G'day Folks and thanks for taking the time to watch the video. Just in case you're interested, l have drawn up a set of Metric and Imperial Plans along with a complete Materials and Resource List. This is a great project for anyone interested in getting the most out of their router. Here is a link to the plans. They will save you a lot of time. Well worth a look 👍 etsy.me/3kJODNP
I loved this jig and I think your video is fantastic! I went to try to buy the plan from Etsy, but I couldn't pay because the checkout failed. Just so you know!
@@pwmmcc1801 G'day mate. Glad you liked the Router Table👍. That's a little strange re the checkout on Etsy, as many people have purchased the Plans without any hassle 🤔 Maybe give it another go and see what happens. Cheers mate and thanks for letting me know 🇦🇺👍😁
Hey mate, love the video. Just wanting to confirm these plans also include the materials and router plate /t-tracks you used ? Love em.
@@LegRot_ Cheers Legrot 👍.....yes they do mate 👍😁🇦🇺
You can buy battery adaptors for most tools also, so with a bit of wiring you could fix a on/off switch to the table.
By FAR the best router table build on YT. Well done sir, you explained all the parts thatvwas needed. Thank you.
Thanks mate! Appreciate the feedback 👍😁🇦🇺
What a great little project. Wish I had seen this before I spent $$$ on a proprietary table. Still want to make it though so thank's for the plans. 👍
Too easy Brett! Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Beautiful job Shane! Simple, yet highly functional. Good idea, using ply with a slick surface. I'm going to have to try this for my router. Thanks for the design. Keep 'em coming!
Not worries DS! Yeah, the black formply works really well mate 😁🇦🇺👍
I enjoy your videos and sense of humor so much. They always make my day better! I love the router table. It's on my project list! Great design and it looks so satisfying to build. Thanks for sharing.
👍👍...No worries Robert.....l really appreciate you taking the time to watch mate 👍😁🇦🇺
This is probably the best video I have seen about building a simple router table that a slightly less competent than average enthusiast can build. I love the way you marked out the measurements using masking tape, and the “Gotcha” warnings were also very helpful. Thanks for putting this out there!
My pleasure mate! Glad you liked the table 👍😁🇦🇺
Thank you so much uncle Knackers. Just bought my first router yesterday and was wondering about a table for it. I think I just found the one I need :) Your channel is becoming my go to for all things power tools and woodworking.
Awesome! Thanks David.....glad you liked it mate and good luck with the new router and table 👍😁🇦🇺
This is a great and good looking project! I already purchased Shane's plans for this and it is my current "toy" for the weekends while building it up! Just finished a decent drill press jig so on to this beauty now! Thanks for sharing, Shane, great work with the plans and easy access to support! Cheers from Southern Brazil!
Hi Jeffo! Yes l remember you mate....thank you for your very kind feedback and also for purchasing the Plans. Good luck with it and make sure you let me know how you go. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺
Maaate, that looks spiffy alright. Love it, great entry Shane

I was thinking of making a router table this summer, and I think I'm going to make this one :), Keep the videos coming! Loving your channel.
👍😁....Thanks Manuel! Appreciate the feedback mate 👍😁🇦🇺
I really enjoy the look of this table! I'm going to keep my eye open for a black surfaced plywood, looks great (not sure if it's sold here in the US). For those watching this that are starter woodworkers or are unsure if you want to put in the track, a very simple solution for the fence is to move those triangular rear supports in a few inches, then simply use clamps on the edges to hold the fence in place. You don't need to worry about it being square to the table as long as it's square to the router bit!
Thanks mate and l appreciate the tip. Cheers 👍😁🇦🇺
It's forming plywood used for foundations. Your local building supply may be able to order it. Go to the local builders supply where the framers and builders shop instead of the big box stores. You can also use melamine board with plywood as a backer for a 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" total thickness.
Beautiful! I need to build a router table and that thing is nice! My son and I loved the dad jokes! He especially liked the round/circumference one. Thanks!

Cheers Richard and good luck with the table mate 👍 Thanks for the feedback 👍😁🇦🇺
I love the look of this and will be getting the plans 😁 But what glue can I use with formply? It looked like ordinary wood glue in the video and formply is waterproof.... 🤔
I was considering making a outfeed table with a router lift in it, but this seems like the better bet. Awesome job and that black looks so sleek. Is that the same as black melamine?
Cheers mate! Yeah, the black looks pretty cool....l've always been a fan of it. A mate of mine just built a kitchen out of it and it looks SO Cool 👍👍👍👍 I haven't seen the black melamine so l don't really know...sorry about that 👍😁🇦🇺
Nice table. Thanks for the video. I love how wood workers make all sorts of woodworking stuff for their own shops. I'm just trying to get something done for the house before it gets dark or rains -- cause my shed is full of stuff and I make all my cuts outside.
Thanks Mojoman 👍👍 Don't worry, my shop is pretty small as well and l often find myself outdoors making stuff 👍😁🇦🇺
I believe this will make a great addition to my smaller work shop. Thanks for the video.
No worries at all Rod! Glad you liked it mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Lovely Build!! - Just wondering how you get wooden edges to stick to the film face of form ply? -- are you using a special type glue or does normal PVA work? :-)
👍😁...Thanks Mark! Mate, in all honesty it was more force of habit than anything else where l glue everything regardless 😂 Having said that, the dust extraction box was only glued and held together beautifully 👍😁🇦🇺
Lovely job but routers are always ready to bite the unwary. Your finger tip was so close when you did the test run I actually cringed. Push blocks please!!

Hi, really enjoy your videos, made the circular saw guide and now using it for this project. One downer is I am finding it hard to source coated ply in anything less than a bulk order (in the UK that is). Any thoughts out there? Also - how are the transfers made?
This is brilliant mate! I wish you had covered this 6 months ago 😁. Would have saved me from buying my Bosch table, your design is far more flexible, and you have the satisfaction that you made it yourself. Keep bringing us the great content Uncle Knackers!

I love this video! It's just what I need to make. Thanks for sharing it. Keep your eye out for a second base for your router so you can leave one attached.
Thanks as always Andy! If you make it mate you won't be disappointed 👍😁🇦🇺
i bought recently a 3d printed insert plate for ~20€ where you can easy put the router in and out,so you needn't a 2nd base.my router is from katsu and it's identical in construction with the makita rt 0700c palm router.the accessories and spare parts from the makita also fit the "clone" and with 60€ the katsu is also only half the price of the makita.

I've watched numerous videos on YT about building a router table and I have to say yours is by far the nicest of them all. I particularly liked the unusual shape. Not only does it look different, it is also very practical because you can reach the router from both the front and the back. I will install a Bosch POF 1400 ACE in the table. Of course I bought your plan on Etsy. Thank you very much for this inspiration. Greetings from Germany.

like it Sean . I made a plate to fit a Black and Decker Matrix jig saw attachment . Just housed out the wooden plate to fit jig saw and fitted wedges under it to hold saw in place . Its clamped to the bench too but was hard to fit an easy to use on off switch ,would slide an electrical tie over the drill switch . Then bought an ozito router table , it works real well for smaller jobs .
Thanks Barney 👍 Well done on having a go at making your own.....always interesting to come up with little problems that pop up along the way.....never seems to go as planned 😊 Have a good one mate 👍👍😁🇦🇺
Just pipped by Maker Mackey for first in but what a cracking entry! Added to the #woodjigs21 playlist. I'm liking these form ply workshop jigs and this in particular looks so spiffy with the red plate, blue track and yellow screws. Great Job Knackers! :D Setting a high bar for the prizes!

I just bought these plans, I am excited to make this project as I am new to using routers and I have a samll trim router that i think will work swimmingly with this table. I look forward to building it. I really love your channel and do a LOT of DYI projects, having the router, which I bought specifically to build my hobby desk. I have only used the one 1/8th inch slot bit to install T-Slot Edge Moulding with, it has not been used much. I cannot wait to have this built up to be able to work on many different projects, such as more tool DIY hacks... and some diorama and epoxy art beses. Will update with how it goes. Thanks again, Cheers!
First of all, thanks for purchasing the Plans mate and good luck with it. I know that you are going to love it! Cheers, 👍😁🇦🇺
Great simple to follow steps , I’m def gonna give this a go 👍🏴
Good stuff Jay....hope it goes well mate 👍😁🇦🇺
This is by far the best looking (IMHO) DIY router table I have seen on You Tube. When I first saw the thumbnail photo of it, I thought you were doing a review of a router table that you had bought commercially. That is meant to be a compliment. I was lucky enough to buy a Ryobi router and table from a guy who just wanted it to do the trim on his kitchen cabinet doors. I only paid 40 bucks for both the table and router! It works beautifully. I may build yours at a later date when I need a table with more surface area. One last thing, if you have any of that black ply left over, I think it would be really cool to build a small T-square to match your table. Great work, thanks!
Thanks Gregg!...Really appreciate the comment mate 👍😁 40 BUCKS!!.....Now that's a bargain!...well done, you can't complain about that one 😁 Good suggestion re the T-Square....may just have to do that one. Cheers mate and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
