THE owner of an injured protection pit-bull forked out a small fortune for restorative surgery - after claiming the dog saved his life. Marlon Grennan, 28, says four-year-old Ace once stopped him from being car-jacked at a gas station by attacking the would-be robber. So when his prized dog was left crippled after injuring its knee during training, Marlon didn’t hesitate to fork out $4100 to fix him.

To those asking why he has a muzzle on.... I have a Mastiff who is probably one of the friendliest and naturally trained mastiffs in my city. He won't hurt a fly. But no matter how friendly or trained a dog is, if he or she is in extreme pain or discomfort then they may snap. If my Mastiff gives a weak ass warning snap it can be enough to break bones...and this guy looks like he has a strong jaw so same applies to him too....also many vets make it mandatory that the bigger and muscular dogs have a muzzle on

The mother licks her puppies clean of everything so they NEVER a need a wash (= also des infecting, also for humans). Washing might cause allergies when older. Secondly 3 week old puppies don't have to have their nails cut! The more often you cut, the faster they will grow! Dogs hearing is sooo much better than ours : DON'T SCREAM AT THEM. A dog doesn't understand screaming HEY HEY either, both scares them and any dogs natural behaviour of "protecting" is already disturbed if not broken if the dog is very sensitive. Future owners don't know what the breeder did, so most start neglecting and abusing HIS dogs when they don't get along. They will get or buy another one somewhere. They already have no more patience teaching a dog AND accepting their VERY OWN INDIVIDUALITY - JUST LIKE THIS BREEDER. One should start building up the dogs trust by showing respect instead - from the first day on. Never chase dogs, definitely not those you know. Turn your back on him/her and walk away relaxed. Don't even turn your head to check if they move. Only listen closely. They will follow if they trust and respect you. You can additionally clap with a hand on your leg. Visual signs are much better to work with almost every animal. Pet them and talk nice as treat, much more effective than food/cookies as THEY WANT TO PLEASE the owner. Stop cutting their ears after the third month : causes infections and buyers don't (can't) spend money on veterinarians. Nobody cuts off dog breeders ears and leave them with exposed holes... I wouldn't mind taking over that job. As soon as you ALLOW a dog to ATTACK OR BITE he/she is out of your control for lifetime. Unless other people who ADOPT dogs as his to work with. Takes a lot of love, time and patience to help these poor souls find its own inner peace again. His dogs can't even walk on a leash when taking into the garden. Also not jump over the low counter in the training room, nor walk down the stairs outside at an age of FOUR MONTHS and more. Shows they're never walked and socialized until 3-4!!! month old. Who carries around 3-4 month old dogs when they escape? All they know is their kennel /cage. Why take to the "training room" when 4 months old and not earlier? His sister was again BEING CARRIED there? Drive a dog to bite is the goal, so HE says! Hope they bite HIM to teach proper BEHAVIOUR and NATURAL DRIVE (his own words).

When my dog was literally 16 months old he carried a wild boar 200 meters, he is a pit bull mixed with Labrador, greyhound and Irish wolf hound. He is such a beautiful dog

Why can't all of his dogs look and be more like Ace? The rest of his dogs are obviously part Mastiff and are more like big-boned, heavy, slow American Bullies or American Bandogs. Ace is the closest thing to an actual American Pit Bull this guy has as far as athleticism, speed, working ability, endurance, and drive go. The American Pit Bull is lean, longer-legged, tight-skinned, and very compact. It is not buff, short-legged, loose-skinned, or slow. American Pit Bulls can run fast and jump high and have the build for the stamina it needs to keep that up. American Pit Bulls are hardy working dogs that were bred to be all-around farm dogs working the farm as cattle/hog dogs to control, catch, drive, and hunt animals both big (wild pigs, deer, bear, etc.) and small (raccoons, badgers, bobcats, etc.). They need that speed, energy, and stamina as much as they need their strength. I am going to post links to facts on both the American Pit Bull and American Bully breed in my thread below so that more people can learn the differences between the two breeds.

As you can see, this dog is much more athletically built, toned, and tight-skinned than Hulk. This dog looks and moves much more like how dogs called Pit Bulls should look and move like. His other dogs are bigger, bulkier, and slower because that is how he produced them. Since those dogs are obviously part Mastiff added a lot of Mastiff DNA.

That vet was not right man. You shell out $4100 you expect the vet to come out and give you the update, not send in one of her techs. Because of the value of these dogs, this owner needs a much more specialized vet, one that knows him and his dogs BEFORE they ever need surgery.

chloe gage Safety and medical reasons. 1. The ears are sensitive and since he is a guard dog they could be seriously injured. 2. It's easier to prevent any ear infection.

I usually have a problem with ear clipping, but for a self defense dog, it makes perfect sense. It keeps the dog safe from getting his ear torn off in a struggle with a bad guy.
