Jonathan Ferguson, a weapons expert and Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries, breaks down the insane weaponry of the Counter-Strike franchise, including the iconic AK47 automatic rifle, the FNP90 submachine gun, and the many versions of the AR-15/M4 rifle.
In the latest video in the Firearm Expert Reacts series, Jonathan Ferguson--a weapons expert and Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries--breaks down the guns of the Counter-Strike franchise, and compares them to their real-life counterparts.

  • 6:15 The scenario you described did happen in Vietnam with a compromised US sniper who had the bad luck of running straight into a squad of enemy fighters. He was carrying an M1911 and a revolver (I don’t remember the caliber). He immediately drew both weapons and got to business. Would be weird firing 2 very different handguns in a situation like that.

The version used in Global Offensive is the more modern version with Magpul style iron sights and a Picatinny rail attached to the top. This variant of the P90 was first seen in Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare. This particular version is called P90 TR (TR stands for "Triple Rail")

  • Until he mentioned it I never thought about the reason for the speed change when you take the knife out was because of a weight change I always just figured that it would be more so along the lines of it being more clunky while holding a rifle/LMG/SMG due to it restricting your arm movement which would reduce your ability to run normally because as much as we don't really think about it how you move your arms does greatly affect your speed while running. Try running with your arms crossed and just see how much more awkward it feels. That being said I do think that it is really all just in the name of game mechanics because realistically there is no way you run the same speed with a AUG as a MP7 IRL.

    • @@goose8447 The Scout does have a few advantages on the AWP, the first being movement speed which allows for faster peeks and to scout the enemy,.pun intended and secondly faster rate of fire so people who are very good or cheating can hit the second target faster if they get a headshot on the first.
