A bit more info is that they gave him a tampered bow and I believe his first shot was too low and then too high. The knights gave him a tampered bow so that he could look like a fool and then be kill. When the assassin runs he ask if they want him death or alive so they told him alive so he procced to shot him in the foot

Damn that was one of the better anime out there. Too bad it didn't get a season 2. The manga has 51 chapters and the last one says The End but I haven't checked with the novel, for if the end of the manga is the end of the novel or the end of a volume.
Light novel series goes quite a bit further and deals with fighting demons and meeting other attractive women with magical weaponry. Most of which develop an attraction towards him.
Very good anime 😀💯 Would 1000% recommend so watch it
