Hi Danny, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia at age 62 in October, 2017. The levels of lymphoblasts shown on the biopsy were significant. I started chemotherapy treatment which included immunotherapy. The trial I was on called for 4 cycles of blinatumomab to be added to the chemotherapy regimen. I’m convinced this saved my life. I’ve been in remission since February, 2018. I don’t know what type of leukemia you’re fighting but my recommendation is that you should research clinical trials that might be available to you. The strides made with the use of immunotherapy and car t cell therapy to treat leukemia have been nothing short of remarkable. You are a young and strong man and will beat this. I was sent the following early on in my treatment program which helped me a lot through treatment Remember how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. You may not be where you want to be but neither are you where you used to be. If I can help in any way please let me know. Please keep up the strong fight despite the drawbacks you have experienced. You will prevail young man🙏

I don’t know whether this will help. My son was first diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of 10. He is now 29. He has had 5 relapses! Honestly I don’t know how he keeps getting back up. He has been continually told how unheard of his case is (not helpful) Hang in there. ❤❤

I am sorry but running 30 miles is not an example of strength or resilience. It is a young man doing what he thinks is the right thing to do and he can’t be blamed for that but it demonstrates that he’s not handling the significance of the situation. Danny you need to start doing everything the doctors want to do. I know it's rough. Been there and done all that in 2009 myself. My bone marrow had to be flown in from Europe to Dallas, Tx it was so rare. I've had no leukemia in 14 years. Doctors quit checking it after 5 years. I know it seems like the doctors want to use a sledgehammer to kill a fly but leukemia is an awful dangerous fly. You can't keep doing chemo because that will make an old man out of you and who wants to have 30 more blood transfusions to stay alive. You're basically a vampire. Sometimes a second transplant will do the trick. I know it's a rough situation. You've got at least 60 more good years to live as young as you are so get that mess behind you as quick as possible. Plenty of time left to go to school and see friends when you're done. As always, cancer victims are in my prayers.

I have been diagnosed with chronic myleoid leukemia which is the version that doent require chemo if caught before it gets acute phase. I have to take a daily pill for life. My blood and bone marrow tests are ok after 6 months and doc says i have normal life expectancy. However i am freaking scared cuz it is also known that some times for uknown reasons it becomes resistant to treatment and it transforms to either AML or ALL. I need to live with that and hope it doesnt happen and also hope my organs will not be too damaged by treatment. I know i am a bit luckier but still i can understand your mood right now. Definitely take a second opinion from an other doctor and if possible at a big cancer center such as city of hope or memorial sloan. Keep fighting and stay positive !!! We pray for you

Your video just came up in my recommended. I’m so sorry that the leukemia is back. My son was diagnosed, a week after his 15th birthday, in August of 2022. He was also diagnosed with AML; KMT2A rearranged AML. He had to go straight to transplant after 3 rounds of treatment. He achieved deep remission with the very first round, but because his type is considered high risk we were told that bone marrow transplant was something that was an absolute necessity. He had his transplant January of 2023. His brother, a year younger than him, was his half matched donor. He does track and field and soccer, now a Junior in high school with huge aspirations for college and career. Working hard via a tutor and remote access, absolutely helped get him through treatment and transplant. He also recovered quickly from transplant. You two are very similar. People who haven’t been through it, or as my son says “undergone” ( he refuses to say that he went through something, self perseverance thing), have no real idea what it’s like. My son said the isolation was the worst. My only recommendation would be to get a second opinion, if you can. Research a hem/onc. Dr that specializes in your type. People will have opinions on what you should do, what you could’ve/should’ve done differently, to them I would say it’s your journey, therefore you decide what is best for you, and what you can handle. Nothing you did or didn’t do caused this. It’s the nature of this beast. Sadly, sometimes it comes back even after a curative process such as a transplant. Our team explained to us, even before the first round of treatment, that the type my son was diagnosed with has a high potential to 1) be resistant to treatment, therefore he had biopsies after every single round. 2) relapse even after a transplant, therefore he had biopsies frequently in 2023. Send you all good vibes and lots of love.

Of course you’re feeling depression and defeated a bit. It is quite natural to feel overwhelmed having gone through what was the cure to now reassessing it all again. However, you are young you are intelligent, and you are an athlete! Perhaps take a course in positive thinking and planning, and maybe even find a support group of people who have had the same type of leukemia as yourself or still have it to date and dealing with it. Because you are young, there is a lot of alternatives for you with groups to enhance your mental health and well-being as you continue to fight leukemia. Your fault it once and you won already. It shows you are winning. Setbacks happen in life and I am a quarter of a century old and have many physical fights I must deal with, even now. But as you said life is a gift and while it is very understandable for you to feel pessimistic about treatments and the pros and the cons, you must and can focus on the pros that you choose and look at yourself as the winner that you truly areas a human being. Much healing love supporter. SS.

What about Immunotherapy? If you go for a second bone marrow transplant, do you have to be put on a waiting list? I'm not a doctor, nor am I personally saying it cures cancer - but I've heard so many things about fasting in terms of healing the body, as it goes into a phase called Autophagy. In response to the stress brought on by fasting or calorie restriction, Autophagy causes the body's cells to clean out and recycle any unnecessary or damaged parts. It also induces an increase in the Human Growth Hormone... Studies show that fasting leads to a major increase in HGH levels. Interestingly, one recent study in 47 people found that HGH levels increased five-fold during a 24-hour period of fasting. Lastly, the Carnivore diet...Dr. Berry, Dr. Chaffee. May you receive blessings upon blessings, friend. 😊

Then I did research on diet and cancer and started fixing up my food after the treatment. I have kept researching and have now got my diet down to fasting. I would be careful and research if you think of doing this while undergoing chemo as some fruits affect chemo. Is there nothing else you can do while undergoing this? I was doing a degree at the time and I was 45 so it keeps your mind busy and gives you purpose. Let the body relax and fix what it has to fix and keep the mind busy and focussed on the future.

Brave,both of you.
So young 😔 Light and healing to you🌷
So so sorry for your loss 💔💔sending you love and prayers as you grieve for Andy 🙏🙏🙏
My mom’s neighbor/friend had leukemia. He failed with chemo. Had a transplant that failed. Had a second transplant, complete cure. 25 years out.
What type of transplant?
@@RustyShakleford1 I do not know if it was his own bone marrow/stem cells or a donor.
My sister was diagnosed with a rare type of Leukemia in 2011 and given a less then 5% chance survival with a bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy and radiation she never gave up went through all the treatments and a near perfect bone marrow match and transplant and by the grace of god she never had one set back and to this day she is Cancer free. Never give up
Hi Danny I also got a relapse after BMT. Many times I feel like giving up , life is hard still even post transplant. I am scared of what is to come. Seeing your video I relate to your pain and struggle, but the last thing you said “falling down is a part of life but getting up is living “ hit me very deeply. I will keep trying until my last breath. Thank you for sharing your story
Thank you. Wishing you the best
I’m a 4 time survivor of cancer with many chemo treatments and stem cell transplant. I was stage 4 when they found the cancer. I had great drs but it was with the healing grace of God I am now 2 years cancer free. I will pray for healing and comfort for you.
But he does- just as you are doing and will continue to do. He is in remission right now - 3 years. The longest since his first remission at age 11. He has been continually told how unheard of his case is (not helpful) Hang in there. ❤❤
Get a second opinion at MD Anderson. Just a suggestion. I wish you the best young man.
Love you little brother ❤️ Don’t listen to all the negative crap people are posting. These internet trolls need to find better hobbies than harassing a guy fighting cancer. Stay strong and block some of this nonsense
My parents both had myelogenic leukemia. It’s a terrible thing, and I pray you not only survive but thrive after the next treatment. God bless you and be with you!❤
Crazy that both your parents got it. Did they both work with something that is now a known cause?
@@TexasbyStorm, no, but my dad was a pipe fitter and would sometimes come home soaked in whatever was in the pipes he was welding. Sometimes benzene, sometimes xylene. My mom washed his uniforms in the same machine we used daily. I’m a bit worried that my exposure and my age will catch up with me.
@@MsElaine1027Thanks for sharing that. The fact that both of your parents were exposed to carcinogens most probably explains why they both got this rare form of cancer. I hope that you stay well.
@@19th-Nervous-Breakdown, thank you!
I know 4 people who had leukemia. All beat it. One had it come back but beat it again. Have faith. Today’s medicine is amazing.
This randomly showed up in my recommendations. I wish you all the best and I hope you can find healing! Greetings from Saxony
Such a handsome young man. The fact that you ran and finished 30 mile race in itself shows your strength and resilience. Just always reflect on that moment and know that You have what it takes to get through this❤
I am sorry but running 30 miles is not an example of strength or resilience. It is a young man doing what he thinks is the right thing to do and he can’t be blamed for that but it demonstrates that he’s not handling the significance of the situation. Your lifestyle has to change everything has to change. For me as an older man it is still tough but not nearly as tough as it would be for Danny. Unfortunately he’s making wrong decisions. It’s not fair at all. Heartbreaking.
I am an ex-CLL Stage 4 patient Danny, 30 months of treatment, in remission now for 7 years. Hold firm and hold positive, you have age and strength on your side, I'm confident you can beat this and I feel you are getting close. I wish you the very best of luck towards a full recovery, full remission and a long and rewarding life. All the best from Ireland.
Was your treatment v and o? I have cll in treatment oral pills
@@lucylu9792 Treatment in 2017 was FCR (6 cycles/6 months) followed by 2 years of immune suppression (rituxin). At the time, this was the gold standard treatment for CLL based on clinical trials. More recently, modern meds for CLL are less chemo based and more immune targeted (oral pills) and showing great results. If the CLL comes back for me my Oncologist said that oral treatments will be the new regimen. I wish you the very best of luck with your treatment and your health.
Brother, The climb is worth it. Onward march!
I had a friend in California that had same thing and he was on his Deathbed He had the Stem cell transplant at UCLA and he went into remission. That was in 1998. Prayers for God to heal you🙏 Never give up.
Danny, we are inspired by your strength and courage. Jesus is with you! Uncle John and I continue to pray for you!
Thank you!! ❤️
Keep climbing, Danny -and please keep us posted on your progress. We're all behind you, cheering you on. We want you to win this race!
Hi Danny, it was humbling to hear your thoughtful account. Best wishes.
Only 4 percent of the stem cell registry is mixed-race, and the best chance of successful donor matches comes from those who are of a same/similar admixture. More mixed-race people need to sign up to be in the registry. 💪🙏🏻
Can't get over how impressed I am with your perseverance and mature approach to this. What a journey you've accomplished. I have this feeling you're going to be bragging about this fight to your grandkids.
Extraordinary, eloquent young man. You are living proof of never giving up. God bless you.
Oh no man this sucks, i had Leukemia to in 2012, was in Hospital for 2 years, first year was all chemotherapy and then i had an bone marrow transplant and im doing fine now.. i was 16 when i got diagnosed im 28 Now and doing great
I wish you good luck and prayers! Sanjosemike (no longer in CA) Retired surgeon
Only just came across this never watched your videos but You got this! you can do it as tough as it is.
I was diagnosed with CHRONIC Myloid Leukemia at 67 years old.Too old to go through a tansplant.I was never given chemo but went right to the target drug Gleevec (One of the doctors-Dr.Drucker-OHSU Hospital was one of the inventors) That first year was very rough and I ended up with pneumonia and had to have blood and platlet transfusions. With time I went into remission. I am now 80 years old and have been on only Gleevec.I stopped for 5 months to test if I could go off,but the numbers started to rise.I consulted with Cr.Drucker several times as I live in Oregon.I can understand your frustration with the failure so far of the treatment.Maby a second opinion is warranted. My best wishes to your full recover.
I, too, have CML and treated by Dr. Druker. AML is a ver different leukemia. Have you gotten a donor leukocyte transfusion to boost up your donor cells? Good luck to you.
@@123scrappygirl No..I am not familiar with that.Other than those transfusions I have only used Gleevec or its generic.Do you use it? I understand the difference that is why I said I have chronic.
You're young. The most important thing over everything is to get your health back. You can always go to college... at any age. Wishing you the fullest, total recovery!
I wish you a full recovery and a long and healthy life, young man.
It's tough what you're going through, but admire the strength you have to carry on. I would do the same because life is so precious! I sent a prayer for you, and believe in miracles❤
One of the comments made here, said the second bone marrow transplant worked after the first one failed. It worked, so now 25 years later still going strong. Stay positive and keep moving forward, doing what is needed to defeat this. ❤
Just came across your channel, Danny,I pray that you get through this and go on to better things
Hello. I am a new sub and am sorry for all of your health challenges. Sure wish this didn’t happen to you, or to anyone. Wishing you well, and all you need to be healthy and get better. Sending you prayers, virtual strength, and lots of positive vibes. 💙
I WILL PRAY FOR YOU. HANG IN THERE , STAY STRONG
Sad to hear this. Here in Cleveland the Browns radio play by play broadcaster had a leukemia relapse 10 years after getting a bone marrow transplant and being cancer free. After a season of being in and out of treatment he is thankfully back at it. Keep your head up…
You seem like a really good guy and I’m sorry you have to go through this. I’m rooting for you, Danny.
We pray for you daily Danny. I am so sorry you keep getting knocked down. Please keep climbing. May the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen you. We love you!
I'm so sorry Danny, I'm a new subscriber and I'm writing your name down to pray for you. Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid, I will trust in You. The Lord will give you strength and endurance to keep climbing.
Danny, as a current leukemia patient who is writing this with his fingers crossed, hoping his transplant holds, I understand completely... the doubts, the plans, the patience, the expectations all stepping right in front of you and your goals. This is a hard life, but it's always worth getting back up. Reach out if you need anything.
I appreciate it! And wishing you the best going forward
People idly talk about heroes all the time ... but you, sir, are the living proof; the genuine article. May there be much continued strength to your potent arm. Our world needs more people just like you. Be proud.
Hey Danny You really are a warrior. Watched your first video and understood you have AML. We pray for you
Keep fighting…❤ (I am a cancer survivor…I know how terrifying it is…keep going…never stop fighting)
Swimming, long gentle walks, yoga for exercise. Your putting too much strain on your body. I know its annoying but slow and steady wins the race. All the best, you got this.❤
Wishing you all the best for a lasting remission. ((❤))
Thank you for sharing this
@@audrey4150 absolutely. I hope my son’s journey helps give hope to others in the thick of it. We’re still in it ourselves. His next milestone to reach is that all important 5 year remission mark. We were told that if he makes it 5 years in complete remission he is considered cured. He’ll be 2 years in remission this August.
@@audrey4150 you’re very welcome.
God I hate cancer, I am so sorry. Wishing you strength and health!
Praying for you, Danny, that you have a long life ahead of you. God bless you! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️
You’re gonna beat this brother! You have the wisdom, courage and stamina to prevail.
YT randomly suggested this video to me. I’m so very sorry that you’re going through this. Almost 10 years ago, a month after my very last semester of college started, I was diagnosed with AML. I had an exceptionally difficult year fighting while in a critical condition. It ended up disabling me permanently, BUT… I am still here! So much has changed in the medical world since my diagnosis. I know this has got to be a very scary and frustrating time for you and your family, but try your best to hang in there and not become overwhelmed. Sending all my love and prayers your way!
Falling down is part of life, but getting up is living. Beautiful. Love it
So sad you have to face more treatment, but you seem so determined to get the best help. I wish you all the best.
Don't give up. I'm on chemo right now. Round 3 out of 8 tomorrow.
good luck brother
I feel you brother it’s truly heartbreaking to go through treatment after treatment and see zero improvement, it’s horrible to go through a treatment that’s works for everyone and then thinking you’re on the other side just to be back onto square one, currently I’m going through the same process and I can tell you that just keep trying, enjoy the little moments of peace and visit as many doctors as you need, I know treatment and blood works and doctor visits can be so tiring but for me the memory of me being good it’s what’s keeps me going, the hope for a bright tomorrow it’s the only thing we have so just try to keep that in mind and if you need to cry cry, if you’re frustrated be frustrated, illness are so unfair but you can’t give up, fight till the end.
Stay strong and optimistic. Call on family and friends - their love and support are good medicine. It's worth the fight; you are worth the fight.
I hear you and I understand how you must be feeling. Stay strong and do not put off treatment for any reason.🙏
SS.
You are an amazing young man, I will be praying for you 🙏🙏🕊🕊
Praying for your healing and recovery
I will pray for you Danny. I am also a cancer patient too. You can do it 💪🏻 we get strong together and hope your new treatment is going well.
Exodus 14:14 “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” 🙏🏼❤️
Wow, I am so sorry that it is not working for you either. I'm also a leukemia patient, 5% here. When I was diagnosed it was 2% two years later I am at 5%. I hate the yearly biopsies. After every single one it takes me about a month to recover fully. Much like yourself I will do all I can to have a regular life. So far, I have not had any of the symptoms. I guess at one point we will start to have headaches. Are you aware of any other symptoms that it is expected for us? It does suck to be in our condition. Good luck Danny, I hope your case improves and you have a long life ahead of you.
Please dont give up. Have a friend who had to do stem cell treatment twice(highly recommend). In this country they take your own stemcells out and "wash them" or something. Meanwhile they knock out the poor patient with max chemo. Then put the cleanced"stemcells back. My friend is free from it now. Its been 15 yrs.😊
Many, many prayers sent your way ❤ Stay strong 💪🏻 You WILL overcome this disease.
Your life is precious. I'll praying for you. May God continue to strengthen you and give you guidance in your treatments. I hear you when you say that you've climbed out of this before and it's discouraging. On the other hand, you've also shown some amazing physical resilience - so that's a good thing! God bless you in Jesus' name.
You look strong man, you’re gonna beat this
My brother was diagnosed with Leukemia. AML. He was 80 when he was diagnosed. He went into remission twice. Unfortunately he had a stroke and passed away. You’re young stay positive it sends good vibes to your body. Wishing you all the best. God bless.

Sending you my best thoughts and healing vibes. 🩵
Such a tough life. I pray everything works out for you.
Praying for you 🙏🙏🙏, you are such a strong youngman!!
Prayers brother, you are in my prayers ✝️❤️🙏🏼
Praying for you. Never give up. My husband is going through the same thing right now. We have been in this battle for two and a half years. We are getting ready to go through CART-T at MAYO next month.

Thanks Jordan ✊❤️
I will keep you in my prayers. You are still young and strong so give time to focus on your health. I have had cancer and did chemo and radiation.
I am so sorry. I just saw this today. My best wishes and respect. 🙏💛
I hold huge love ❤️ nobody wants to be in your position, but you’re awesome and you need to hold your fight. Keep climbing.
