This is both *maddening* from a mechanical standpoint and makes *perfect* sense from a lore standpoint. It's legit the most dangerous thing Nero can hit with. Dante *would* have worked out how to avoid it. I appreciate that using the grab sees him using Air Trick to get away, even.

I have a question for the modders : how difficult would it be to copy/paste the Buster interactions with Dante like the Buster interaction with Cavaliere? This is what I thought. The Buster animation with the Cavalière is a string of kicks and punches, also doable in the air, and the final hit throws the enemy away. So.... Could they copy/paste this interaction, with Dante having a regular stun during the Buster animation and being thrown away with the final hit? I dunno...
Not a modder so I can't quite say about how feasible this actually is, but at the very least I can say that there's a reason why this buster animation is used for so many bosses, it's basically Nero's 'generic' boss buster animation. He uses it against Goliath (only while inside the church), Gilgamesh, Cavaliere, and all 3 versions of Urizen.

Maybe. I have yet to seriously try Dante against himself, but V at least seems to have a relatively decent time at it.

It dont work cuz Dante learned how to deal with that back in DMC4. It's like using the Kamehameha on Goku, it won't work on him anymore

Dude, this Dante went through a lot in dmc 4. He just tired of being grabbed and then stomped like a creep. He understands now what it is like, so he just dodges the damage it’s that simple
You have to STUN Dante to buster him, and since he has infinite super armor that's OBVIOUSLY impossible

@@oliverpreston650 Its simple, when things are lowercase imagine me saying them in a normal speaking volume, then when capitalized imagine I'm saying them noticibly louder for EMPHASIS. I do it in real life too.

What would the animation look like? Personally, I think it'd look like the cutscene where Nero punches Dante and Skewers him with rebellion and onto the statue back in DMC 4. A sorta call back of sorts, although it'd have to be tweaked considering DSD can teleport and I doubt Dante is gonna let himself be stabbed with a sword that only he can wield. Or maybe something like the Nero and Vergil buster animation, where Nero himself is hurt through the process because he and Vergil are so evenly matched, only to stab Vergil with the yamato himself. Maybe something like that?

One of the coolest possible ideas is if you can fight both Dante and Vergil at the same time. for example; they both go Sin DT simultaneously: Dante does Sin Stinger while Vergil does Deep Stinger towards you from opposite ends; Dante activates Judgement while Vergil does JCE. It would so sick if someone made that a mod

This is an odd bug considering that Nero already has a "default" buster, it's the same one he uses on Cavalier and some other bosses
I had wanted to look into activating that default Buster for Dante through modding, but never got very far.

Huh, weird. You'd think they'd use the default boss Buster animation they use for Some Blood Palace bosses.
Looks like something the modders need to work on to get the grab working.
It's possible they could insert some other enemy's grab animation in there for Dante, but I suspect it'd be more work than it's worth for them. But you never know.

Table Hopper activates when you use Side Roll to dodge an attack at the last second. The follow-up slides don't require any timing, though.

Well the answer is obvious, we all know the computer gets to do moves that we aren't allowed to, this is a secret trickster move called ultra taunt, he moves out of the range of the attack and then moves back to the origin point so fast, just to flex his speed on us, you can see it when Nero is throwing him around, he isn't just avoiding all of Nero's attacks whilst t-posing all over him, he's smiling while doing it.

Makes sense, since its the only boss in the game Nero can never fight. Every boss can get one in Bloody Palace at least.
Honestly seeing people do videos like this, it makes me pretty bummed out that the final fight in DMC5SE is just a second Vergil vs Dante. Imo, Mission 19 should have started with the post-fight cutscene, because we know how the first fight goes, technically. Mission 20 replaces Mission 19, starting with the dual stingers passed each other and then you fight Dante, ending with Vergil seemingly about to win when Nero turns up. Mission 20 is then what it SHOULD be, Vergil vs Nero. I wonder, on an actually related note, if its possible for mods to ever become in-depth enough to add animations to the game. It seems unlikely, but it would also be really cool to see someone mod in buster grabs against Dante. Specialised ones, like the exchange with Vergil, not the default slam that you could do in DMC4.

I haven't tried it myself, but I have seen what happens. It uses the normal stab and pull animation for standard enemies.
