  • Thank you so much for this video. I wish derms would stop advising everyone to use retinol near the eyes. I would love your review of WeLoveEyes wash and creams.

  • Thank you for making this video! In my personal experience it pretty much doesn’t matter what I put near my eyes, it always makes things worse. I have recently been diagnosed with mild ocular rosacea. I’ve tried multiple eye creams and sunscreens near my eyes and every one I’ve tried usually causes burning/stinging that gets worse as the day goes on. Interestingly I also had issues with any sort of preserved eye drops. I’ve wondered if it was the preservatives in my skin and hair products as well, so I may just forgo using creams/sunscreen near me eyes. Keep up the great content!

  • what's your take on vaseline around the eyes? dr. Dray (and other derms) recommend putting it around the eyes to avoid getting retinol there. I also found that La Roche Posay has a line that is preservative free (Toleraine) and it's really nice for us sensitive skin peeps. My eyelids just blew up like a puffer fish a few weeks ago and my dry eye issues are back with a vengeance. I'm glad I've found your channel - you've provided a lot of good advice I've been using that I think is helping!

  • Very true, i've used different high end eye creams/serums (even some high end brand sunscreen for face) that really did help with undereye puffiness, but ALWAYS end up with dry eye sypmtoms, which is no good esp when i often drive, as dry eye sypmtom does give me very blurry vision, something very bad when driving.

  • The Journal of the American College of Toxicology concluded that a 2.2% concentration of Phenoxyethanol applied directly inside the eyes of rabbits produced no ocular irritation while a concentration of up to 5% produced mild irritation. The regulations in our cosmetic products don't allow Phenoxyethanol concentrations to exceed maximum 1%. I'm a bit confused about the definitive finding of Phenoxyethanol effects on meibomian glands via cosmetic products. Is there another research report that conclusively proves this. I want to find it. Preferably one that can synthetically test the meibomian gland goblet cells of humans.

The only under eye cream that works for me without watery eyes or Infections or Sty’s is honest companies under eye cream . My sis can use honest companies hand sanitizer without breaking out as well ( a lot of sanitizers break her out ). I do think Jessica Alba has really good skin care out

  • Thankfully I don't seem to have a problem with either of my eye creams, Cetaphil nor the retinal one I have. However, my facial moisturizer I spent over 100 bucks on recently irritates my eyes even when applied outside the orbital zone! The fragrance hanging in the air around my face before it dries actually gives me dry eye. I can't bring myself to throw out such an expensive product, but once this is out I definitely won't be reordering. Such a shame, because otherwise gives me great results unlike anything else. Why do companies have to put fragrance in things?

  • What about Retin A around the aye area? I've read that it can be an irritant.

    @kellycolle3335@kellycolle33353 жыл бұрын
    • I advise against Retin-A around the eye. While vitamin A has some positive effects on the cornea and conjunctiva, it is unfortunately detrimental to the meibomian glands which supply the oily layer of our tears. I advise against applying within the orbital bone. It may still be used on other areas of the face & neck.

  • Is it okay that the cetaphil cream you recommend contains Phenoxyethanol?

    @gissellesainz7704@gissellesainz7704 Жыл бұрын
    • It depends. There is some research that suggests that phenoxyethanol at low concentrations does not cause harm. We DO want our creams to be preserved because if they grew bugs that could be worse than the preservative effect. But, we're still figuring out how much preservative is ok. I attended a recent lecture where it was proposed that phenoxyethanol as the last ingredient is probably ok...others are completely against it. It's so tough honestly to give you a straight answer. I'm sorry, I hope that helps

    • I am finally starting to get some clarity about retinol and will make another video specifically about retinol containing eye creams very soon. Long story short, retinoids are not good for the meibomian glands and as such dry eye sufferers should avoid. It’s possible and likely for them to cause meibomian gland dysfunction even if a person doesn’t have dry eye and we know MGD leads to dry eye. I know they are very poplar and widespread but I don’t recommend them around the eyes.
