Why Patrick Mahomes is the 'greatest QB talent ever seen,' Eagles smart play | NFL | THE HERD

The Kansas City Chiefs silenced the Cincinnati Bengals, city and even mayor with a 23-20 AFC Championship Game win. Patrick Mahomes threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns on an injured ankle to send the Chiefs to Super Bowl LVII. Colin Cowherd explains why Mahomes 'is the greatest QB talent' he has ever seen. The Chiefs will take on the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles, who dominated the QB-depleted San Francisco 49ers 31-7. Philly's defense forced three turnovers and the run game rushed for 148 yards and four touchdowns. Brock Purdy injured his UCL and Josh Johnson left the game due to a concussion. Colin reacts to the Eagles victory and advancing to Super Bowl LVII.

    • I respect Colin for his objectiveness today as compared to the saltiness last night immediately after the game. Last night, Colin put a lot of blame on the refs. Today he sighted that Bengals had more turnovers, more allowed sacks, fewer yards, worse on 3rd down, ect. and not just the refs. I know how much it hurts too because of Colin's relationship with Burrow on his show.

There was a turnover (interception )and rushing TD overturned last night due to penalties as well. I will agree that the play the referees allowed the chiefs to replay was a bummer, it did not result in any points etc. Chiefs had a really good punt return called back on a holding at the line of scrimmage- poor in my opinion but hey, in a game of inches its easy to blame outside factors. Bengals had multiple chances to score in the 4th quarter and didnt capitalize. Chiefs lost 4-5 starters during the game and ended up playing TEs at wide receiver. Sometimes you just gotta tip your cap They were being so arrogant that I felt like they had it coming, but i didn't know if chiefs would be healthy enough to make them pay. Yall gotta find some solutions for yall's O line. Yall tried but yall are about to have a wake up call once Burrow, Higgins, Logan Wilson and Chase get paid...its the reason chiefs ultimately had to let Tyreek go...you cant keep everyone...Vonn Bell, Pratt and/or Jessie Bates might be gone this offseason too.

  • To be fair about Pederson, his firing likely had more to do with tanking the last game of the 2020 season than his performance as a coach. I think Lurie used Pederson as a scapegoat for that when the NFL went to him about it. Pederson essentially took one for the team and the NFL, as if tanking could be proven it would be devastating to the league.

  • Talent is important, but it can't be emphasized enough how much you "want it". Rodgers and Mahomes faced nearly identical situations last year. Both gifted men. Both had been to the championship game. Both had lost their star receiver. Both were tasked with working with new receiving corps. The difference? During the off-season, Mahomes rolled up his sleeves and went to work, taking his new receivers to Texas, working with them before training camp even started. Meanwhile, Rodgers decided such antics were beneath him, it wasn't his job (not in the contract). He did his own thing, aloof, sipping hallucinogenic tea in Peru, trying to become one with the Pacific Ocean. In short, Rodgers didn't want it like Patrick.

Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and of course Patrick Mahomes. In terms of the greatest pure pocket passers I've seen I would say Joe Montana, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner, and now Joe Burrow is making a strong case.
