I feel she is being so aggravated is because of the place she was at before with other dogs and sounded like to a sad situation so I think with you and Brian will become a great fur baby!❤🐶

Opal is adorable. One thing I would suggest is feeding her the same thing most of the time. Giving her too much of snacks or abruptly changing her feed will upset her digestion. She’s still just a baby so consistent feed is optimal.

We have 5 Chi’s and they all have different personalities. They are all very loving 🥰 and to help stop their dry skin we put a little salmon oil in the food. Our Chi’s prefer to eat off of the floor 😅. Never apologise for a puppy being a puppy. You are the best parents 😄💕

This is cool! You two are doing great, and Opal is living the life! I've really only had cats. I did do a lot of research on fillers and additives, as well as grain free or pea free. For Opal you may look into making her food for her. Sometimes that breed or breeds can have allergies. I bet actually a lot of dogs do because of crappy kibble. My friend has a chihuahua/duchond mix and he has several food allergies as well as a grass allergy. That's who gave me the idea about making her food. Anyhow, you all are so damn adorable. You could try cat size collars or harnesses as they are in smaller sizes than the dog ones. I had a Shitzu that was very tiny and I had to buy her a cat size collar. Also Stella and Chewy is great!

Chicken is a very common allergen for dogs. My bully mix girl couldn't do any chicken based foods. Seafood based was the key for her. I am sure you guys are going to find the perfect fit food wise. You're doing a wonderful job with her. --Megan

puppies like to scatter kibble sometimes because it is a ruse to get more to eat if there are a lot of siblings competing for the food. they dump it all over the floor so they can scatter the other dogs. my husky used to do that until he grew up.

Opal is at least half Chihuahua so they are susceptible to dry skin, mine is too and I use oatmeal spray on him as well. It helps. and a brush btw --- I use a cheap dollar store human hair brush simply because it is more gentle and he likes it. Chihuahuas are also prone to baldness. Their lack of hair is NOT natural it is a fungus. I use Ketoconazole creme on my dog. His ears and belly were bald when I got him. His ear hair has grown back and his chest hair is starting to come in. I use it every day for best and quicker results but I get lazy and use it every once in a while and it still works. Chihuahuas also like to burrow. Put a blanket over her when she is going to sleep. She will automatically go under the blanket from then on. I have a miniature blanket in my dog's bed and he rearranges it all the time, really funny. Have fun
I’m sorry for the unsolicited advice. You should keep her on one food until you know how she reacts to it. Mixing foods for puppies is very harsh ontheir little systems. And yes, I am a dog owner for over 40 years. Currently, I have two 1 1/2 year-old shelties and an 18 1/2 year-old Puggle.

I don’t know if photos are allowed her but on Facebook they are and we have the three foods but are only using the Stella and chewy so far right now because the other ones just didn’t seem nutritious enough 🐶

I had my mini schouzer 16 and half rears I thought I spoiled him took care of him you so far got me beat keep it up I love it and dogs you are good people your dog should live a long happy life being a smaller dog it my live longer then little buddy did 16 and half years was pretty hard but it he remained healthy to the last couple of months till I had to have put down I had to have someone come get me I couldn't see to drive from crying would I do it again hell yes but I'm to old to take on another one from my new nickname retired dog lover

With chihuahuas you need to be careful changing their food as they have really sensitive tummies. Mine ended up in emergency surgery due to a food change
Great choices, guys! That harness is ace and definitely worth the price. We use Earthbath products on our doggos as well and love the quality. One thing - you mentioned she is a little itchy. Some dogs have or develop allergies to chicken, so Opal’s itchies might be related. I decided to feed other proteins instead, like beef, salmon, lamb, etc. for this reason. Maybe worth eliminating chicken from her diet just as a test (after you use up the new products, obvs) to see if the skin thing clears up! Just my $0.02. 😀 Love the videos! 👏🏽

she may be getting hot spots which could be making her chew at her skin she may also have allergies so good idea to keep her on one food to see which she is reacting too switching one food to another may be one of the issues

you can clean her ears with cotton balls or Kleenex and a little rubbing alcohol on them (just a little or just water and not in her ears just on the cotton ball or Kleenex). you should also get her used to having her nails cut if you have to. Mine came with an attitude so I cannot cut his nails and he WILL NOT let anyone touch them including groomers. But I walk him on asphalt five times a day and he chews his dew claws so we maintain that way.

also using more than one kibble you need to change it slowly like half and half so it doesn't upset the tummy it can cause the trots or constipation with too many different food changes find one she likes that doesn't upset her tummy that is affordable and isn't junk and stick to it unless you cannot find it always stick to the one food kind it is best for her in the long run, also PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU KEEP AN EYE ON HER AND ALWAYS CHECK HER FOR SPEAR GRASS AND REMOVE I ENDED UP SPENDING NEARLY 25K ON VET BILLS AND SURGERY FOR MY SERVICE DOG FROM SPEAR GRASS that had gotten into her as a young pup and had traveled up to her throat and nearly choked her to death
do not feed her the freeze dried dry if you can help it unless you give her a crap ton of water as it will swell up in her tummy and cause her issues please be aware of this, best advice rehydrate it for at least five minutes

It looks like she is enjoying being spoiled as much as you like spoiling her. I have had many pets if all kind from Is 4 Iguanas, cats way too many to count, 3 pigs, large amounts of chickens, 39 parakeets, 6 Guinea pigs, gerbils I raised, Bread boxford for a number of years, down to one juggle and a Jack Russell, 3 rabbits,and none of them were treated as an animal. I treat my pets as a member of the family. So you just treat her as your little fur baby. There is one thing you may want to buy for your baby, my little girl lives hers and that is a doggie stroller. My little jack Russell loves being pushed around in hers. Brian can push you and you can push Opal. Have fun with your little baby and spoil her as rotten as you can. Oh, you need steps to get up on the bed. You can find ones that fold up for easy storage, keep a look out on Facebook market place for them.
