheless, good luck with that "Democrat" lifestyle. Write me back in 25 years with an update.

    • @@chrisnoecker5287 republican here. I’ll answer your sarcastic, emotional response. I served in the military for 6 years, just like the man in the video above. I took my 9-11 GI bill, and earned my bachelors degree, while collecting my basic allowance for housing of $2400 a month. I shared an apartment with 3 other dudes. Lived really cheap. Saved $1,000 a month living off ramen/tuna for 3.5 years. Was hired right out of school, used my VA Loan to buy my first home. Put my savings into fixing up this home, rented out 2 bedrooms for a few years as a young man. Sold the house, used a 1031 exchange to roll my capitol gains into a new home, no money down with another VA loan along with a ton of equity from the 1031 exchange. Moved into that house with my wife. Put years of time effort and work into improving it. Sold it for 625k only owing 120k on it. Bought the home we live in now in Washington state. Put a tiny home on our property. Air BNB that. It pays our mortgage and then some. I’m 32. Zero debt. Own well over half a million in real estate. Have a TD Ameritrade and fidelity account. Bought in during this recession while everyone was panicking and the market was all red. I’m def not going to be a billionaire. But I will be a quiet millionaire, laughing at the all the conceited, pompous, arrogant college kids working at Starbucks getting a liberal arts degree claiming the world and government owes them something and how all “rich” people are evil. I’m that republican who you would belittle and insult simply for having a different idea of how our government should be run. I’m sure you never served a day for this nation, so insults from folks like you don’t really mean much. Matter of fact they’re just fuel for me to earn more, and live better than my neighbors with “build back better” signs in their yards, as our nation plunges into an economic recession the likes of which haven’t been seen for 40 plus years. Cheers to you pal

That said, look at the actual history of the mega-rich billionaires. Carnegie for example hired the Pinkertons to kill between 15 and 300 at the homestead strike. I have no doubt you would not resort to this measure to resolve a labor dispute as number 1. Thats the point.

I also heard news of a guy that made $250k from about $110k since the crash and I would really look to know how to go about this.

  • I've heard about this 'gaming' approach to rewards. Like in games if you kill a boss you get a better sward to kill a bigger boss. So you get something that will allow you to improve your progress in this area. Taking this into account, an appropriate reward for investing consistently and with discipline would be a better MacBook or a new car - something that would allow you to make your investing more effective or joyful, or at least something to encourage you to work harder

For example if I just got a 1000% gain on Tesla and then pulled 85% of the money out and went into a load of more stable dividend stocks like CVX So I would say diversify, but also use those growth opportunities to build the capital to invest in the dividend payers (or in cash flowing real estate)

Nothing more. I have learnt that sitting down at home in this quarantine, watching hours go by is just a waste of my time. It is hard for one to dedicate themselves to success but once they have that motivation and determination, that fuel that drives them to wake up every single morning, they will achieve their goal. Personally for me, I do not want to worry about bills in the future and be able to provide for myself and take things easy. Start when you are young, find something that interests you and at first improve your craft on it, do not worry about the money at all, if you are doing everything right, the money will flow in naturally. All those excuses you make, forget them all.

We all have different purposes in life and if you feel helping the less fortunate is your calling then so be it, there’s nothing wrong with it. However, it could have been a coincidence you came across this video. Or it could also be that you’re searching for more and perhaps this video could be a warning to start helping yourself. There’s various reason why people are homeless, but one thing I do know is that it’s not your responsibility to look out for them. You have a life to live, places you’d like to visit, things you’d like to do, but helping the homeless is not going to get you there.

None of my friends have big goals, nobody tries to achieve something big. They all have the A4 lifestyle and some just waste their time on video games, then go to work and repeat. I hear this "show me your friends" quote when I was 18 and thought it was bullshit, I thought I could break free whenever I wanted. Now... 7 years later I'm still in the same spot, the only new thing is I was forced to get a job to survive, and I have a 3 room apartment. My friends are the same, and so am I. I think it's time to make some hard decisions and change.

Find out what means something to you first and you'll find pleasure and power (real peace) from within...THEN share that with the world. You'll start out a success and build upon it rather than doing this or that "to be successful." Want always comes from a place of not having/sense of lack. It's a carrot on a stick. Come from a place of being and fulfillment will already be yours, and it will be something you're compelled to share with the world.

"Show me your friends and ill show your your future" means to surround yourself with friends that are sucessful in the things u do. And thats for those who want to be successful in what he or she do. If u dont care about sucess, ignore it. U dont have to stop making friend with ur other friends, just spend lesser time hanging out with them. And its wrong to believe that money is power, there are some things money cant buy. • Damn I was caught off guard with how well put the perfectionism was. I've struggled with maladaptive perfectionism for sometime, mostly because I had no real idea what to do, but he put it in the best perspective.

  • Wealth, most of the time, is one big lie...most importany in life is to an honest life and have peace...and you know, not be cold, naked, hungry, and so forth

    • Whats most important in life, is what is most important to you. If you don't love and embrace the cruel lifestyle of big buisness, you won't make it. I guess you want happiness for yourself, and those around you that you care about. Some people stay single, and get multiple lovers, living for themselves. Others want kids, from 1 kid to a dozen. Some just want to work a certain field, a certain job they love and are about to do skillfully. You can't take money with you, but money does take alot of stress out of life and relationships, its just the way life is. Wouldn't it be great, if you could do what you love? Trump said it best imo, that you need to love being a businessman. I've seen him be a scumbag, but I've also seen him work his ass off most all his life. He does what he sets his mind to: not everyone can do that. Though he did have a leg up on others, he still was and is very successful. You earn money by borrowing money and investing, reducing liabilities and increasing assets. And never giving up is true: if it was easy and worked the first try, there would be more wealthy people in the world.

    • Actually having 1.5 dogs is great. Then you only have to worry about *one* of them barking. (Unless you chose the front half.)
