Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
We got the afternoon
You got this room for two
One thing I've left to do
Discover me, discovering you
One mile to every inch of
Your skin like porcelain
One pair of candy lips and
Your bubblegum tongue
[Pre-Chorus]
And if you want love we'll make it
Swim in a deep sea of blankets
I take all your big plans and break 'em
This is bound to be a while
[Chorus]
Your body is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder, I'll use my hands
Your body is a wonderland
[Verse 2]
Something 'bout the way
Your hair falls in your face
I love the shape you take when
Crawling towards the pillowcase
You tell me where to go
And though I might leave to find it
I'll never let your head hit the bed
Without my hand behind it
[Pre-Chorus]
You want love, we'll make it
Swim in a deep sea of blankets
I take all your big plans and break 'em
This is bound to be a while
[Chorus]
Your body is a wonderland
Your body is a wonder, I'll use my hands
Your body is a wonderland
(I'll never speak again, again
I'll use my hands)
[Bridge]
Damn, baby
You frustrate me
I know you're mine all mine, all mine
But you look so good it hurts sometimes
[Chorus]
Your body is a wonderland (I'll never speak again, again)
Your body is a wonder, I'll use my hands
Your body is a wonderland (I'll never speak again, again)
Your body is a wonderland (I'll use my hands)

  • Its so strange how we connect songs to a certain stage or point in our lives. Back in 2007 I had to leave my home for the first time to work in another city. I had lived all my life with my parents and this was my first time. While I was packing my bags to leave, this song was playing on TV and it suddenly became my signature "Homesick" song. I remember crying like a baby that day. Later whenever I heard this song, I felt a deep urge to go back home and see my Mom and Dad, my town. Now that my Mom is no more, this song sometimes is very tough to bear ...so many memories. RIP Mom.

As for the I'll use my "I'll use my hands," I think you can infer what he was implying there. As for why he included a line from a previous song I'm not sure, but I like the style of it.

    • You know that in 2003 someone out there turned on the radio, heard this song, and wondered where all the good music went because the sound had changed? In other words, this is utter nonsense. This song is catchy and I like it just fine. But it's pretty standard pop fare, and the only thing that sets it apart from current pop writing is that the production styles have changed.

This song is not even amongst the top 20 best songs he has ever written, but let's just appreciate the wonderful journey this song ended up taking us on. Some where from this song all the way to "carry me away", we have seen John grow as a person. And so have we. It's 2020, and no one can deny the musical genius which John posseses!

We'll make it Swim in a deep sea Of blankets Take all your big plans And break 'em This is bound to be a while Your body is a wonderland Your body is a wonder (I'll use my hands) Your body Is a wonderland Damn, baby You frustrate me I know you're mine all mine all mine But you look so good it hurts sometimes Your body is a wonderland Your body is a wonder (I'll use my hands) Your body Is a wonderland Your body is a wonderland ❤❤❤
